Completely concur. This is a disaster.

Just unbelievable. And Hickey … wow. What a great record he had at Tampa Bay! Success story after success story at that franchise!

Then, next year, after Philbin is fired, we will be saddled with looking for a coach who wants to work with Hickey - who will be sure to draw the top candidates in with his record at Tampa Bay, right?

I've never seen such ineptitude, except the Raiders but then, Al Davis was running the team with Dementia! What is Ross' excuse?

If I were Gaine I wouldn't stay simply because it is well known the Hickey sucks and that he will inevitably damage your career by association. Hickey's principal claim to fame, according to Tampa Bay fans, is scouting Martin Gramatica. He is otherwise a man who played a direct role in a team record in the neighborhood of 28-52 and went through multiple head coaches.

Gaines' stock, paradoxically, has not been higher since he was a semi-serious candidate for a GM position and one who seem well regarded by the folks that reported to him. He'll land on his feet somewhere.

Ross is 73 years old, so maybe a touch of dementia is in play. After all, when you call Brian Xanders Bob Sanders repeatedly in an interview, you have to hope it's just a loose screw.
