And we could dump Cole and save another $2 million.

That's $14 under the cap. If LeBron would just take $2 million less we could get Melo

I really hope we bring back Rio as he is a solid player and likely affordable.

In my heart of hearts, I still believe that's the big play.

You add CA's 27PPG/8RB to the current lineup, plus a more consistent PG, and everything else is gravy. It takes the pressure off everyone and makes everyone play looser.

If we get Melo, just start Cole (if he's not traded for space) or sign a Nelson at the minimum to hold the spot until shabazz is ready.

But if everybody else is sacrificing to this major degree, LBJ will look like (and be) a total dick, if he won't give up a small amount to ensure we get another 1 or 2 all star caliber guys.

I'm going full homer here for a moment with the disclosure that I don't really believe this is what is happening.

What if the play IS for Carmelo and all parties already have an idea how the numbers will work out. Could his tour subsequently be tying up others interest and dollars much like Chicago and NY complained about Wade/Bosh doing four years ago?

It depends who Windhorst's source is.

If Riley has told agents this, he either has the money, or knows the guys will sacrifice if he secures "X" or "Y" guy

Sam Amico, the clown, is back at it.

claiming it's league consensus that Heat should let Wade go but can't because he's LeBron's friend.

Beyond the complete foolishness of the statement, how about that Wade is a fricking icon, a hero here, who is still one of the 3 best 2 guards in the league.

Honestly, aside from the documented Defensive skills and that he's a town favorite who's come up big on occasion in the past, I just don't see the love for Rio.

This is your starting PG who was benched in the finals; who not only choked, he gagged and vomited and then **** himself at midcourt to cap it off.

Most importantly, he has to have lost the confidence of a star trio that already yelled more at him before this than you would expect for a three-year starter at the Point.

He let down his star player in the biggest way on the biggest stage; when, had ANY player other than Lebron stepped up, it might have made a difference, at least made it more competitive, he shat the bed worse than any other player on the team, starter or bench.

With a fresh start coming in Shabazz, plus maybe Lowry or another experienced PG, how can you justify a roster spot on this kid in a win-now, ultra-high-pressure culture?

Not trying to be confrontational, but nothing I've stated is wrong, either.

Windhorst was the one with the Melo story and has been saying "record number of cap space" on repeat for weeks. I know y'all think he's anti-Heat but he seems be the one seeding Riley's stories for the past month or two.

Jodie Meeks agreed on a three year deal with The Pistons. That make him the first free agent to agree somewhere? Terms are 19 Million over the three years. 6.333 per on average.

Cartier Martin signed a one year deal there too.

Cavs thinking about throwing money at Gordon Hayward. Kyrie-Wiggins-Hayward is an incredibly young, athletic, and talented backcourt.

Now just cover your eyes when looking at the Tristan Thompson/Anthony Bennett/Tyler Zeller portion of the roster.

If that's true then they are lowering their contract less than what Barry Jackson hypothesized a few days ago. He said they can make room of $6m if Lebron took $20m, Wade took $15m and Bosh took $15m. You can't get a good player with $6m. If they are making room for a $12m player I would imagine Lebron taking $18m, while Wade and Bosh take $13m each. That's a significant fall in salary compared to last year.

It's possibly true as these player agents always leak stuff because they can't keep their mouths shut. I think you can get Lowry or Deng for $12m.

Windy says we did reach out to Gortat but he was focused on Wash so we moved on

Pau also met for HOURS with Mitch Kupchak in person today. For better or worse, The Lakers want him back. Pau is a better 5 than a 4 and he probably deserves more money than most teams will offer him. I honestly think The Knicks are a great spot for him.
