    WTF are you talking about?

Putting in a request to speak to someone does not mean you are definitely going to hire them. They wanted to interview all the candidates they could. In most places that is considered smart business, but in Dolphin Fan *** Backwards Hateatopia that is considered a negative because its indecisive and "striking out".

    :pity:

I can respect your opinion but like I said the truth always falls somewhere in between. I expect there are concerns by some GM candidates but including the whole lot at times seems piling on. Take Scot McCloughlin for instance, to put him in the group of declined candidates just seems wrong. If I'm to believe everything the media writes as truth then there is no way he is interested in leaving Seattle at this time. So the refusal of Seattle to allow him an interview (at his request) suggests piling on when it sounds like he would turn down most/all requests at this time. Yet everyone keeps bringing him up as proof of Miami's dysfunction.

Pareto's law holds true in just about every situation. You have to weed through 80% of the agendas to get to the 20% substance. See the bullying scandal and how its gone back-and-forth in the media from a witch hunt to everyday normal NFL banter. We'll know once the report is released but I expect the truth falls somewhere in between.

Do I believe the Phins ownership is dysfunctional, yes. Would I want most of the media and fans with me at the craps table, no. Karma is b**ch.

I agree, I'm just saying those guys would have been offered the job before Hickey. everyone was saying it was a joke that he was even interviewed to be honest.

They may have been, but do you understand that guys like gamble, decosta & mcgloughan turn everyone down because they are happy where they are at and not because of any reason specific to us?

That means only one candidate turned us down and it looks like he never wanted to leave where he was at (Caesrio).

Yeah, he used us. Read something that made me say that before his second interview.

Decosta and McCloughan I'll give you, as for Gamble I think we could have gotten an interview with him if we didn't have the front office turmoil and Philbin wasn't tagged as safe. remember George Paton in Minnesota turned down an interview with us, so that's another one.

bottom line is we didn't have a chance at the best candidates because Ross wasn't willing to do what it took to land them...he's too loyal to men who hadn't done **** to deserve it. and so the interview process turned into a joke, and after crossing off 8 or 9 names off the list, we ended up with Hickey.

Its not the bottom line if you're speculating. You are speculating.

The bottom line is 1 and only 1 candidate turned down the job he was offered and he did it for other reasons. The media invented the notion of a weird structure. 13 other teams don't let the GM fire the HC, including both Super Bowl teams.
