Look at it another way; is it really his fault that he's the greatest player of his time, confined to making a pittance compared to what the team and the league at large stand to make from him, and wanting to maximize that? Is it his fault that personnel mistakes were made out of his control and he ended up getting slaughtered by an aging team like the Spurs? You know how galling that has to be to a guy who may end up being the best of all time? Also, this is no diva; this is an astute businessman who has made almost a half-billion dollars since he went pro. He takes decisions seriously. Do I like waiting on him? Do I like seeing the NBA grind to a halt because he is undecided? No. But I don't begrudge him a second of the time he feels that he needs in order to make the right call, nor a penny of what he can earn whichever way he goes.
Hmm. Maybe, but like I said I think you get one free pass to leave a team for another situation of your choosing. If you keep doing it while that team is successful...you just look bad. Again just playing the what if game. He will be back in Miami. Heck maybe the guy has abandonment issues (his dad) and just wants to be fawned over. Who knows.
He never got a pass for the decision. People are wishing he'd do the decision now. He's making people realize that.
He makes more money for putting a ball in a hoop than people who actually help the world through their career path do. He is being a diva and he can cry me a river about his decision part two. He needs to just be a man and make a decision. In either direction. Still I believe he stays, just saying....he could handle this better. On top of this Gilbert was one of the owners who fought hardest AGAINST the players in the lockout. So if he plays for him....he's going against his own morals for what? Attention? Living near Akron that he can fly to whenever he wants?
Word. Well outside of beautiful s. Florida, it's always brought up when people think that because I'm a heat fan, I want to hear why they don't respect lebron.
Ha, must be pretty annoying. Personally I don't not respect him....just think he likes the attention a bit too much.
Part of me wonders if this is all a ploy by Riley and James... Who knows though... 85% of this is due to social media anyways.
LeBron is doing everything that he should be doing. He is growing the league's popularity. He is doing what's best for him at the same time. He literally has been silent and went about his business until today. He met with Pat Riley today and presumably will make an announcement within a very short period after he's permitted to sign with a team. There is literally nothing LeBron has done to warrant any criticism. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
Right so when 1Pm hits there should be Lebron and everyone elses decision right? Dont get me started.
Any chance bron/bosh/3 haven't signed because we're still negotiating with pau/deng/ or exploring other possibilities like rio/Isaiah Thomas?
Well we could still do IT with them signed. Not sure about thr others but from what Section said Pau is out and Deng would cost too much without huuuuge cuts.
I doubt the Heat get Isaiah Thomas. He is a restricted free agent and from what I have read his team will match any teams offer. I think Jameer Nelson makes more sense because he fits within the cap and a good veteran PG.
Heat fans hating on LeBron are doing exactly what the Cleveland media outlets want. They were so pissed during the LeBron decision in 2010 that they are making crap up this time to get back at him. He is not going back so they invent this circus.
Exactly.... There's one more piece to add. They are trying to work it all in the cap so this will take time. Everybody needs to chill.
Even if Lebron leaves, I would hope every true Heat fan wishes him the best and frames his jersey and hangs it on their wall. That being said, Lebron is staying as a Heat.
Im coming home, im coming home...tell the world im coming home. I know my kingdom awaits, and they've forgiven my mistakes im coming home. No really, I wish this would end so I can focus on my own mediocre team getting better. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
Did you guys see the pic of Riley and Elisburg playing blackjack at 1:00 am? Appears they are staying in Vegas for now
Cavs fans have shirts ready that say "Forgiven" They still can't admit he did nothing wrong, they don't deserve him.
Saw a comedian on twitter say that if Lebron goes back to Cleveland he should use the ashes of the jerseys they burnt as the powder he throws into the air before games haha
Im gonna go with the belief that Lebron resigns in Miami for two years, and then goes back to Cleveland. Theres no way he can ever really leave Cleveland again, once he goes back. I cant see him moving his family getting them all back to Ohio, only to piss his wife off and move them again. No to mention go through all of that ..."He left us" crap allllll over again. If he goes back now, Gilbert owns his ***. Best situation for him as a player seems to be to stay in Miami short term. This is the no lose decision for him.
Haha it would be a lifetime supply. Hopefully no fires are set here if he does someday leave. We aren't pathetic like that.
Huh..Steven A Smith says Bron is goin to Cleveland. Based on what hes heard. Letd say this is true..whats Miamis likely next move? Would they throw a max contract at Melo? I would think lossing Lebron would really fire up Riley..
Miamis fans arent like that. Lebron has given us four amazing years of basketball. Id say thanks for the titles..especially since its taken some of the sting from the plight if our Phins. Then Id be all in on making sure his decision was the wrong one and never let Cleveland sniff a Championship. Like he says....Its all business.
I see Stephen A. is saying something nebulous about the way LJ's crew has been treated. Give me a break. If that's the reason you're leaving 4 straight Finals then go.
To be fair the situations are very different. He was born and raised in their backyard, they followed him through high school, drafted him themselves, and he never won them a championship. There's something to be said for spending the entire prime of your career on one team (Kobe, Jordan, Wade, Magic, Bird, Duncan, etc)...and I think Cleveland imagined that to be the case with LeBron.
Now Stephen A. is admitting he is just speculating based on what he's heard from a "guy who knows a guy" kind of thing and that he has not heard anything directly from LeBron's camp. So, in short, nobody knows nothing. If he does leave, the Heat have a couple different option. First, if Bosh wants to stay you give him the max (or near max) and you cobble together a team that can atleast contend for the East Finals. If you use the LJ savings on a Deng/Isiah Thomas combo, and resign Oden, etc. you would still be a pretty good team, particularly in the east. If Bosh leaves as well, I would just give Wade and HAslem back the contracts they opted out, sign short term contracts and gear up for free agency the next two off seasons, with a few top picks sprinkled in. This is still Miami. In two years we will be contenders for Durant, Rose, et al.
Pretty clear that LeBron's boys are doing all the leaking here. Some friends......maybe it's time to grow up and cut the cord Bron
Think they are having fun making everyone run in circles? Kinda lame if Bron lets them keep up with that nonsense.
Just seems odd..Gilbert **** all over Lebron for leaving..Cleveland has NEVER built a real contender...they never put pieces around Bron when he was there..thats why he left. So hed leave a known Hall of Famer in Pat Riley..who delivered on what he promised....where he has Wayne and Bosh..two titles...4 finals appearances...to go to a rookie coach and an owner who has a record of nothing except ineptitude. Everyone keeps talking about how smary Lebron is. That doesnt seem like a very smart move to me.
It's ludicrous, looking strictly from a basketball sense. Irving has missed nearly as much time as Wade the last two years and other than Varaejo there isn't a single player on Cleveland's roster right now who has played in a playoff game. If this is truly a family decision, and his wife just will not be happy unless she is living in Akron full time, then so be it. Nothing we can do about that. I think it's foolish on his wife's part since he is only going to play another 6 or 7 years, but fine. That's at least a legitimate reason, that being a married, family man myself, can at least understand. If he's leaving because Mike Miller got amnestied, or because his "boys" don't have free reign over the organization, then that is completely stupid, and in that case, take a hike and enjoy the rest of your career in Cleveland. Thanks for the good times and the memories but shove off.
My only basketball-related thought is that Cleveland has much younger pieces, which bodes well for longevity. Kyrie is 22, Wiggins is 19, or if the KLove rumors are true he's 25. Tristan Thompson is 23, Dion Waiters is 22, and #1 pick Bennett is just 21. That's the only roster appeal I see, really. Aside from that, Miami is a much better situation.
If Lebron goes back to Cleveland he will never win another title. Its a terriblr decision. Good luck even beating a team like OKC, even with Love.
A too-young roster is not appealing in the NBA. Which super young roster has ever won anything? LeBron is not going to want to spend his prime teaching young players how to win.
Sure but Wiggins is unproven and Waitets/Thompson just aren't very good. Also from what I've heard they need to give up more than Woggins to make love work cap wise. So there goes some of that young core.
Thats why I dont get this...."Needing to discuss with his family" before he makes a decision. And if Lebron was just meeting with Riley to man up, and tell him to his face he was leaving, why was Bron's agent at the meeting? Well..hopefully today this all gets put to bed.
