It's on FX... started last week. Anyone watching it? Saw the first episode... It was fairly decent. Love Thornton's character. I thought Martin Freeman was great too. This helps answers some questions you may have about what the show is. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/fargo-boss-appeals-anthology-series-695532
Fargo on FX Holy ****! Fargo IMHO is one of the greatest movies ever. Just finished watching the first episode of the FX show, and I'm completely blown out of the water. Billy Bob Thornton is amazing and the plot is eerily similar to the movie. I had no idea this show even existed and just started watching it on demand. Highly highly recommended. Thank me later
The TV show is getting RAVE reviews. I only watched the first 20 minutes of the movie and hated it; Coen Bros. stuff is always extreme hit or extreme miss with me, no in-between. I'll check out the first TV ep.
I watched the first 4 or 5 episodes and decided to pause so I can watch the rest in marathon fashion without commercials b/c it was so gripping that I didn't want breaks in the show or time off between shows allowing the intensity to subside. Takes dark television to a whole new level.
f*** that. You guys are out of touch. Thank me later. http://watchseries.lt/serie/Fargo_(2014) I usually just stick with "nowvideo" for the options.
It's pretty easy though and you can use it for just about any show imaginable. Just click on the episode you want. Click one of the links. Hit play. Close the pop up. Hit play again if necessary.
you're six weeks late (on the thread) The first ep was historically insane, since then it's seen a bit of a tail off. I've been watching it on a weekly basis though. I think it would be better to binge watch them though. Really curious to see how the last two episodes end up. You just know Nygard isn't getting away with it.
I thought the ending was near perfection. And unlike True Detective, this show gained momentum and peaked at the end. One of the greatest seasons in television history IMHO. Anyone that hasn't watched this is doing themselves a disservice.
Just finished it. Great season. Billy Bob channelling his inner Anton Chigurh was fun to watch. "Best piece of pie I've had since the Garden of Eden." Aces!
I guess I just wanted Lorne Malvo's character to end a different way. I mean Gus telling him that he knows what the riddle means now...before he kills him? A character that great (Malvo) needed a better ending... But Nygard going out the way he did was pretty good.
oh and another thing... don't understand the whole money in the briefcase thing... as compared to the timeline in the movie. So Oliver Platt's character goes back to bury the million in the case, in the snow, with the scraper just as he found it... presumably, that's where Buscemi's character from the movie left it... but the movie time line doesn't sync up with Molly and her pregnancy. She's pregnant in the movie... in the TV series, she's not pregnant yet until a year after the money is buried by Platt.
apparently FX was holding out to see if they could wrap their hands around good enough material to create another season before committing to one. I figured Molly's dad was foreshadowing season 2 by dropping multiple references about his horrible 1979 case that he made sound like would rival the 2006 case of season 1. What better way for FX to continue the show's theme of portraying "true events" than to delve into a prior case that the viewers already know exists.
