The guy had inflated stats on a handful of games and isn't very athletic. Get out of here with that homophobia stuff, he isn't as good and was not deserving of that award. There was 7 games where he did absolutely nothing for Missouri, 3 games where he recorded 3 sacks each against the worst teams in their conference. Kony Ealy got drafted before the "DPOY".

We wont get Skov. He is known to be a giant dousche and after Incognito we are steering clear from that. The 3 people we have gotten were all team captains. As a Knight I really hope we get Storm Johnson

I don't think we can target a player so I wonder what position they are targeting next? I can't fathom whether their next pick will be offense or defense much less position or player. IMO the next needs are DB, OL, TE.
It would be nice to get a QB. Phickey are doing their thang, I have confidence they will get decent players. I've no preference in these rounds. (maybe McCullers)

Yea I think your over thinking it a bit. Our CBs are usually 6 and under because 98% of corners in America are that short. Doesn't mean there is size mold. Just that 6'2 is hard to come across.
It was a major reach, we had a chance to pick a major playmaker, Benjamin. We missed on Hyde. But the players they picked are decent players. They are doing a decent job. now we are in the rounds where you can trust them.
With 3 of the biggest needs addressed in RT, G, and WR... we enter day 3 with a real opportunity to add some valuable pieces, while they may not be day one starters there is some serious talent still on the board. So, what are our remaining needs: LB, CB, S, RB, TE and QB LB is a tricky position as the top tier guys have left, also what are we looking for? A MLB or a OLB. Here is a list of the remaining LB's that could come into play: 1. Yawin Smallwood ILB Uconn - Didn't really stand out in combine or athleticism wise. Has good length and very good production from his time at Uconn. Not my favorite option but would help us address the need, just not sure he is much different than what we disappointingly have on roster. Round 4 or 5 2. Christian Jones ILB FSU - 6'4" 240lbs with a 4.7 40 so he more than looks and tests the part. Played multiple positions at FSU including DE, OLB, MLB. Never became the dominant player that many expected him to be, but he reminds me a lot of Lawrence Timmons coming out after struggling in college but taking his game to the next level. He is the athlete and physical presence that we most definitely need, but the recent drug test fail might have the dolphins shy away from him. Round 4 or 5 3. Lamin Barrow ILB LSU - Very fluid athlete and made a good amount of plays in the LSU defense, still he was not the product that Kevin Minter was coming out. At this point he is a very good athlete but not a polish football player. Still he is the athlete that could help sideline to sideline and in coverage. Round 5 4. Shayne Skov ILB Stanford - Not really sure what has happened to Skov's stock a year ago people were talking about him as a top MLB prospect and now he sitting here on day 3. He made a lot of impact plays at Stanford but I have yet to see Stanford players amount to standouts in the NFL. Ran a slow 40 time and struggles with injuries. He would bring the intensity and edge we need on defense, just not sure how he'd fit at ILB in a 4-3. Round 5 5. Telvin Smith OLB FSU - Love just about everything about this kid except for the fact he is built like a safety. Has good height at 6'3" but hovering around the 218lbs is a scary thought for a NFL LB. Just not sure how much more weight he can put on effectively. He was a team captain and leader for the National Champs and seeing as we have drafted 3 college captains with our third pick it would follow the pattern. You will not hear me complaining if snatch him up. Still confused as to why he is still around this late in the draft. Round 4 6. Carl Bradford OLB ASU - Played in a hybrid scheme as a OLB who was primarily a pass rusher. He has a compact and powerful frame with surprising athleticism. We had him in for a visit and there has been talk some teams view him as a MLB prospect due to his ability to take on blockers and play physical. Some had him going as early as round 2. Round 4 7. Kevin Pierre - Louis OLB BC - This guy lit it up at the combine running a 4.46 in the 40. he has pretty decent size and by no means is a big player but has had great production in college at one point playing alongside Luke Kuechly. Round 5/6 CB: there are a few prospects I am shocked are still on the board: 1. Jaylen Watkins CB UF - his brother was the 4th overall pick in Sammy Watkins. Jaylen no slouch in his own right is quite a player. Was the 3rd most known of the UF CB prospects but this offseason with workouts he is rated the highest. Doesn't have great size, and probably will be a lockdown slot corner but with how the NFL is changing that is starting caliber position now a days. Should've been taken in round 2 or 3 and with us picking deep in round 4 I think Watkins will be scooped up before we get a chance. Round 4. 2. Bashaud Breeland CB Clemson - good prospect with good size, played against good competition at Clemson. Round 4/5 Some later round: Antone Exum CB/S VA Tech, Aaron Colvin CB OU (injured late in season, but was a 2nd round prospect), Marcus Roberson CB UF (was a 2nd round prospect but has fallen could be good value late in draft) S: Not too many I am that enticed about but here are a couple: 1. Brock Vereen FS Minn - would be nice for him to play against his brother twice a year. He has had doubts coming out just like his brother but he is a real playmakers. Round 4/5 2. Dontae Johnson FS NC ST - A tall and athletic FS. Has good range and a great vertical. He is versatile as well playing CB and S. Best fit is a zone scheme, which we run so good. Round 4/5 RB: Still some quality on the board, but what do we truly need and I still think it is a power back, Moreno is certainly more decisive when hitting the whole but he isn't a true power guy or goal line type back. 1. Devonta Freeman RB FSU - I love this kid and really do hope we bring him on this team. He has a great backstory and some unheralded production from his time with FSU. He is the first 1,000yd RB since Warrick Dunn. And while he isn't exactly address our need, he might be the no nonsense hard worker we desire on offense. Round 4/5 2. Lache Seastrunk RB Baylor - reminds me of a poor mans Lesean McCoy, and to me Shady may be the best all around RB in the NFL. I am shocked that he has fallen this far in the draft but the RB is so devalued this year it's silly. With Lazor as our O-Coordinator he may look to replicate the Shady experience. Round 4/5 3. Storm Johnson RB UCF - he is a big back who has had his trouble with fumbles at UCF. Still, he is the fit we are needing on offense, a big power guy who you can give the ball to on 3rd and short and let him go get the 1st down. Basically he is exactly who we envisioned Daniel Thomas becoming. Round 5/6 4. Isiah Crowell RB AK St - remember him the SEC Freshman of the year form UGA who got kicked off the team. Well, he got his act straight at AK ST and is looking for some redemption in the NFL. Had he stayed at UGA he may have been the top RB in this year's class. I think the red flags Philbin will want to avoid but he could be the biggest steal of the draft and is a hard runner we need, he reminds me of a Marshawn Lynch type. Here are my ideal scenarios: Option A: 4. Jaylen Watkins - if he is on the board he is a difference maker, who could learn under Finnegan and Grimes, and if Taylor and Davis amount to anything we could have 3 promising corners waiting in the wings. Doubt he is here at this point though. 5a. Christian Jones - again not sure if he can squeeze through another round but getting him and Watkins to start day 3 would be killer, not out of the imagination to believe that both could potential start on defense. 5b. Storm Johnson - big back, who can be adjusted slowly to the NFL game. His size with our other backs would give us a nice 3 headed monster. 6. Antone Exum - suffered through injuries that hurt his stock but he may project best as a FS. 7. Project QB Option B: 4. Telvin Smith - somehow he keeps dropping and we get the ante sideline to sideline LB that we need 5a. Devonta Freeman - see above 5b. Dontae Johnson - FS of the future 6. Aaron Colvin - may be a medical redshirt year 1 but can develop nicely in the future 7. Isiah Crowell - can never have enough weapons.
Bottom line today should be all about best talent available. Don't fall into the need traps today. The guys that are in my "highest remaining" group are superior talents. I don't care WHAT we have on the roster already. You grab the guys because they're going to be good.
Everyone knew Ealy would get drafted ahead of Sam so what's your f***ing point? Hell, everyone knew a LOT of non DPOYs would get drafted ahead of Sam without baring any relevance on his particular draft status. well, that is, unless you yourself have a serious problem with math and can't figure out there are only so many football conferences, which means only so many DPOY's, but there are 32+ picks per round and 7 rounds. Nobody on the planet argued that Sam should've been the first SEC defender drafted so get that weak sauce out'a here and stop dumbing down this forum with your circular logic bull****.
