ALL of us want the team to prove to us that they're good. In the mean time some people prefer bashing the team and being negative, others do not.
Where do I begin? OK, first and foremost, not one person is celebrating 7-9. And the fact some people think there are fans here who would be happy with another 7-9 season is ridiculous. We are 4-4 and right in the thick of the playoff race, which to me means we need to have a better second half, but we have a solid shot. This isn't about celebrating or accepting mediocrity, it's about being HOPEFUL that we can improve in the last 8 games and get to the playoffs. I don't know why that's so hard for people to understand. Secondly, LOL at blaming FANS for the last decade of mediocrity. The way we talk and think has ZERO to do with what happens on the field. Now look, the things UT listed are all valid concerns that are worth discussing. I don't think anyone is denying this team has issues, but don't act like there aren't people here who want to piss in everyone's cheerios every single chance they get. It definitely happens. Negativity is absolutely sky high these days. Fans all have different ways of expressing themselves. Everyone has different views and opinions. I'm optimistic and hopeful a lot. It's just the kind of fan that I am. Does it mean that I think everything is fine? Absolutely not. There are plenty of issues as I said before. Here's the deal though, Thursday night the Dolphins won an incredibly crazy game that they NEEDED to win. They won in a way I'd never seen before, on a walk-off sack. If you weren't ecstatic and screaming and jumping around then I don't know why you're even a fan. After the game there were a couple of people who came into the game thread trying to piss in people's cheerios. Talking about how much the team sucks, the defense sucks, the coaching sucks, whatever. 10 minutes after a big win, NO ONE wants to read that ****. We're trying to celebrate, not have Debby Downers breathing venom in our faces. That is my issue. Talking about the problem areas is fine and something I want to talk about as well, BUT NOT 10 MINUTES AFTER A FRIGGING WIN. I want to be a fan and celebrate. The next couple of days, sure, let's talk about our inconsistent defense or our suspect play calling. I swear, these days everyone wants to be a coach or an analyst instead of just being a fan. You can be an analyst during the week, but on gamedays, be a fan.
Rocky... THAT is prezactly IT! There are some curmudgeons on the board (There always are... don't know why!) Some people just cannot be happy without making someone else feel bad. Very well stated!
I don't even think things are remotely that bad here compared to the other site. I got unbanned on that site about 2 months ago after being a loyal member of that site since 2004 and honestly, I haven't really gone back to being an active member though I did read some stuff I've read things like we're running a middle school cafeteria in Davie, Philbin runs a mental hospital and is deliberately letting Incognito pick on Jonathan Martin and etc from that site. So yeah, trust me this site is okay as far as the "trolling" goes. Saying that Tannehill sucks isn't trolling, it might be considered baiting to those that have a soft spot for an average quarterback (kind of like nyjunc of FH does for Sanchez), but that's not trolling.
Yes, we wait for them to prove it yet try to provide a culture of fair support while doing so, so the chance of them proving it, are better..once the fair timeframe is over, I will come out like a crazed dog like anyone else.
a troll is someone who thinks their opinion is better than someone elses and then has the nerve to call the other person a troll. if you dont like what someone else types or says then dont read it and shut the hell up. i've only been here 3 days and i've seen about 4 main ones already. you don't own this site, so kick rocks.
Let's review what I said. We are 25th in YPG, 20th in PPG and 18th in 3rd down conversion rate. In 2012 we were 27th in YPG, 27th in PPG and 16th in 3rd down conversion. These are just base numbers CK has posted MANY statistics that back this up. I also go by what I see, he's poor. I don't know what I'm talking about. Look at our offensive line. He's been here 2 years, his ONLY 2 years of NFL coaching experience. What has he done to install a belief that he can coach these players up and make a competent offensive line? I don't know what I'm talking about. This is strictly an opinion. I see what I see and I don't think we attack the middle of the field enough. I may NOT know what I'm talking about on this one, it's an educated opinion. We don't and we haven't for a long time. we have not run enough screens since Chan Gailey was here, when we ran too many. This is an opinion. Many have banged this drum. It's not an opinion, it's a fact. We are 22nd in the league. 23rd in YPG against, giving up 4.0 YPC, we've been run on 235 times, which is the 4th most in the league, which tells me everyone else knows they can run on us. When I say we are bad against the run, and you say I don't know what I'm talking about, what EXACTLY am I wrong about? This is an opinion. He is a moron though. He runs to the wrong side of the blocking a LOT. This is an opinion. He's been GM since 2008. In that time we've been 11-5, 7-9, 7-9, 6-10, 7-9 and we are currently 4-4. How long do we give him? Another 3 years? 5? 7-9/8-8 in the NFL is a death spiral. It is mediocre. It leaves you in a position to never get the franchise changing players at the very top of the draft and leaves you always searching for something to get you over the top. Constantly going 8-8 leaves you with an increasing cap, trying to retain players that got you to 8-8, while never adding game changers. It also means you start chasing the elusive 2 win improvement, over spending on free agents. 42 - 46. 1 playoff appearance. .477. The definition of mediocre. Six solid years of "look at how average we are"! Average does not excite me. I'm sick and ****ing tired of it. I can only compare how irritated I get with people who blindly support Jeff Ireland with my other team, the Boston Bruins. In 2008/2009 they won their division, lost in the 2nd round of the playoffs. In 2009/2010 they lost in the 2nd round of the playoffs. Not bad success. It was widely known than if the team did not get past the 2nd round of the playoffs in 2010/2011 that the GM and head coach would be fired. Why fire a GM and coach after some good success? Ownership and fans had higher expectations. They DEMANDED more. In 2010/2011 they won the Stanley Cup, for the first time in 41 years. In 2011/2012 they lost in the first round of the playoffs. Ownership was VERY displeased and it was widely known that without playoff success in 2012/2013 that the GM and coach could be fired. One year after a championship and the honeymoon was over. Expectations are a good thing. Demanding more and expecting more is not "trolling", it's reasonable. I moved into my current home in 1999. Since I've lived here we have won ONE playoff game. One. 14 full seasons and one half season and ONE playoff win. When do fans demand more? What exactly have I said that is incorrect and proves I don't know what I'm talking about? If fans are happy with 8-8 and borderline relevance, that's great, all the power to you. I'm not. I expect more from this franchise. I grew up in a time when the Miami Dolphins were a flagship franchise. We've been reduced to middling at best, the butt of jokes at worse.
He can insult me all he wants. I'm just trying to get to the point of the OP. The OP basically said "anyone who's negative is a troll". I base trying to say that because you criticize the football team, you are not a troll. The team could be 8-0 right now and there would be issues that could be analyzed. I don't think I'm overly negative. when this team is playing well I'm happier than anyone but, it is never all "rainbows and kittens".
That's complete horse****. The OP said: The whole "anyone who is negative" was literally made up in your head.
