I've not finished GTAIV yet so how do I get to see both endings (I'm guessing save before the last mission or go back to the last autosave before the mission)?
You'll be asked by a particular character to do a deal involving a character Niko hates. Niko will make a couple of calls and then have to decide. Save your game right there (don't autosave, do a regular manual save in a separate file) and then drive to one of the two places on your radar.
Thanks. I didn't save between the Playboy X/Dwayne mission and had to see the alternate ending on Youtube, so this is what I figured I would have to do.
That is not the choice to determine the ending you get. Spoiler It is the choice between deal or revenge
I know, I was just saying that when I did the Playboy X/Dwayne mission I forgot to save so that I could see both endings.
The Playboy X/Dwayne choice has no bearing on either of the two endings. The choice you have to make is at the very end of the game. You're about halfway through.
I know that. I just wanted to see both choices in the Playboy X/Dwayne situation play out. Just as I do with the Francis/Derrick situation later on (I know that's not the ending). I just want to see the results of all my choices. I understand that the ending is separate from those events. A little miss communication is happening I believe.
There aren't any consequences either way. There are benefits depending on who you help, but no consequences.
While we're on the topic, is it just me or is Vladivostok FM the best radio station in the game? I don't care if I can't understand a word they're saying, those are some good songs.
Actually I'm not a big fan of any of the radio stations; in fact that is where I think GTAIV comes up short versus the rest of the GTA series from GTAIII on. If I had to pick a favorite it would be Liberty Rock Radio. Also to reference my earlier posts I understand that the choices I make don't have consequences (except for the final mission) but I just like to see how the different situations play out. Ex. how Playboy X was executed vs. how Dwayne was etc.
That's Noo Yawk for you. GTA3's radio was horrible too, but GTA4's has some bright spots. Vice City is still the radio king, and I hope the next game in the GTA franchise returns to Vice City in a modern-day setting. That's understandable, but there really isn't much difference with Playboy vs Dwayne. The game really hints that you're supposed to help Dwayne.
Agreed and Agreed. Vice City did have great radio and I loved the classic rock station in San Andreas (maybe there is something about the numbered GTA games (III & IV) that means bad radio stations).
