Believe it or not I'm actually not excited for it. I mean really they're doing a Bryan/Kane feud now for the WWE title? This is something they should have done last year after they dropped the titles. This just reeks of the Benoit title reign where he wasn't given credible title contenders and was just used to shut up the fan base until they put the belt on someone they want. I hope I'm wrong. I'm almost hoping Bryan is put into The Shield/Evolution feud and there's a war games type match for Extreme Rules.

I do think Kane in the title picture shows just how thin the heel side is for main eveners. After Orton and Batista there's really no one. Probably a big reason why they're keeping Cesaro heel with Heyman.

RAW kind of sucked except for the Ziggler/Barrett match and Evolution reforming. Which is disappointing since last week was so good.

Eh, let Bryan beat Kane, and start some kind of program with one of the evolution guys or cesaro for summer slam, I am ok with that.

 

Yeah that's probably the plan. Just wish they had someone better for Bryan to face for his 1st title defense.

I am surprised that the WWE isn't doing a WM title match rematch for Extreme Rules or another Triple H/Bryan match but I'm happy the Evolution is just there to (hopefully) make The Shield look like stars.

I'm assuming you just mean the World Titles and not IC, US, European, Crusierweight, Divas, Tag Team etc. otherwise yeah do your own research, haha.

But here you go:
WM2-8 were all won by faces
WM9 was won by heel Yokozuna and then face Hogan
WM10 was won by heel Yokozuna and then face Bret Hart
WM11-15 won by faces
WM16 was Triple H as a heel
WM17 is a grey area where Austin was a face at the start of the match but turned heel at the end of the match, so I guess you count it as a heel
WM18 was won by a face Triple H
WM19 had Triple H retain the WHC as a heel and Lesnar won the WWE title as a face
WM20 had both faces win their WHC and WWE title matches
WM21 had both faces win
WM22 had both faces win
WM23 had both faces win
WM24 had Orton win the WWE title match as a heel and Taker win the WHC match as a face
WM25 had both faces win
WM26 had heel Jericho win the WHC match and face Cena win the WWE title match
WM27 had face Edge win the WHC match and heel Miz win the WWE title match

Sorry used to love wrestling, but the 11 on 3 then evolution comes out just reeks p*ssy, can't watch these "badasses" play chump ad if chicken shnit to fight fair. In the old days it was fun because then the troops would arrive to kick ads.. yeah how long can you play out something, but it isn't like this is creative, its the same thing w/o the calvary

If anyone hasn't heard the Steve Austin podcast with Paul Heyman that was released yesterday yet, go and listen to it ASAP. Heyman clearly knows the business and knows what's wrong with it right now, it's just a shame that he isn't part of the decision making process anymore. It's no surprise when he was the head booker of Smackdown when the brand split first happened that Smackdown was the better "WRESTLING" show than RAW. His stuff about how the wrestlers are fearful of their jobs and never speak up anymore is spot on.

He also mentions that he speaks to CM Punk regularly as they are friends but that they never talk about wrestling and that only 3 people (Vince, Punk and Triple H) know the true story of why Punk left but no one is talking about it.

Part 2 is coming tomorrow. It's just too bad this was recorded before WM30. Also Austin has mentioned that he is trying to plan a trip to Undertaker's house in Texas to record a podcast and Taker agreed to it (which might be another hint Taker may be retiring soon as he never breaks character).

 

Seemed like old times last night on RAW. Cena somehow, someway finding the power and strengthen to beat 3 guys in a match, having a hot mid-carder that the fans are really starting to get behind in Cesaro lose a match to continue a feud no one wants to see anymore and finally having Daniel Bryan get destroyed by an Authority member and it was Kane to boot (although I kind of understand the WWE needing to write off Bryan for the week while he goes home because of the passing of his father). Good good times. But hey at least Sheamus jobbed right? So baby steps? I'm guessing Barrett will be the next IC champion, which isn't a bad thing but I personally would have given it to Cesaro and have him spend the summer destroying the mid-card.

Seriously after one of the best RAWs ever the night after WM, the last two RAWs have been pretty awful.

 

I am hoping this leads to a BNB IC title run fighting guys like Ziggler, Swagger, and Shameus. And letting Cesaro get closure on Swagger at ER and have Heyman come out claiming Cesaro should get a title shot, building Cesaro vs Bryan towards summer slam.


One can hope.

Honestly the Kane hurting Bryan thing was perfect.....they built a reason for Bryan Vs Kane at ER, and gave Bryan bereavement time for his fathers passing. They came up with it last minute....and I was emotional watching him come out, look up to the sky with tears in his eyes "yessing" with everyone. Man what a moment. I feel for Bryan. Talk about an amazing week, the best in his life, ending in tragedy. So sad.

 

See I thought Cesaro should have beat Swagger on RAW the night after WM after Heyman was announced as his manager and then moved on to bigger things. I don't think the plan is to run Cesaro vs. Bryan at SS, I think the two matches they have in mind is Brock/Bryan and Reigns/Triple H.

I think at this point they have to have Barrett win the IC title or the tournament will be for nothing and really what was the point of Barrett getting all the way to the finals for him to lose. I'm holding out hope that they're going to treat the title as something important but I don't know. I'd like to see them unify the IC and US titles since that title is even more meaningless and I think it would make a good subplot heading into ER if the Authority forced Ambrose to defend his title at RAW against lets say Del Rio and after he beats Del Rio the Authority comes out and says well you're going to have to defend it against someone like Fandango and after he beats Fandango, Barrett comes out and beats Ambrose and wins the title and thus the unified IC/US title match is ER. That way it puts heat on the Evolution/Shield feud, Ambrose loses the title but looks strong doing it and Barrett looks good too.

The Kane thing was fine for what it was but I'm kind of biased when it comes to Kane. Hopefully it's just the one match at ER with Bryan winning cleanly and Bryan moving on. And yeah totally feel for Bryan right now. Thankfully his father got to be at his wedding and see him at WM etc. I'm also glad the WWE didn't play it into the angle or anything like that.

I do think it's curious that Triple H, Orton and Batista have moved on from Bryan so quickly and are feuding with The Shield. On one hand it's nice to see The Shield getting the rub but on the other hand Bryan has no realistic heel challengers for the title ala Benoit and CM Punk when they were champions. I also wonder what will be the main event at the ER PPV.

 

What are the best WWE entrance Themes...Musically?

Is it the HHH Lemmy/Motorhead themes (Evolution, The Game, King of Kings)

 

I hate almost all of the newer rock/singing themes as they all sound the same to me.

From the late 80s to late 90s, basically until the Attitude Era ended those were the best themes. Give me themes like Hogan, Warrior, Savage, Flair, Demolition, Dibiase any day of the week.

But if I had to pick, Triple H's "The Game", Jericho's and DXs are probably the tops.

 

Also for the people that want the WWE to turn Cena heel and don't understand why. Last month Cena was the #1 merchandise selling (again), he sold 5 times as much merch as the #2 guy. Turning him would flush money down the drain for them.

 

According to wiki for extreme rules the main event is evolution vs shield.

For the record I love Bret harts music.

Yeah Bret's was good, Razor's too. Like I said its hard to find a bad theme song for the true mid-card and higher guys from the late 80s to the end of the Attitude Era.

Everyone's theme was unique and fit the character. Now everyone is given a generic rock song that sounds the same.

 

There is also something about the glass shattering and the guitar riff that gives you chills and equals a huge pop anytime you hear it. Stone Colds music is top notch too.

Even though I hated him (of course I was supposed to)....my favorite music of all time is "Game" for HHH, his original solo entrance music. **** gets you mad pumped up. Love it.

 

Jim Johnston used to write all of the themes for the wrestlers and often based the music on how wrestlers walked, talked, and of course, their characters. mankind's, for example has a beat that matches Mick Foley's clunky gait. It is little touches like that that make a good theme, great.

Some of the themes today I do like, but the personal effect is dwindling. HHH's themes standout because ale my wrote those for him. I also really like Mark Henry's theme as the lyrics are outstanding for a pro wrestling theme (somebody's gonna get they *** kicked, somebody gonna get they wig split).

One of my favorites of all time though is Eddy Guerrero's LWO theme. The trumpets blaring as he did his cocky, slow walk was a thing of beauty.

 

And RAW has been boring, but I think a lot of it is due to Bryan being gone. Their biggest face, and champion has essentially been shelved for two weeks, which makes for an impossible task of re-writes and band-aids.

Personally, with Extreme Rules, I would turn the Evolution vs. Shield into a Tornado Match, make the World Title Match a No DQ, and keep the Cena vs. Wyatt Cage match as is. Add in the Big E vs. Barrett IC match, the Divas Championship and possibly a tag title match and you have yourself a card.

 

Throw in Cesaro/Swagger too.

Overall outside of Evolution/Shield match, it's an underwhelming card for the PPV after WM which has historically been pretty good.

 

The Reason I brought up the Entrance Themes and how they stand musically....

is because "Evolution" is SUCH a great song. That thing is as good a rock and roll song as you can ever hear. of course..it's Lemmy...

But Cesaro's NEW entrance theme....Good God, what a piece of crap. Who thought that was good?

Ont he flip side..HHH has never missed with his entrance themes. "My Time", "The Game", "King of Kings" and "Evolution" are all insanely good SONGS...period.


Somebody needs to intervene..that theme can ruin Cesaro.

 

It's funny, because themes are sometimes made by the person they accompany too. For example, Brock Lesnar's theme is essentially a mixed version of Steve Blackman's theme. And the main hook in Stone Cold Steve Austin's theme is the same as Razor Ramon's.

Kurt Angle's WWE theme was The Patriot's prior to Angle ever being there.

As for Cesaro, I only heard a small part of it, but it didn't really overwhelm me or anything. I think it would be better to just have him come down to no music and Paul Heyman blathering on and on as they walk to the ring. At least for a little while. Perhaps having Paul give him an in-ring intro each time too, just to make him stand out. The other, inherent problem with Cesaro right now is that they don't know whether to make him a face or not. There are shades of grey, and then there is indecisiveness, and right now, they are completely indecisive with what they want to do with him.

Also, RVD got really fat and bad.

 

In fairness to RVD, Sunday was 4/20 so....

So originally if CM Punk didn't walk out on the WWE, Bryan was going to face Sheamus at WM with Sheamus turning heel a few weeks before the show. I'm wondering if the WWE will turn Sheamus heel soon and have him challenge Bryan at the next few PPV/"Special". I dislike Sheamus almost as much as Kane but his character clearly needs a new direction as he's just so plain, boring and stale at this point and with the heel side being so weak now you'd wonder why the WWE isn't going in that direction if they were willing to do that a month or so ago. Just thinking out loud.

 

They certainly need more heels.

 

That could be one route.

Another route I think of (and it's outside the box a bit), is to build Damien Sandow up for that role, with angle being that Damien believes that someone who is high-class and cultured should be the face of the WWE.

 

Yeah that could work but it will take awhile to build him up as they have continued to job him once he won the MiTB case.

While winning and losing isn't the be all to end all you can't consistently have guys lose match after match then expect fans to buy him as a main event threat. Hopefully if they really get behind the IC title again it will help with mid-card talent.
