Forming an opinion shouldn't be subject to a threshold of beyond a reasonable doubt.

You're right, but I'm not talking about the burden of proof at trial here. The principle that a man should be presumed innocent until proven guilty is such a crucial personal right that it must be taken into account even in public discourse.

I've seen enough evidence to make me believe he is likely guilty. If you had to bet, what side would you bet on?

How do you know this, have you ever met AH? Why is it hard to believe that Pouncey would be shocked that someone he called a friend is a murder?

Neither, because I haven't seen any evidence, i've seen articles and heard people talk about what the evidence is. Concluding that a person is most likely guilty before due process plays out, and on that basis calling him a murderer in a public forum, offends my sense of the presumption of innocence. That's just my opinion; no offense intended.

But it gets into the Don Jones/Sterling argument of they represent franchises....it is a bad look for the franchise...Me and You Sick? sure represent AH jersey all day...

Do you think Miami wants to be associated with that?

How is Pouncey a thug? He's done nothing thuggish or even remotely close to it. He supports a dude he went to school and played ball with....not grew up on a gang with. Has no assault charges. Has no record of distribution of narcotics. No gang ties outside of Hernandez that we know of. Hasn't done any time. Besides being a knucklehead....what is making him a thug? Do yall even know what a thug is?

But this isnt Russia. You can't punish a guy for having something hanging in his private house. Besides, he didnt take or post the picture.

What are you saying? You asked what clubs are those. You said that discrimination in private clubs is under attack in the courts. I responded to the latter. Are you asking me to name what specific private clubs still discriminate? Or is there something else I haven't grasped?

    None taken.

I've seen the video of him walking back into his home, holding a gun (which was unregistered?), shortly after the murder was committed. They can't locate that gun. Hernandez also destroyed his home security system.

I'm not going to run around screaming that he's a murder. But if you ask me do I think he's a murderer? My answer at this point is yes. Certainly my opinion can change as I see more evidence, but I can't go through life waiting to see every piece of evidence and hear every defense before I form an opinion.

Put this in a more practical situation. The Miami Dolphins need to make a decision regarding Mike Pouncey's employment. Should they completely ignore anything involving Hernandez because due process hasn't played out? Often times in life we are required to form an opinion with incomplete information.

Right and I agree with you, but again I can see how for the franchise wouldnt want that. Listen they suspended Don Jones for saying OMG and horrible....granted we all know why he did and dont condone it, but that soundes kind of Russia-ish...

Also as far as MP not taking that picture I wouldn't say yes or no on that, it was after all his house and his child. Go read Grimes' post about how she was tweeting Abrahamson about the "supporting friends and family" bit and she writes in the same post (if she didn't delete) about she was "asking for a friend". Obviously that "friend" is Pouncey. Dude given Pouncey's ballbusting nature ie the draft of Jones tweet, I wouldn't doubt if the guy put the AH jersey in the shot ON PURPOSE....

You simply cannot do that.....all of what you speak of goes to motive....you can't prove action, nobody can therefore they dont have Murder 1 plan and simple....

You have to find the weapon or get a confession from AH or get one of those boys to turn or have a 3rd party witness say he saw AH with the gun DIRECTLY shooting OL.....all of which at present time they don't have....

I think AH had a hand in him dying he knew about and was there, but I cant say he was the shooter indefinitely. This is a case where the system works in reverse because he should go down and if they don't amend charges or one of the above comes to fruition, HE IS GOING TO MOST LIKELY WALK....

It really depends on how you define punish. The Dolphins absolutely can not re-sign, trade, cut, etc. based on what he has hanging in his house.

That video shows me that he is involved, and the missing gun and destruction of the home security system show me that he's hiding his involvement. It doesn't show me that he personally killed the victim, which is required for murder. He could be covering up for someone else, which would make him an accessory after the fact and makes him guilty of obstruction of justice if that's the case, but it doesn't make him a murderer in my opinion.

Pouncey's personal loyalty to his friend Hernandez and his lack of judgment in publicizing it would, in my opinon again, be an unfair basis for the Dolphins to let him go. This time, he didn't publicize it; Miko went into his house and did it for him, probably inadvertently.

I don't think it is wrong that he is supporting AH, that is his friend and right now is innocent. Pouncey doesn't know what the DA has on him and I guarantee you it is different than what AH is telling him they have so of course he is going to have his back. But say during the trial it comes out 100% that AH murdered the dude and the State proved it directly beyond a reasonable dount contradicting what Pouncey was being told by AH....AH lied to him at that point and basically played MP for a sucka. You have to cut ties at that point and it is warranted. I see this **** everyday...

I'm not trying to prove anything, nor do I need to prove something for me to believe it to be true. Whether he pulled the trigger or told someone else to isn't really going to make a practical difference with me. I agree with you that there very likely isn't enough evidence for a murder 1 conviction, but that is irrelevant to my opinion of Hernandez.

I don't see how this should be a big deal. Pouncey has repeatedly proven to be an idiot, but having the jersey of a college team mate in his house isn't one of his idiotic things.

Yup agreed and we got off track for a minute  but as in your case and many others whether he did the actual act or not AH was indeed somehow involved. That involvement includes not racism or something like that, it is that of taking someones else life for no reason. I think we as a society get sidetracked and often brush off murder or conspiracy as no big deal, when in fact it is the worst thing a human being can do to somebody else. So given that and given the fact that this very franchise suspended fined and made a player take classes over words (albeit ugly and non-tolerant ones); why the "it is in his house leave him be" crowd is stunned this is news is beyond me.

I just think Mike Pouncey continues to find neat little ways to show everyone what a d-bag he is, and he's going to continue to do that.

He's a unique center. I think he got voted All Pro, didn't he? I'm not sure I would've voted him that but who knows. I don't think he's a star player or anything like that. He doesn't move the needle much as far as winning football games. But he's going to be pretty expensive soon and once you're actually paying for what he's putting out on the field, that really changes the equation and makes the margin of his value to the team so slim that stuff like this DOES impact it.

That's how stuff like this should be viewed. It's not a big deal while he's making only $1,637,685 of salary. But it becomes a lot bigger deal when he's making $7,438,000 salary in 2015.

Every team should have a model they use to equate draft pick value into salary cap dollars. That model combined with the offers out there for him should be the driving force behind whether you seek a trade or not.

AH is Pouncey's "guy", even if he is found guilty/culpable, that does not erase the friendship.

I suspect the facebook/tinder generation does not understand Loyalty very well

I have a hard time seeing that "the Hernandez he knows" is some type of honorable person, and the murder was some type of shocking incident. There is a lot of evidence of Hernandez being a scumbag through and through.

We have pictures of Hernandez posing with guns while he was at college. We know he had gang-member friends come to Gainesville from his hometown. I think Pouncey was very aware, at the least, that Hernandez carried guns, hung out with gang members, etc. From there, it isn't a big leap at all to murderer.

I've known plenty of people who walk around with guns and were affiliated with gangs. It's still a pretty big leap. Gang members who murder are higher up than the rest of the gang members for a reason.

My question to you is...why would anyone support..or not support it. I support the fact that the man put something up on the wall of his home...why is it even a topic of discussion. Its a non story...yet everyone feels the need to comment on Pouncey because he put something up in his house.

Because while I agree with the right to do as you please in your own home, I support the idea of morality more. Aaron Hernandez is a terrible person and noone should be treating him like a friend at this point.

Also this isn't his first issue. Maybe if I don't combine it with his Free Hernandez cap its not a huge deal to me.

Pouncey was actually involved in one incident at Florida.

    http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/sto...esville-florida-shootings-odin-lloyd-patriots

To my recollection the argument that broke out at the night club prior to the shooting involved accusations that one of the shooting victims had stolen Pouncey's necklace. Hernandez was there during that argument. Later that night the guy was shot by a person that was described as looking like Aaron Hernandez. Reggie Nelson was actually specifically identified by the witness, who later rescinded his identification and claimed he wasn't there. Not hard to imagine he feared for his life from Hernandez gang ties. He'd already been shot once.

One of my friends has a brother who is a long time scout. He said it was flat out known by scouts when Hernandez came out of Florida that he had killed a guy there. I think it would be silly to assume Mike Pouncey knew nothing of it, especially considering he was actually involved in the argument at the club.

Here's a story which explains that whole incident in more detail:

    http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_...e-2007-gainesville-shooting-according-sources

There are details in that story that make it even harder to imagine that Hernandez was not involved in that shooting. At the time, Hernandez was 17 years old so his name is often redacted throughout the police report because he was a minor. So when one of the witnesses identified Reggie Nelson and a "Hawaiian or Hispanic" looking man who fit Hernandez description (6'4" and 230 or 240 lbs), it didn't say the latter was Aaron Hernandez. Yet when that witness rescinded his identification, the statement said he rescinded the identification of Reggie Nelson and Aaron Hernandez. And the police attempted to speak with Hernandez about it but he invoked his right to counsel.

All of the above including both Pouncey twins were involved in an argument at The Venue with Cason and the two guys who were shot, because of accusations that Cason had snatched one of the Pouncey twin's necklace. Reggie Nelson admits that incident but claims he talked to Cason and they all left amicably. If that was the really case it's tough to imagine why Cason would falsely ID Nelson as the shooter's accomplice. More likely Nelson and Hernandez were the two men who walked up to the car, Hernandez started shooting, and then later Hernandez' gang ties got to Cason and told him he's dead if he doesn't rescind his testimony.

And keep in mind, I'm not even sure this is the shooting to which my friend's brother is referring. Nobody died in the above incident that involved Mike Pouncey. One guy got shot in the head, but lived. Another guy got shot in the arm.

The story to which my friend's brother referred that some scouts knew about specifically stated that Hernandez had killed someone at Florida.
