I like the player, but couldn't we have traded down and still gotten him? Thats the fail.

Duh. If you're surprised or disappointed about the pick then you might wanna go back and watch the tape from 2013.

Bet you anything we were on the phones with the Saints and they said screw you to our demands and traded up with the Chiefs... You can tell based on how long we took to pick and how fast the deal was made...

    Screw Hickey.

Poppin the cork again... I guess we should have taken Manziel or Cooks. Secondary had value but we arent needy there, but desperate at Tackle. Relax, you can still blame this on Ireland !

Cant even get his name right or share a relevant thought. Just racing to be first to pop it.

Think its a good pick if we couldn't trade down. There will probably be more tackles drafted before end of 1st round.

Sort of damned if you do and damned if you dont. Fans will cry their eyes out if you go somewhere else and all the tackles get snapped up and they will cry their eyes out if you reach a bit.

Amazing... the OL play we had last year, and people ***** about this pick, a plug and play first day starter at RT... come on guys.. its obvious we tried to trade out by how much time we took to make the pick, there were no takers for whatever we wanted to move down... you can't do anything about that if nobody is willing to play. Miami got the guy they likely wanted at that point, sure they may have liked him a few spots back, but if you cant move back, just take the guy.

What's wrong with filling an obvious need?? Afterall... that is the point here...

Geez, is everything this team does bad? It's a position of dire need and just about the best available ot, although at this point there are several lumped together.... You guys talk like there were several teams trying to trade with us...it does take two to make a trade...

I'll never not be surprised when the Dolphins draft a lineman in the 1st round.

It's not a reach if he plays from Day 1 and protects Tanny better than Clabo last year. How soon we forget.

Drafting to fill needs is not a winning strategy. We spent a premium pick on a non premium talent at a non premium position.

Horrible Pick!!! Man no wonder Tampa Bay didn't want you! But I bet to hell he is a nice guy to fit the squeeky clean image this team wants now... This guy was a mid second end of second pick IMHO. Hes not fast at all, edge rushes are going to get past him easily and often...

We should have gotten Cook and made our wideouts so damn good... Hell we cound have gone safety even plenty of talent left there still WHICH IS A MAJOR ISSUE ON THIS TEAM! I don't get it seriously yes we need an upgraded line, but not a reach like this! Damn it's hard being a Dolphins FAN when they do stupid ****!

Jawuan James is a good player. He's going to upgrade the RT position that was a black hole last season.

Sure maybe they could have gotten him a few picks later, but the pick was a good pick.

Well, my point is that the Saints traded to the very next spot. If you can't get what you want, then you take what you can get.

Right after Miami made the #19th pick, the Saints traded up with Arizona, for the #20th pick.

Clearly, the Saints were looking to trade up.

Someone gets it. They were trying to trade up with us, especially how long we took to pick. I want everyone gone. Philbin, Hickey, Ross. End it now.

Don't be mad at Hickey. He had about as much say in that pick as you and I. This was all Philbin.

    He's nothing if not predictable

Do you realize a slot WR like Cooks can do the same thing that a RT does plus more? If you have a quick guy like Cooks that gets open in less than 2 seconds you don't need Tackles to hold their own for 3+ seconds.

Hickey says Dolphins got a couple of calls for their pick but decided to stay. "Always targetting Ja'Wuan at our pick."

    Wow.

Lets think about this for a second... The Saints traded up to get Cooks, why would they spend whatever we were asking for them to move up, when it's pretty obvious that we wouldnt have been taking cooks? They had the leverage, not us. It takes two... to make a trade.

Some of you kill me... we get a plug and play day 1 starting RT to help fix our pathetic OL that needs two Guards still, and needed a RT, and people are crying about not getting a late 3rd round pick in exchange to move down two spots... like come on.

Dude, they traded the 27th pick and a 3rd... James would have been there at 27.

THIS is why Farmer is a good GM and Hickey sucks...

Miami had HA HA as their BPA at #19 since February. They had info philly wanted him.

They choked...took need and threw away extra picks on a trade down..or threw away their mocked BPA.

    Terrible job.
