    He's a free agent.

    Will be franchised.

    Move along

Don't hold your breath waiting for this to be reported elsewhere.

This troll couldn't even bother to get the process right or fake a source

Bro, you can't "release" a free agent.

His contract is expired. There is nothing to "release" him from.

Now if the Saints don't resign him or franchise him then he would be free, but that's not going to happen

You can franchise someone who has no contract with you?

Of course. That's the whole point of the franchise tag, to keep someone you haven't signed to a new contract from hitting the market.

Graham can't go anywhere right now because he's still Saints property until the tag deadline.

Did you really not know this or did you just gave to question anything I posted?

Don't you have to do the franchise before the contract expires? If the contract is up, you're a free agent...right?

Nope. Same situation with us and Brent Grimes. Grimes is a free agent but we can franchise him if we want to.

No. His contract is expired but he can't be a free agent until the new league year starts.

In the meantime the Saints have an exclusive negotiating window and can franchise him if no deal is reached.

Louis Delmas is a free agent right now because he was released from an unexpired contract

The league year (when contracts are officially up) doesn't end until sometime in March. There's a window to franchise a player before that, I think that's coming up in a week or so.

Not sure about exact dates, but that's the gist.

It was literally them giving him a handy for not having to start Nolan Carroll and Jimmy Wilson the whole season.

Just for ****s and giggles, if he is franchised, what draft pick would we have to give up for JG?

I'd give up a first and a fat contract any day for him.

Carroll is going to be a good DB for someone, I hope it's the Dolphins. He was obviously hurt for most of 2013, looked like a rib, ab or maybe shoulder, but he toughed it out for the most part. He's the kinda guy you keep around if at all possible.

I worry some team is gonna blow him away with a big offer. At his age I'd love to have him but not for a ridiculous number.

Carroll was 9th among corners for lowest passer rating into his coverage with a 65. He allowed a 47.8 comp pct, allowed 2 TD catches, had 3 picks and 7 pass breakups. I hope it's the Dolphins too.

No BS I love your PFF insights. I actually have a subs to their site but I only use it for snap counts. I love the way he has improved his game. He reminds me of Soliai, at first he'd come in and I'd hold my breath waiting for something bad to happen and over a few years he became a guy we could rely on. Not a great player but a dependable one, probably the most improved guy on the team over the past 3 years.

He takes a lot of **** around here but I thought he was pretty good last season. Sure, he leaves some platys out there but he is at WORST a pretty damn good nickel corner.

I think his ceiling is more than a player like Solai or Starks, meaning I'll go higher for him then anyone else..
