Anyone who has payed attention to my comments about this story on here or Facebook know that I'm angry because Sterling has always been a ****bag and I think he should have been punished years ago. Bomani Jones basically says everything I think in this clip.

Yeah no **** it came from me, I was beyond rip**** at the time.....at the time thats how I felt because that first report about his fine was a godamn joke. It would have been the case of the good ole boy network once again. Thank God it wasn't true and Mr. Silver did what he did, it is refreshing to know there are still some leaders around in certain areas.

Grow up with the psuedo "you're offended" crap.....smh.....

  7. I am just relieved that poor girl is free to post on social media and if someone don't like it we can sell off their personal possessions without their consent. God bless America. That scumbag almost set back civil rights 200 years. Thankfully the NBA self appointed bastions of justicr are protecting us from crimes against humanity.

If you consent to be recorded for purposes of Recall, it is not illegal to make those recordings public unless there was monetary gain from the release of the recordings. Then you can be sued for a part of the proceeds.

If you believe that your hypothetical is in any way analogous to what happened to Sterling then it's clear that you have no understanding of what happened.

    Yeah, sorry, anti-semitism offends me.

Why you would leap to the conclusion that this has anything to do with Silver and Sterling both being Jewish is beyond me, unless you're an anti-semite.

Ripped or not, joke or not, that was clearly an anti-Semitic statement. It's sort of ironic to bash one person's racist statement by making a prejudiced statement.

To be fair the records for his lost housing discrimination suit are sealed since it was settled out of court. The NBA did speak to sterling on that matter years ago but there was nothing they could do really since it was settled and sealed.

    Anyway...back to basketball.

How about them thunder? Guess Melo is only going to the bulls if he wants more 1st round exits. No point in leaving Phil for that place or Houston for that matter.

Melo to Miami makes more sense each passing day? He got em all, again? Discounted, again?

  21. Why couldnt they do anything about it? According to everything going on now they have the right to do anything they want because he is part of a franchise. If they wanted him out they could of removed him back then

It was public record at the time in 2003. And regardless...why couldn't the NBA ban him for exhibiting racial discrimination? It's not like any legal issues got him banned this week. He's just a racist jerk. He was a racist jerk back then too. But the NBA didn't do anything because TMZ didn't blast it to everyone and because it had nothing to do with basketball.

Being stupid is not against NBA rules. Otherwise half the owners and 3/4ths of the players would be out of the league.

All I'm saying is that people who claim this week's incident is the proverbial straw that broke the bigoted camel's back are kidding themselves. His history of racism meant absolutely nothing to his getting banned. People ignored his racist behavior for years...and that stuff was far far worse. These tapes alone, because they got blasted to the public and named Magic Johnson, did the job.

They could have banned him. There was a much smaller backlash toward him in 2003 however.

Also, TMZ wasn't even around in 2003.

Agreed on those points. It's pretty sad that audio is what's needed to convince people that something should be done.

Ew, Im gonna have to rename my dog if that happens. I can deal if he goes to Houston or something but Miami? Id have to suspend melos status as my favorite player if that happened.

For you and Shula: The NBA could not get the full story if records are sealed and things are settled out of court. Therefore they could not remove him. To my knowledge, and Im not a lawyer, sealed means it is not public record.

No. If he goes to Houston or some team I have no real dislike for he will still be my favorite player just like he was at Syracuse and with the Nuggets. If he goes to Miami or Chicago...blasphemy. #StayMelo

They don't really need the full story to kick him out of the NBA. The problem is that in 2003, information didn't spread nearly as fast. I don't even recall hearing about this. People were much less informed back then.

Back then you had to actually read a newspaper, which I did religiously for anything sports related lol. But it was an issue, it just wasnt as big an issue because there was no real social media and not everyone had internet let alone had it on their phones. Regardless, he got what he deserved. And it ticks me off because it puts all white people, particularly white jewish people, in a bad light.

    Live from the Internet.
I think it shouldn't be overlooked that in this madness (Sparta!!!) of a first round, Miami has taken care of business, and moved on a professional manner. While all the upper seeds either losing (OKC, Indy) tied (Toronto, San Antonio, Clippers) or lost (Chicago) Miami is sitting at home and looking pretty. It's not about just beating an inferior opponent, it's about being professional and taking care of business, one area that so many people overlook. How ****ing professional of a organization it is and how the players carry themselves. They supported the Clippers, they didn't overlook an opponent that could of easily stolen a game from them, and they say and do all the right things.

I guess all I'm trying to say is that it feels damn good being a supporter of this fantastic organization, especially compared to what we have here on the other end with the Dolphins :(
We need to enjoy this, HEAT fans. Because once this ride is over...we will not see this type of basketball again, and I don't think it's an overstatement.
