Blue Rapids / Waterville are towns in the same is in the same county as my hometown. I've been to their high school dozens of times. These winners are really doing Kansas proud. Men is an overstatement. They were both 19, 18 when the incident happened, and just graduated from high school. http://www.wibw.com/13newsat10/headlines/22838739.html Despite how progressive things seem to be, there's always some idiot out there making everyone look bad. On behalf of Kansans everywhere, I have to apologize for these douchebags.
It just sucks because I'm sure someone will invariably ask if I know where Blue Rapids is ... and while I don't know these two personally it just makes the entire area look stupid. Can't believe this type of crap still happens in 2008.
Its not that unbelievable to me as I live in a small southern town and believe me racism is alive and well and it goes beyond African Americans to people from Mexico, the Middle East, Asia, etc. Its sad to see how people can feel and do the things they do to other races and still feel like they're a good person.
This could happen anywhere. As long as there is ignorance there will be hatred, as long as there is hatred there will be racism. My home state of FL has had many incidents like this. Sad.
looks like these morons might be the ones leaving waterville and blue rapids... They better watch out for the corn-hole-butt in their federal pound me in the *** prison...
"was tied and taunted with racial epithets" This goes way beyond taunting...this is physical, why would the paper try to position this as a sticks and stones thing:
I always found the "Go back where you came from" saying hilarious when you consider how black people came to this country in the first place. (Ironcially hilarious not comedically hilarious)
