On July 1st, Riley does what he does best: recruit. He acquires one or two major pieces, and 1-3-6 come back for what's left. In a perfect world, one that fits the reality of the matter but would be hard on one guy in particular, Wade would come back for the room exception, ~$3.3M. It's harsh, but that's what he's worth now, if that. We'll see.

Disagree. Riley has a pretty good record with young talent...its just that some of them develop elsewhere cuz he doesnt trust rookies

Lol. That might be the biggest insult wade has gotten in here.

No. Wade is worth a helluva lot more than the mle. He is still a top 3 SG coming off the most efficient season for a SG in 30 years.

Wade gets a rework of somewhere around 4 years for 54 mil.

    Come on. 3.3?

Whether you are a huge fan of Napier or not you have to realize that at #26 he's about as damn good as it gets. Haven't seen him enough to put my money on either side of the coin but I'm excited about his future here.

Has the media brainwashed the masses this much where wade is thought of as worthless?

    One more time....

Career high in fg% and most eff. Season for a sg in 30 years.

One series ago he murdered the best defense in the nba.

Wade winning the 06 finals by himself is enough for him to retire as a Heat

Michael Beasley over Russell Westbrook, Kevin Love and Brook Lopez is a career-killer for a lesser light. Riley survives it because he's Riley. But he isn't right.

Well that is well and good, but he's also noticed talent that went elsewhere and flourished like Patrick Beverly.

Bazz fits the Heat like...a...glove. The way they play maximizes his strengths and they don't need him to press his weaknesses.

He's a tough, mature floor general/ballhandler who settles things down and gets you in your offense. He has a great jump shot with deep range from three, and can shoot it off the bounce or off the catch/screen. He can create his own shot by breaking guys down in small areas before those quick-trigger fall-aways he loves, which takes some of the load off LBJ. Defensively he is small, but he forces a good amount of turnovers because his hands are very quick and active...and off of those he pushes and excels in transition.

Due to his lack of size/length/athleticism, he's not a great finisher in the paint...but Miami doesn't need him to be. Due to circumstances in college, he's never been a pure pass-first distributor...but the Heat don't need him to be.

They need him to do what he does best: keep the offense clicking, stretch the floor, hit jump shots, score one-on-one occasionally, and be very active on defense. He's also a two-time champion who is as NBA-ready as any PG in the draft. People have ID'd this perfect fit for months now, and it made too much sense to not happen.

Wade played 74 games this year. The media erased 71 of them with 3 finals games.

For what? Loyalty? For old time's sake? Because we like him?

What part of missing 1/3 of the season and then being ineffectual in every productive way except stats entitles Wade to more than the Room exception? And he's not getting younger, nor healthier, nor better. In fact, he'll get worse, as he has over the last three years.

He doesnt have a crystal ball. Beasley was a consensus #1 a month before he was a conses #2 overall.

Every gm in the nba would have taken beasley at #2 that year.

In fact, what we're really talking about with Wade is a career 70+% FT shooter, a career 29% 3PT shooter, 49% FGs.

He's the consummate teammate, and he'd be the first to say that he's not even the 4th-best player on this team anymore.

Btw..the heat played 102 games this year. Wade played in 74 of them.

Math=that is not missing a third of the season.

So...when he's right he's right, and when he's dreadfully wrong he right too, because we'll presume that everyone else would have made that same dumb move?

Alrighty then. Why argue? He can do no wrong.

Except that in choosing college talent and especially with the league benefiting from foreign talent while the Heat gets zilch, Riley is deficient.

    Even gods have weaknesses.

I told your dumbass that him missing those games dropped his eff. Ratings and thus fell behind Dragic and Harden.

    Got it dummy? Good.

He starts next year as the best sg in the nba again though.

At this point its almost by default but Wade is the best SG in the game. Im not even sure who is second. I used to think it was Harden but that dudes almost never met a playoff game he showed up in. I guess its still Kobe by default. Maybe Lance Stephenson?

The guy who will be #1 at that spot in 2 years or so is Exum that i know.
