Duhon will only be there for two years so its not a big deal. Didn't Rodriguez just sign with the Blazers?
idk...nelly's system fits him pretty good and golden state is a lot better than new york.....i think ellis stays in golden state. ellis being a starting pg for any team is not a good look
sasha vujabitch is better than duhon and he is making 1/3 of what duhon is making obviously trying to build cap space for lebron nah thats fellow spaniard rudy fernandez, rodriguez is from the same draft as brandon roy and aldridge.....
LMAO. I don't know how much better he is. He tends to have a poor shot selection to go along with so-so defense. Duhon isn't much better, he shot a pedestrian shoot percentage last year. Damn Fernandez and Rodriguez, I always get them two mixed up.
Well they need bigs so Randolph would be one option though I doubt it would go anywhere unless we gave Lee with him which I would do since I think Ellis is better then both and more a part of the answer then the question. Another option would be Marbury since they need a PG for Nelson's uptempo offense. Because of the size of his contract obviously multple players would need to be involved including Lee. Most likely though i think Don Nelson would love Nate Robinson as a Pg in his offense. Hes a mini Baron Davis who just needs to get his head out of his butt. Getting full time minutes might do that for him.
Its funny I dont think they overpaid for Duhon. Duhon showed on the rare occassions he got good minutes that he can do a lot better and most of all will play good perimeter defense which no one on this team currently does aside from balkman and the atrocious Mardy Collins. Plus Duhon will also stretch the defense as he can knock down a perimeter shot.
i just don't see it happening..knicks dont have enough IMO....randolph i don't think golden state would touch with a 10 foot pole, same with curry.....none of the other guys really have enough value, not even lee(new contract) and crawford would be enough IMO
I'm ok with Vujacic's shot selection since he needs to warm up. He still has a way to go with defensive positioning because he can be a pesky defender. A lot of guys get infuriated with his defense and act out (see Carmelo). Was trying to see who else decided to get themselves called a flagrant/tech/ejection on Vujacic's behalf on wikipedia and found out Vujacic lives in my area. Go figure.
How much better is Golden State then NY without Baron Davis? Hardly. Plus you have to factor in that with this year likely to be Nelsons last there is no long term stability in GS where as NY has a new regime with a coach players love and a GM with a successful track record.
I don't think Randolph would ever end up in GS unless Nellie left which he is expected to after this year but we don't know who will be his replacement and the philosophy he will run. I like Lee but can he be a starter in this league? Would Nelson take Marbury's attitude? I like Nate Robinson but I have the same question about him as Lee. Can he be a full time starter in this league? I think Ellis will eventually end up with NY in his career. I would be surprised if he ends up there this off-season. What I could see happening is Ellis accepting a one-year tender offer from the Warriors this off-season and then next year, he can leave for NY. The Warriors will have a whole new staff and they may not be running the run and gun style that they are now. But it is Chris Mullin running it for Golden State and he makes bone-headed moves in the off season. We'll have to see how it goes down.
I think they overpaid for him but he's only there for two years so its not too big of a deal. He is a good defender like you said though. I like him as a player. The only problem with him I have is that he doesn't shoot a high percentage. He shoots 38 percent for his career and %35 from the perimeter.
He's also part Serbian, part Slovenian. I didn't know he was Serbian lol. I thought he was just Slovenian. I'm part Serbian too. Serbian and Bosnian to be exact. Crazy ehh?
Donnie Walsh is no Isiah Thomas. So to make that statement is pretty bad. Walsh has shown he has a brain or you dont last 20+ years in this industry
Danillo Gallinari and his translation to the NBA done by Hollinger: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?entryID=3460365&name=hollinger_john
Gallinari is going to be a stud. Him = Peja with a post game and definitely not as soft. Ive been of the opinion since March that he would have been in contention for the top pick had he been an American college player and I will stand by that until proven wrong. Gallinari is the best Euro in a long time and virtually everywhere Ive read says hes a better prospect then Bargnani at the same stage. Im pretty comfortable in that assessment. Walsh struck gold with this pick.
I'm not sure if he can shoot the three like Peja but he can shoot overall. He is a good player that has talent in every category except language. I think hes better than Bargnani but not better than Nowitzki. Poor man Nowitzki is how I would rate him.
I disagree that GS is a playoff team. Losing Baron Davis and gaining Corey Maggette is a net downgrade, and they weren't a playoff team last year. Plus the Blazers and Clippers are going to be significantly better, and I don't see any of the playoff teams from this year falling. Moreover, Monta Ellis is not, and never will be, a point guard. Just because he looks like a point guard and likes to dribble the ball does NOT make him a point guard. He's a very undersized shooting guard, and a very talented one at that. But if he's running your offense, you're in trouble.
For the purpose of the trade, Lee's 2008 salary would be all that mattered. The Knicks couldn't sign him to an extension then trade him right away; they'd have to trade him, and then let the new team sign the extension. It's not a sign and trade if the player's not already a free agent. If the Knicks trade Lee, it's going to be as an inducement to get someone to take Randolph's oversized contract.
I think GS can still be a playoff team. They were in it last year until the last game when Nellie benched Baron Davis. Blazers will be good and the Clippers will probably get the seven or eight spot but no more. I think the three could be battling it out until the last games of the season. Monta Ellis is not a PG, I'm well aware of that. BUT, he will be moved to PG if he was to stay by the Warriors. There probably not going to get Maggette anyway so they will be out of the playoffs for sure.
Without Baron Davis the Warriors are toast. Maggette is far from the answer. They have to have a PG to run that O.
NBA News: Clippers Forward Elton Brand is expected to make a decision on his future in the next 24 to 48 hours. He is expected to be re-signing with the Clippers. There has been a lot of discussion on the contract that he may be accepting. Originally, the Clippers offered Brand a $70 year deal over a span of 5 years. The Clippers have upped their offer to approximately $80 million over the five years. Brand may accept the $70 million because of the players that the Clippers would have to waive or renounce their rights due if he took the larger deal. Some of the players that may have to be waived are Shaun Livingston, Quintin Ross and Corey Maggette who is not expected back. One thing that will raise the possbility of Brand staying in LA is a no-trade clause. Donald Sterling may be willing to offer that to Brand to keep him. Nuggets free agent Anthony Carter will accept the Nuggets one year offer. The deal is worth roughly $1.2 million Former Blazers Forward Darius Miles will be attempting to make a comeback from a once labeled career-ending injury. Miles worked out with the Celtics and was very impressive. Miles has been suspended the first ten games of the upcoming NBA season due to violation of the drug policy. Spurs Manu Ginobili will have an MRI on his ankle to reveal if it has improved health wise. If the MRI shows that it hasn't, the Spurs are expected to ask Manu to not take part in the Olympics. The Clippers keep impressing this off-season. After verbally agreeing to contract terms with Baron Davis, the Clippers have signed first round pick Eric Gordon to a deal. The terms of the deal are not available. Gordon has already fit in with his new teammates. Gordon states that he is familiar with the team. The Cavaliers have offered Corey Maggette the full level exception. The deal starts at $5.8 million. SI.com
I agree. Whats interesting is that the first team interested in him, the Magic, did not offer him anything lol.
True enough. He'd be perhaps the biggest MLE bargain since Chauncey Billups. If I were Golden State, I'd try to sneak in an offer just above the mid-level, say, starting at $6.5M a year. The extra money might be just enough to get it done.
Why? Well they're suppose to offer him close to ten million a year if they lose out on Brand which they are expected to. If the information is true, then it will be interesting. I say if the information is true because some reports of offers from the Warriors have been false (i.e Arenas offer).
I just thought he was a terrible college player...but the lack of coaching prob. hurt, plus he left after one season and wasnt that good during and still went top ten.
Terrible college player? He averaged 21 points a game and shot %43 percent which isn't bad. He did have two bad months of basketball at one point but those two months were when he got injured and played through it. I think he's a good player.
But he will be a more important player for the Cavs (they need him more). It's also easier to get in the playoffs in the east. He will get more noteriety with Lebron than in SA.
I agree. The reason I said he'll be a Spur is because they are in serious discussions. If he wants to go to the East, he'll go to Boston. I think he is going for a shot at the ring and Spurs seem to be always in the hunt. If he goes for money, my bet is that he lands with the Warriors. Detroit is now also interested in Maggette.
Better chance at getting a ring in S.A. though. He'll also get better teamates, better coaching and a better long term contract, IMO.
Yes, but I was thinking more along the lines of when some of the older guys on their team retire, if he is still there. If he signs with S.A.
