Wish he for that mad when he lets a defender blow by him.

The difference between being "normal" or having a "mental issue" is thinner than a piece of paper. One thing that you may consider insignificant can snap a person. It doesn't mean we should all walk on eggshells, but when you know there is an issue you backoff. As for the media, I stopped reading any of thelocal sports coverage 3 years ago. Hard Knocks, a controlled scriprt, it's like Housewives in pads. Like others have said "winning fixes everything".

May it be that Martin cares about his performance and the pressure is just getting to him? Glad to see that someone on the team feels pressure to perform. Maybe he just can't deal with his teammates because they'd rather play games than take their profession seriously.

Lighten up Francis, i have no problems with alittle joking around, despite a 4 game losing skid, it sucks, you need a sense of humor once in awhile.

    Another year .

When will it be enough? The streak of losing, non playoff seasons reaches an all time high with every new year , is there a constant embedded in this?

One step forward , one sideways , one backwards. That is a constant I see and have seen .

These idiots lose 3 strait games, two on stupid mental mistakes and they are playing pranks. Just stupid. This is why this franchise is a bunch of losers. Losing doesn't bother them.

They're lucky to have gotten Mckinnie, or they would have had Garner or Clabo protecting Tanny's blind side.

Sorry, but this is ridiculous. These guys are human. They are having a little fun during their frigging lunch break. EVERY team does this stuff. To think they don't care about winning is asinine.

If they didn't care about winning, their wouldn't be so much frustration in the locker room.

Do you think the mentality of an athlete is to brood for a week on what happened and not move forward? Yeah they dwell maybe a day during the season and move forward with everything else that is sports and life. It's getting past it, not forgetting, not dwelling, not letting it break them, that makes a mentally tough althlete.

Maybe. Depends on who they work for, and the circumstances IMO.

It is the same way here, if the person is part of a labor union. If they are just a guy working for some company, no union to back them, their employer can fire them for about anything they like.

George Allen, one of the best coaches in NFL history, was a major rah rah hand clapping type of guy. Allen though was a guy who always wore his heart on his sleeve. It seemed sincere coming from him. Philbin seems somewhat stoic much of the time though IMO, not as much as Cameron did, but leaning toward that type of persona. So maybe it does not come across the same as when a guy like Allen did it.

So if the team has Philbin's back, they should come out on fire tonight and give total effort. If they do not care, then it could show in their performance.

This is right. It is all in their hands. There is certainly enough talent on this team to beat the Bengals at home....so....Beat them.

    If not..the narratives continue....

You obviously have never been around a bunch of "jock" types. They usually have a very bad case of arrested development, and joking like this is actually a way to relieve the high pressure of playing the game.

I'm not saying they should sit around and cry about a loss. But they are at work when they are there and your there to do a job. I've been in the middle of a lot of competitive sports seasons with teams and I always took losing serious and demanded the same of my teammates. Not that they should think about a loss until the next game, but when we are there at practice its time to work. Play on your own time. I understand this may have happened in the lunch room or something like that, and if thats the case then it is what it is. The fact of the matter is none of us know what really happened, its probably not the first time that something like this has been done to him for him to react this way.

I wanted Mohammed Sanu at that spot when we picked Martin. Think we can make a trade with Cinci in time for tonight's game? We do need a new #3!

I reported on @FFD @foxsports1 @MiamiDolphins T Jonathan Martin left team after excessive, over-the-top bullying from teammates.

Don't know what to make out of this since I didn't see his report but if Martin is accusing of being bullied this story could get bad and legs, media eats up any stories that has bullying in it, which is not a bad thing but it could be for us.

  27. MrClean

This doesn't jibe exactly with what other reports have told us. I think this could be how Marvez wants to interpret it or project it to the public. A lunch room prank is hardly the same thing as excessive over the top bullying. Is there more than the lunch room prank? If so, why would only Marvez know about it among the media?

The lunch room prank could have just been the straw that broke the camel's back.

If the offensive linemen had a good leader this would not have happened. Another strike against Jim Turner.

Could have been, but why would only Marvez report this excessive bullying thing? Marvez has been negative toward the team since left South Florida, so it just wouldn't surprise me if he engaged in some hyperbole.

Boy I'm sure glad we drafted "DION WHO" instead of Lane Johnson. I concur, Ireland is just horrible. Martin?? What a sad joke.

We need to revisit that thread. I was worried about us not shoring up our OL and here we are.

  36. MrClean

    MrClean Inglourious Basterd Club Member

5 years from now, I'll bet Jordan is a better NFL player than Johnson. Even now, Johnson hasn't shown anything to indicate he'd an upgrade for our OL. Clabo is rated the 65th OT, and Johnson the 66th. To try to say our OL right now would be stronger with Johnson is a fallacy.

The 2nd worst OT in Pass Blocking Efficiency is Lane Johnson. The only one worse is Paul McQuistan who is a guard playing left tackle.

Clabo might be the better choice if they plan on pounding the rock. Actually Garner would be best. He can play.
