- Rishard Matthews dropping a gimme first down and possible 20 yard gain. - Tannehill missing a wide open Wallace.....again. - Kevin Coyle stunting our defensive linemen out of position all game. And....NEVER realizing he has the talent to play straight up. - Wallace not adjusting his route to draw a penalty in the endzone..allowing millner to make a play. - Offensive playcalling that allowed millner to jump a route - Ryan Tannehill playing his worst game when he was needed most. Fire Ireland. Fire Coyle. Fire Sherman. Force Philbin to reorganize or fire him too.
:joephilbinclappinggif: He and the rest of the coaching staff need to be the first to go, imo. Tannehill didn't play well but he got zero help as usual.
I agree there needs to be major changes. However, the same culture of losing just won't go away. We need to find a way to change that entire culture.
agreed, There was no reason to adjust. Any other marquee QB in the league the flag is thrown before the ball hits the ground.
Philbin and staff have to go I hate it but it is so obvious If we stay the course I am not sure i can support this team next year. I been a fan since I was 3
I agree with all of this. Choke job. Philbin should get another year, but others need to be fired. Starting with Ireland.
And this game changed when Tannehill missed a wide open Wallace for 6. Would have been 14-0. Disgusting.
I'll add Mike Wallace falling away from the ball and not coming back for it, allowing the Dee Milner interception while we're in scoring position.
Yep..no doubt. We choked. I just can't comprehend..the flat laissez faire attitude the team took. Mind boggling. I think we have talent...but..seriously doubt the coaching. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
I really don't see how you can possibly retain Philbin after two gutwrenching losses against inferior competition with a playoff spot on the line. I genuinely can't. He needs to go. There's a reason you have a coach to begin with, and Joe Philbin plainly demonstrated that he can't cut it. And heck, I like the guy. But he needs to go. Ireland, however, is a different situation. Would I fire him? Heck, yes. I'd have fired him a year ago. But I wouldn't fire him based on Miami being outcoached by the Jets and Bills. That's Joe Philbin's business, not Ireland's. Fire his *** for being a sub par GM, I'm fine with that. But don't fire him over tonight.
I saw the best pass protection all season I saw a complete commitment to a struggling running game ultimately pay dividends by sticking with Lamar Miller. I saw good run defense against a team averaging 4.4 ypc. I saw Ryan Tannehill, who has always played better than this, completely choke with innacurate passing. Plenty of reasons the Dolphins are 8-8, the reason they lost to the Jets today: Ryan Tannehill
Defense definitely didn't fold and let Geno Smith look like a great QB today. Face it, this team **** the bed on offense and defense. Plenty of blame to go around to every unit today.
We have little talent and a coaching staff that is learning on the job. Accept the fact that Philbin was the fourth choice, that no coach worth his salt wants to work with Ireland, and that Ireland is a bad finder of talent at the top of the food chain in addition to being a world-famous a**hole. Accept that the Super Bowl years were 40 years ago and that history and tradition don't win football games. This team is where it was when Shula was first hired. There is nothing left from the Shula and Marino years. Time to do it again, from scratch.
He knew it too by his body language, he knew he could have blown it wide open with that TD and he blew it.
fire everyone. spend your time picking the right GM. If you succeed with the GM all the rest will follow
Why is Mike Wallace allergic to diving for the ball? I know it was an overthrow, but if he lays out it's certainly catch-able. His effort is ****, and has been **** all season.
He did not play well but Wallace slipped on int and didn't battle for balls , again , never laid out for a pretty good deep ball... sure 17 wasn't good but got virtually no help. He is far from a concern imho. BLACK MONDAY . No more pretending , no more well next year ... Fire Ireland , let the new GM fire all or any coaches he wants.
How's that work? IMO we had more talent than NY and the match ups were in our favor. But our game plan stunk and the players got out worked. Why does Philbin get a pass?
Geno Smith made some plays today, he looked far from anything I'd consider "great." Never blame the defense for a loss when the offense only scores 7.
Adam Beasley @AdamHBeasley There's a sense in the Dolphins locker room that Mike Sherman will and should be gone.
Armando Salguero @ArmandoSalguero After this collapse Jeff Ireland is not locked in and Joe Philbin is no longer locked in to coming back.
Omar Kelly ✔ @OmarKelly "We didn't finish strong, plain and simple. We didn't finished the way we wanted to. Obviously none of us saw this coming," Tannehill said. Actually, a lot of us did.
With the exception of one season this has been a losing culture for some time now. And I am not sure where that changes. Ireland is kind of like the crap going on with his former team the cowboys. Not grossly incompetent, but gross enough. What you would refer to as "Luke warm". Just a very dissatisfying taste.
Armando Salguero @ArmandoSalguero I asked Dolphins owner Stephen Ross about keeping or firing anyone: "We're going to look at everything."
If Philbin is indeed let go I wouldn't mind talking to Mike Shanahan since he will be canned tomorrow, I think he can still be a hellvua coach and Washington was a bad fit. Remember he didn't want to move up and take RG3, he wanted Tannehill.
Because I don't believe in firing a head coach after his first two seasons, unless the team is just terrible. We aren't, we're mediocre.
