Bleah. I hate Mondays after a three-day weekend. Luckily, I'm off Friday!

 

Doc the worst for me was when I worked at the U of Miami a few years ago and I had to work to mid-week days inbetween Christmas & New Years.

The campus clears out about 18th to 20th of December, so all U of Miami employees always get 24th, 25th & 26th off, and then get 31st and 1st off. But what often happens is one of those days and sometimes both are on a Sat or Sun. Which means you get another day off to make up for it. That means often times you have to work say on the 28th and 29th. Some people with seniority can get them off with "personal days" but if you are down the totem pole at work you are stuck. As I was Asst Mgr of the Help & Customer Service Desk for the Physical Plant, one of the Mgrs and at least one Cust Service Rep HAD to be there, even though NO ONE was basically on campus, either as a student or office employee, or professor.

At least we had cable TV in the room and could watch a bowl game or something of the sort, while we sat there and twiddled our thumbs.

 

I was a townie who had to work my college radio station the day after Christmas. I couldn't get the power on until a half our after my shift was supposed to start. Plus, all the news stories I kept pulling off the wire were horribly depressing. Bad day.

 

I will have you know thats my birthday. Cant be a bad day ever.
