I dont think the Jets should give up on Gino. I think he showed them just enough in week 17 for them to start thinking about extending his contract and locking up some big money in him. I think if they showed that level of confidence in him it could be just what he needs to get him to the next level. They should be thinking long term cap commitment with Gino.
You're acting like Geno had a whale of a game. 190 yards and zero passing TDs is hardly remarkable. The entire Dolphins organization melted down those last two games, but that still does not mean the Bills and Jets are better. At best you could say all three are evenly matched. I don't think so, but it's arguable.
As opposed to completing 50% of your passes and throwing 3 INTs while being sacked Zero times? Geno isn't great but if you watched your first NFL game ever that day you would be inclined to think its #17 that is terrible.
For reference it isn't Jet hate. Before the draft I stated that Geno is a heaping sack of turd at the QB positiom and that I'd laugh at whoever drafted him. I'm so happy it was the Jets. One game or even two doesn't make a career in either direction. Geno routinely misses WRs 20 yards down field by throwing out of bounds. Hes terrible. You or I would make better NFL prospects most likely.
I agree. But he split with Ryan Tannehill last year and one would assume he will atleast get a little better. Point being, im scared of NY and Buff. NE is a given. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
Glad I watched all previous 15 games then. One decent game is not enough to go crazy on Geno, specially when he looked downright atrocious throughout the season. For instance if you flip it backwards and look at the game in NY, Tannehill completing 65% of his passes for 331 yards and 2 TDs vs Geno 50% for 79 yards and one INT and getting benched, I would say that fits better into the "thoroughly dominated" category than the one you said. I never denied Tannehill had an awful game, but so did the rest of team. The Jets were running all over the defense. The whole organization melted those last two games.
You guy's are taking what I said: Geno Smith can beat the Dolphins and turning it into: Geno Smith is a good QB. Again, the Jets are very capable of beating Miami. We all saw it happen. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
No, I've been following along. You hinted that you don't think Geno sucks. You used our second game against the Jets as proof. It was shown to you that Geno sucked that game. Then you doubled down on the ridiculous by trying to imply anyone who only saw that game would think Geno was better than RT as if that means anything or proves your point. You're felating Geno over one game. A game he sucked in. That's just silly.
Imo Miami has better player talent but the Jets have a better coach. The Jets over performed and exceded most peoples expectations and the Dolphins under performed for the season as a whole. That is a coaching issue.
If you were really following you would know this started because Im not confident we are the 2nd or maybe even the 3rd best team in the East...I stated I felt the Jets with their young talent will improve. Then it was said the Jets will NEVER be a threat with Geno Smith at QB....well....they beat us in our house in a game we needed and that garbage QB had a much better game than our potential franchise QB. The POINT is the Jets even with Geno at the helm can beat the Miami Dolphins. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
Yawn. You chose to frame it around Geno Smith and the game in December. You keep defending Geno. That's you with your hands cupping his balls. No one is misunderstanding that. We beat ourselves that game. You know it. You just want to keep cradling Geno's nuts....maybe because they keep your hands warm or something.
I guess every board needs a bitter old angry man with poor interpretation skills. I still love ya. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
Like you I really wanted Cordarelle Patterson. But Ireland never drafted wide receivers high. He was afraid of drafting receivers as a virgin is of his first time. That is why he went after Brandon Marshall and Mike Wallace. Brandon Marshall was a 4th round pick btw and Mike Wallace was a 3rd rounder. Instead of paying a ransom for receiver talent another team developed we should have been developing our own. Hartline is the most successful WR we have drafted and developed since the Parcell era began. We need to identify, draft and develop WR and TE talent. With the talent we have we almost went to the playoffs. Imagine if we had drafted Tyler Eifert or Cordarelle Patterson. We would be in so much better shape.
Yeah Keller and even Brandon Gibson were looking good before getting injured. I still think we should have drafted a wr or te last year when the draft was loaded with talent.
