Just had my first A- as well: 1.8 - Jake Matthews - T - Texas A&M 1.32 - Ryan Shazier - LB - Ohio State 2.32 - Will Sutton - DT - Arizona State 4.16 - Bruce Ellington - WR - South Carolina 5.15 - Andre Williams - RB - Boston College 6.14 - David Fales - QB - San Jose State 7.19 - Marcel Jensen - TE - Fresno State
Coming from someone wanting someone that will be off the board trading down and wasting another pick on a TE, I'm not taking your statement very seriously. Put a fork in the TEs already please. Put down Purifoy all you want, I watch Florida regularly and the guy just made plays. Punt returner too.
Wow, didn't realize he was projected so high. Gotta figure a guy coming out of college a tackle and projected moving to guard would not be that high. I'm a defense guy, no way I pick this guy in the 2nd.
I kinda like Purifoy too. I mean, there are some real off-field questions that the staffs will have to check on, like drug tests, his in-game focus...mainly his commitment to football. But man he's intriguing. A long fluid athlete with good hands, pretty good feet, and a knack for big plays. He tackles well and is good against the run, imo, despite a lack of strength (an embarrassing 6 bench reps at the combine...again, work ethic). That strength issue might show up when he's trying to jam guys. Ultimately he's probably too much like Will Davis, and too much of a character issue for the Phins to take him in the mid rounds. But I could see him doing well with a change of scenery in an established lockerroom. That is, if a coaching staff gets the feeling from him that, despite his poor workouts and inconsistent effort, he actually cares about being a pro football player.
I don't think Moses is a top 20 pick in this draft..first round pick sure, Niklas accomplishes multiple things for me, a better oline, better protection from the position, better run game blocking, and a weapon for tannehill without giving a tell like you do with Sims. As far as your boy Purifoy, doesn't matter if your his brother and watched him all your life in your backyard, the dude looks soft and weak..if you want him as your punt returner ok, he can make some plays if given proper space, but anything other than that and backup, your pushin it,doesn't deserve a 2nd round grade, jmo.
Your score is: 5473 (GRADE: A-) Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 19: Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M (A) Round 2 Pick 18: Xavier Su'a-Filo, OG, UCLA (A) Round 3 Pick 17: Billy Turner, OT, North Dakota State (A) Round 4 Pick 16: Anthony Johnson, DT, LSU (A) Round 5 Pick 15: Devin Street, WR, Pittsburgh (A-) Round 6 Pick 14: Isaiah Crowell, RB, Alabama State (A) Round 7 Pick 19: Aaron Colvin, CB, Oklahoma (A-)
I wouldn't mind if we took him in the 1st, personally. I think he is discounted slightly because he played at Nevada. If he played in the Pac 12, Big 10 or SEC he would be rated higher. If we took him in the 1st and came back with Billy Turner in the 2nd or Jack Mewhort in the 3rd, I think our OL would be greatly improved. Here he is going against mostly #99 Cassius Marsh, with some Anthony Barr. He drives Marsh off the line consistently in the run game. Mostly blocking #21 Chris Casher. That was the only number I can make out consistently. Those are obviously not done while picking for Miami, so they have little relevance to me. I have only ever done those mock draft sites picking for Miami. I don't care how the other teams may score out.
Last guy to ask that never saw his feet again..... but then again, at 285, Pappy might not be able to see his feet as it is.
A mock draft I made on a hockey boards where I had the Dolphins went like this 19-Zach Martin, OT, Notre Dame 50-Stephon Tuitt, DE/DT, Notre Dame 81-Billy Turner, OT, North Dakota State 116-Lache Seastrunk, RB, Baylor 155-Dri Archer, WR, Kent State Keep in mind this was started a while ago before free agency opened and went on for a few weeks. Now with the players available at my spots at the time I might have made some changes with the stock of some players going up or down.
IIRC I picked Tuitt before I knew Starks would be back and Mitchell signed. Some believe he could be a good fit as a DT in a 4-3 D and could also line up as a DE if Miami wants to mix some 3-4 alignment. That's what I thought anyway.
