Who knows but the man has been through hell in a few years time. First you lose your son, then you take a HC job with all the pressure of the world, then you have the national media spectacle of Martin/Incognito. You finally have a chance to say we prevailed and make the playoffs and you show up and lay an egg. I would have to say I would need more than a ****ing hug. He is probably the only person who has had the **** kicked out of him worse than Tannehill this year. He might not be coach of the year, but he is one hell of a man. Besides, an interesting tweet is something like: "That's strange, I don't remember eating corn."
Excellent post. Im indifferent on Philbin as a coach but he definitely has my respect as a person. I'd be surprised if be doesn't get a 3rd year and I'm on board with that.
Being a good, tough person doesn't automatically make him a good football coach though. Respect for his emotional toughness is not enough to warrant job security. We shouldn't keep a HC simply because he's been through a lot of personal and professional turmoil.
No one said he should be kept due to what he's been through. The point was who the hell cares who he hugged and when he hugged them? If that is interesting to you then have fun watching the next riveting episode of The View.
Im honestly suprised the first thought anyone had..especially the *** that tweeted it to.begin with..didnt stop for one second and tthink the man might be having a hard time at this time of year being he lost his son only two years earlier at this time of year
This thread ought to be on the Soap Opera Channel...Hell's Jingling Bells, most of the women and some of the men in my parish hug me after worship, and even if we meet each other in WallyWorld. It's relational, not necessarily concupiscatory.
Oh I do for many reasons. It shows the closeness of Philbin & Aponte. Those rumors of their being on one side and Ireland on the other just gained another level of credibility.
Probably should have been concupiscent... but that seemed too tame... I was probably reaching for an adverbial form of the word, and I'm not sure if one exists..
With Ross as blind as I believe he is, I can see this happening. The media would devour it too, which would make Ross happy, as his team would be, at least for 15 minutes, relevant.
