Official Dolphin vrs Steelers game thread...yeah that's right..

Not true. His highest compliment is "...he's a football player."

 

This game scares me! Why?

1. We don't tackle well, Big Ben does not go down easy, when he keeps the play alive he makes big plays.

2. Although we have done much better this year, we struggle against TE's, Heath Miller is a beast.

3. Steelers may not be ranked high in rushing, but watching the last 5 games they have been much better, Bell has run hard and is playing.

This will not be an easy game. We have to throw to win.

 

Just hope they quiet the crowd, get out to a comfortable lead and force some turnovers...

 

What interests me about this game is I believe we are more physically talented then the Stealers and are beginning to put it all together.

On the road in Pitt, with snow, will be a challenge, BUT the emergence of OVernon alongside Wake, and our DT's vs a weakened offensive line clearly favors us.

Real question is, will our relative inexperience come back to haunt us?

Penalties, turnovers, key drops, those are the things that we have to not let happen to win.

Sturgis misses a FG and we lose by that, his butt should be left in in Pittsburgh..period

He is another guy, that by rights, should have been replaced, that falls on Philbin

 

I have Steeler fans over every week, we watch the Fins and tape then watch the Steeler game. They have a ton of talent, what has killed them is the OLine (which has gotten better much like ours) also the secondary has been bad, Willie Gay can't cover a bed with a sheet, Ike Taylor has been not great, but makes plays, but has hands of stone and can't catch the ball. Troy has been bad on pass plays but strong on runs.

Its going to be a rough game, we need to throw.

 

Meaningful football in December is fun isn't it fellas?

I didn't see it, so lighten up on the lad.

 

I think it was John Parry who was the lead official for that Saints debacle in 2009, when we had several poor calls go against us. Such as Ginn stripping Sharper well before he crossed the goal line, only to get it called a TD and not overturned on replay. He was not however the official who called it a TD. That was Line Judge Ron ******* Marinucci, who even after being so old and blind, still has a job in the league 4 yrs later.

i also saw a stat (not current, it was through week 8) that Parry has the highest penalty per play percentage of all refs in the nfl

 

Tallmadge is about 90 mins from Pittsburgh. Let's hope Parry grew up a Browns fan and not a Steeler fan.

I hope the designed rollouts include rolling left as well as right. Tannehill is really good at this, but it only seems to happen when he's scrambling, not by design. The designed rollouts always seem to be to the right, and are often recognized by the defense.

Their OL has gotten weaker, seems like only Worilds is hot for them on D, if the weather is not to much of a factor I've got a good feeling about this one

no worries, i already dreamed a win twice this week, 21-10 and 28-10, both headline on newspapers, so i don't know how it happened, but who would give a damn anyways

Interestingly, this game will either expose or vindicate the Parcellian v Philbin approach

Parcells was adamant that the team HAD to be built for cold weather road games late in the season, large players, strong running game etc

Philbin is a 60% pass guy, which is fine in Sunny Miami, 2 huge road games to close out the year, Stealers and Bills, both figure to be played in cold weather with snow a possibility

 

Maybe the wind blowing behind him will help Tannehill's deep pass.
