Melo is like 0-9, and the Knicks slim playoff hopes are about to die in LA.

Their aren't 8 rosters in the pathetic east better than NY's, Mike Woodson? I won't miss ya.

So do you guys stick with Mike Brown or do you admit that you made the same mistake twice?

The city of Miami should pass a law forcing all pro teams that I care about in Miami to be owned by him. At this point, only legal action can save 2/3rds of my sports fandom.

I have no ****ing clue. I can't imagine them sucking it up and letting Brown go while 1 yr into a 5 yr deal, but I'd be happy to see a number of other people in charge.

That's sort of the point IMO. There are two Larry O'Briens that provide evidence that it was a good decision.

    My point.

When they came out..there were plenty of people that were saying that Spo was an idiot for changing a 110 million dollar PF's game so drastically.

Well? Seems like 2 Larry O's later....

Reg season withstanding, this can't be what the Heat thought would happens when signing Greg Oden. Roy Hibbert is on pace for 52 points.

Oden did the worst job of all of our bigs at containing Hibbert. Let him get too deep in the post every possession.

I was surprised, considering Oden when healthy has dominated every time I saw him.

Hard to tell what's really going on, would it shock anybody if this wasn't a ploy.

I still think his game isn't quite there. Only started about 2/3s of the season and then for only 10 a night after a three year layoff. Dudes still rusty and Hibbert made him pay for it.

Listen to the over dramatization by the analysts, obviously Wade was trying to break up Stephenson/Chalmers. Now it's gonna be talked about it for the rest of the game.

Is Rondo to NY ever going to be feasible? And if so how?

Roy Hibbert consistently gets away with murder, he is a hacking fool and it seems officials turn the other cheek. Ih8 Indiana (other than PG) with a passion.

My guess: It would be more likely without Phil then it is with him implementing the triangle. Phil's presence and the triangle being implemented probably dismisses any "star" PG since hes never used a scoring PG instead opting for defenders who can hit the 3 (Ron Harper, BJ Armstrong and Derek Fisher). I havent heard anything outside of what I originally mentioned to you about Kyrie, but what I will say is after thinking about it Im counting it highly unlikely that Phil tries for any big name PG not named Steph Curry who he believes is the best triangle player in the entire NBA.

The thing with the triangle is it does not require or even need a PG. You have a primary ballhandler to bring the ball up and set up the offense but beyond that its based on ball movement and fundamentals. At 29 Im not sure Rondo becomes the shooter he needs to be in order to be effective in this offense. Guys like George Hill, Kyle Lowry and even Mike Conley to a degree fit the pedigree much more then Rondo does even if most of those guys arent on his level because they can play without the ball.

When they hired Phil, bigs and wings became the priority. Expect something like both Gasols and a 2 guard not on the roster imo with a PG along the lines of what I mentioned above at some point. Thats what hes going to go for. Bigs with skills and wing players who can slash to the hoop. He'll want Anthony as a traditional 3 imo

So Wade's three that got called off was actually good and West's desperation three was a travel....nevermind the no calls....( which were plenty). Heat lose by 1 at 32-4 indiana.

    Okay.....

    Pacers get this officiating..why again?

Phil is gonna want a support pg instead of a ball dominant one. Kyrie off the ball in the triangle would be murder.

So youre thinking a Kyrie/Shumpert backcourt long term? Because someone in the back court has to have some height and be able to defend someone and THJr hasn't shown any ability to defend.

I'm not sure Kyrie can be as good off the ball but given the lack of great 2 guards I probably can't completely dismiss it.

Outside the box here but I can see Demarcus Cousins as a great fit for the triangle. A C who averages 5 APG and can post or play from the high post has to have Phil thinking about how he could be a monster in that offense.

Phil Jackson needs a point who can shoot the 3 and a PF who rebounds. It's not that complicated.

Phil isn't a coach anymore, is he still going to find someone to implement HIS system? If so, this sounds an awful lot like Bill hiring Jeff and Tony then drafting 6'4 slow guys who played in a major conference BS.

Yeah..I am really curious. They have no stars that are interesting to watch....their fan base is terrible and only has 23 sellouts this year...and their whole "schtick" is fouling and getting away with it, since they can't score.

At this point it's such a given that the officials revert back to the mid 90's fouling guide when they step foot in Indiana, that you basically need to prepare for it.

I have been watching basketball for years. What Indy does is not what they "used" to do in the 90's.

In the 90's they fouled HARD ...AT THE BALL. Pacers don't even do that.

The Pacers just grab you as you are going to dunk. They make non-basketball plays and just get common fouls. If that happened back in the 90's....there was a fist fight.

Since time immemorial, I was always taught that a hard foul was directed at the BALL. You swipe at the ball as if to break your opponents wrists.

What the Pacers (and Bulls) do to Lebron/Wade is just stupid. Since when is grabbing somebody a basketball play?
