I hate computers. I spent my entire night trying to put in an aftermarket CPU fan in only to find out that the stupid thing wouldn't fit on the motherboard... not a compatibility issue, the goddamn thing just wouldn't fit. /rant
Draft order is up to date except for Sea / SD trade tonight. Rumor has it that Todd is pulling a Todd.
few more tugs and I'm almost there. Demon seed, cast thee out with furious anger on thy Paul's curtains.
That number makes me happy. Ill have cap to improve my defense while keeping my entire offense intact
Of course, but who said ill be going after those big money players everyone will splurge the extra on?
Yup with the extra cap room this year and the ability to restructure.....I see prices going up about 10-15%
The ability to restrcuture will add close to 7-10 mil for most teams, essentially making the salary cap close to $140mil
I remember back in the day, we used base salaries only and the cap was 65-70M. That was when NFLPA had salary information though.
http://www.thephins.com/forums/showthread.php?74339-Compensatory-Picks People can basically take these numbers and add about 15% off the top now in guesses. Probably more like 20% for the top few players that people will go nuts for. Mike Wallace for $25.8 million in today's cap? ;p
I wish the old leagues were still viewable. Id like to look back at my old teams. One trade that stands out that I remember wa Demeco Ryan to Paul who had the fins for crowder and hartline and last minute he asked me to toss in Foster and I did. At the point foster was an unknown, oops.
I think i started in 09. Dang can't believe this is already my 6th year...Really glad I joined in 09 when you needed a replacement for Redskins GM. What year did you start commishing? 09 - Redskins 10 - Texans 11 - Falcons 12 - NYG 13 - Bengals
I really don't remember. I think 2006 maybe? I remember having the Seahawks when Hasselbeck, Walter Jones, and Shaun Alexander were UFAs. I think my first team was in 2005 though as the Colts. I think Greg and thats what she said are the only people who go back that far. Maybe biggtyme13 and Sean... but most everyone else joined when we switched to ThePhins.
We had regulars like there are now. Some I do wonder what happened to them. Regan is one that stands out.
Thanks for including me in this, It's been super fun. Also, a good learning experience and it's making more interested in my the draft and generally more aware of other teams players. However, it's quite time consuming, and mind consuming, i go to sleep thinking about my team and wake hoping i have PM's with answers to my various trade requests....
Me too. My sleep has been cut in half or more, I feel I need to be here all hours to get deals done since you all have varying schedules.
I should start messaging you guys late at night like five times... you'll wake up and be so excited for about three seconds.
Hey now I was over at FH too during 05/06. First team I ever took was the Raiders cause I had to take over for someone, my big splash then was $5 million on Ken Lucas.
He was going to med school or something, and probably got stuck doing clinicals and all that. Someone else was getting into dental school
Indeed....but it really helps with the long lulls between the usual Miami playoff misses, free agency and the draft. Especially if your anything like me and ONLY follow the NFL. Thankful for smartphones. I get so much trading done overnight while I'm at work. My poor PM box though..I've had to clear it about 5 times already. Shhhhh. Like Bieber we don't like to take claim for Schisno.
I think Seattle overpaid for Cam Wake. I think 1.25 would have been enough. Getting Gresham (whom I actually am not a big fan of) and Avril is a very nice added bonus.
In Todd's defense, he has been distracted a lot lately....people in the Michael Sam thread are calling him a sinner for having a boyfriend.
If I had Wake, I wouldn't have traded him for 1.25 by itself. I think he would've been long gone if Silver were willing to accept something on that level. I've been offered more than that for Kam Chancellor, and I'd put Wake's value ahead of Chancellor's, especially with him being a pass rusher. I paid a little extra b/c I was also paying for my Dline and Seattle's continued defensive dominance rather than just Cam alone. I wanted one of the NFL's premiere pass rushers for that LEO position who's primary job is about getting after the QB, so I grabbed the best man available.
that's debatable since I never see you during the week with your makeup off. I only know you as Sheila.
