http://radaronline.com/exclusives/2...-stress-disorder-depression-richie-incognito/ The PTSD diagnosis is interesting and may be just legal posturing as it would establish that Martin's condition was caused by Cogs and the locker room environment as oppose to aggravated by. Take it for what its worth though as the headline reads Miami Dolphin "star" which is a blatant lie.
So when I go to basic combat training and the Drill Sergeant yells at me, can I slam my food tray on the ground and walk out, then say I have PTSD? Martin needs to grow up, our soldiers are in a war zone fighting, they are the real ones with PTSD, god I want to slap Martin so hard right now.
You've got such a relentlessly bad opinion on this. It's like whatever low point you can fine, you're not at all content to stop there, but consistently strive to do worse. Incognito believed Martin to have some sort of mental health issues to the extent he tried to kill himself. You're thinking he's faking it based on your desire to do so, which is ridiculous and terrible.
So it's okay for Martin to text back saying he will kill Incognito's whole family? Martin needs to retire and go be a lawyer like his parents, he isn't cut out for the NFL.
That doesn't address the dumb **** you posted, and it misrepresents the situation: It was an image meme, it's a bit different then actually sending a text message saying that.
You know you have to make a meme, who says Martin didn't make one then sent it to Incognito? All I know is, Martin will never play in the NFL ever again.
By the way, if someone sent that to the President, it would be taken as if the person wrote or said it themselves, so no excuse for Martin to send such threats. No one is innocent in this case. Incognito and Martin will never step on a football field after all said and done.
why does context only matter when coming from Martin's side? oh, it's a meme, so it's funny, and can't be taken seriously. how do we know the guys weren't looking at tub girl in the locker room and joking around about ****ting on each other all day, and then richie got drunk and left it as a voicemail? we haven't heard the voicemail, so we have no idea of that context. just for an example of context, me and some buddies have been telling each other we will **** in each others mouths pretty much since this story broke.
At this point that is nothing but rumor based on the assumption that a particular poster is Richie's father and what he says in true. This story has taken so many turns that I'd take that for fact.
I find it suspicious that they released a transcript of the voicemail rather than the audio. I suspect that if you listen to the message, its apparent that he is joking.
I agree with this, Martin knows in his heart that he isn't good and wants easy money because no team would even want him to play for them. He has a better chance working at Walmart collecting all the carts outside.
it's also suspicious that the transcript of the voicemail is what they lead with and not the "physical abuse" that they have been teasing.... physical assault would carry more weight than ball busting...
I don't think it's that calculated. I'm not even sure I'd paint J-Mart as the villain. I think he cracked under the stress of playing in the NFL and from the text he sent Cogs to the comment in this article about wishing it hadn't blown up the way it did, I think Martin himself would be happy to fade away into the sunset. I believe its those around him (his mother, agent, etc...) who are working these angles to make sure he gets his pay day.
Probably trying to set him up for a nice pay day so they no longer have to fight his battles for him. Of course I'm speculating.
Beautiful sun and gorgeous....women....or men...(whichever he's into)...must wreak havoc on the nerves day in and day out. Forced to eat stone crab and cuban sandwiches. Savage life.
If this kid had serious depression issues, if he had suicidal tendencies, I'm sure it all didn't stem from Richie and the boys ribbing, his family should of known this, and advised him to take a leave of a absense for rehab..to blame the joking that goes on in all NFL locker rooms seems disingenuous..to think you can play as bad as he was playing, and not take any ribbing, is clueless..Was Richie to blame for pushing him over the edge?, probably, the way he was going about trying to check the emotionally fragile person was the wrong approach.
What the hell could have possible caused him to have PTSD? In my honest opinion, it's all posturing for an ensuing legal battle. I am not denying the Martin has serious issues (depression likely being one), but PTSD is unlikely.
But leaving a voice message that is supposedly obviously joking....is bad? Seriously, if the audio indicates Cogs is joking then this whole thing is as ridiculous as that meme.
I seriously think Aldon Smith has had a different upbringing and seen different things than someone raised in California with parents that both went to Harvard...
You know who also had a smile? Just saying. The transcript of the voicemail clearly says Cog's was laughing after he said he was going to slap his real mama. And at the end he says, "Call me."
If martins defense in this case is telling his advisers that the message Richie left him was malicious, then he's the biggest piece of sh&$ I've ever seen, and I hope he gets his *** kicked while he's in New York City...if he uses the vm as to the type of joking that pushed him over the edge then I can understand that angle..
huh? i didn't mention smiles. You can often tell if someone is joking when you listen to them. The transcripts did not include the "call me" bit,. Martin's camp left those out originally. Simple fact of the matter is that the picture in the meme added context to the text in the meme, that without, its easy to misinterpret the words used. Same goes for the transcript of the voice mail. I also suspect the audio does make it obvious Cogs was joking, otherwise Martin's camp would have released it instead of a transcript.
Claiming Martin is going through PTSD, is an insult to anyone who has every actually suffered from the disorder.
Hysterical... not that I condone this sort of thing...
PTSD has suddenly taken a downward and backward step if that "person" (i won't use the word i want to) is using it to define his problems. Pathetic? yes. Shameful? Damn right. PTSD is associated with the military which is where the term originated but i think "stress" and "can't hack it through lack of moral fibre" would be a better term. PTSD? Give me a break.
I wonder how George S. Patton would have reacted to hearing this? Would he have just slapped him as expected, or wail on him with closed fists?
