Ha, after playing for the clippers anythings possible in terms of trading money for a ring. (sorry clipper fans)
Kings Forward Ron Artest believes it was a mistake to not opt out of his contract with the Kings. He stated in an email message that he doesn't seem himself with the Kings past the 2008-09 season. ESPN
eh, coming from a Knicks fan it's alright. Your franchises dysfunction has taken a lot of heat off the Clippers the last couple years.
Note to Artest, you can still exercise the clause. Nothing's stopping you except having to say you changed your mind.
Davis poised to provide silver lining to clouds surrounding the Clippers http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writers/steve_aschburner/07/01/clippers/index.html?eref=T1
5 years and $33.5M for Udrih. It's not the Clippers who are the losers in that deal, that's for sure. This is Marko Jaric, part 2. No one is better at pissing away their MLE on mediocrity than the Kings. Not even the Knicks. (Yeah, I said it!) The thing is, at least the Knicks care about winning. Donald T Sterling cares not a whit about whether the Clippers win. At least James Dolan, idiot that he is, wants to win, and keeps trying to get it right. That counts for something. Any attentive owner would have fired Elgin Baylor long ago.
celtics offered full MLE http://www.boston.com/sports/basketball/celtics/extras/celtics_blog/2008/07/celtics_make_of.html
I think Orlando made the same offer. He's hoping the Clippers will do a sign and trade so he can get more money.
the magic have offered the mle as well. should be worth more than the others as there is no state income tax
Big get by the Clippers. It won't put them above the Lakers, but it probably puts them in the playoffs especially if /when Brand resigns. Big blow to the Warriors. Monta and Biedrins won't be able to hold that team together.
Yeah I agree. The only reason he wouldn't sign is if he decides to go for a championship contender in Bostn, imo.
Not as close as Boston is and I think he wants to win now. I am not saying that the magic could not win now but I just think the Boston Celtics are closer but the Orlando Magic are close I would say 2 - 3 years.
Probably true, but I think Orlando's window for winning is larger than the Celtics, who probably only have 1 or 2 years left to win again.
Tell you what though the Clippers better keep Maggette and Brand or this move to get B Diddy is entirely pointless. A line up with Baron-Gordon-Maggette-Brand-Kkaman is elite potentially. Without Maggette its just an ok lineup with 2 questions at PF and SG.
Maggette will not be back with the Clippers. They don't have the money to sign all three of them. Its either Davis/Brand or Maggette/Brand. They have chosen Davis and Brand.
When I said 1-2 I meant 2-3, I think 4 is stretching it but I guess the big 3 have all been pretty healthy in their careers so perhaps.
