Stafford just pulled something similar to the fake spike play... on the goaline, after a long completion to Calvin, he rushes the team to the line with about 15 seconds left, motioning he's going to spike it and stop the clock, the team lines up, Stafford leaps over the OL and DL for the Touchdown. His own OL didnt even know. TD Lions... tying it at 30 with 12 seconds to go, the extra point gives them the 31-30 lead

    Unreal. That's a QB.

What was I afraid of most? Losing to Pats at their BS stadium and their Vegas Refs? No. Losing on like this....24 unanswered points? Please, Miami just go back to 2007 or go full out 2008, none of this 2011, 2012, BS.

He's not bad, but neither was fiedler or henne. However, he isn't a franchise QB. He makes more chicken **** than chicken salad.

That was a Stafford td regardless. He still ended up running the ball in.

I consider myself observant, so I recognize that those were bad calls by the refs. That being stated, I still feel the Dolphins would have found a way to lose the game today, bad calls or not.

Perhaps the game may have been closer in score without those two calls, but the Dolphins just didn't show up in the second half and that is why they lost the game today. If you honestly think this team was going to win with the way they played in the second half today, perhaps it is you who is being obtuse.

He did it himself, watch it... he's telling everyone he's going to spike it, then he leaps over the top for the TD instead, his own OL didnt even know, they just stood up like it was a spike play, nobody blocked, they were just all confused. Unreal. Such a smart play by Stafford.

No Henne sucked. Fielder was actually quite good. Tannehill is a definite improvement over Henne and Moore but he has no offensive line and he is one the most unpopular teams in regards to officiating. Dolphins always get canned by refs.

It's like trying to swim underwater with 300-pound pig strapped to your back and having some douche trying to fight off your breathing mask at the same time.

When the defense gets so many free runners to the QB, it isn't the OL talent, it is the blocking scheme.

Take away the PI on Wilson, the hold on Patterson, and whatever the fvck that was on Vernon, and I'd have liked Miami's chances. Those calls all on 3rd down, came on scoring drives and had a direct effect on the outcome.

Some of us are intelligent enough to recognize this just isn't a good team and isn't particularly well coached. Others want to piss and moan about the refs. I guess as long as you are going to constantly blame the refs and not the organization itself for where it is today, you are quite happy to settle for the same mediocre team that we have been seeing for the past five season.

Six sacks, three turnovers, one blocked FG and another missed FG, all in the second half. Along with 24 points scored against the defense and zero points scored by the offense. Perhaps that had a great deal more to do with the loss than the refs.

The drops by Clay and Mathews hurt. Keying on Wallace also hurt. We were moving for a 24 to 17 score when Tannehill foreces it to Wallace and that hurt the most next to the terrible officiating. In the big scheme of things though, it doesn't matter because neither one of these teams will advance in the playoffs.

That's nice, meanwhile Luck and Kaepernick are both succeeding and not needing the excuses our fans put on our quarterback. Oh and they have command of their offense and the offense knows who's the leader.

    Good lord.

Saw this carnage coming, and checked out at halftime, to avoid the grizzle and gore.

For the greenhorns its simple, whenever the 1st half plays out like the Truman Show, reality bites down in the second, and you end up spending the rest of the day looking constipated, or feeling drunk.

it'd be nice if you actually had a point. Cherry picking a 3rd year QB with an extra year under his belt and a once in a generation player who was NFL ready the second he was drafted makes for a pretty stupid argument.

I never played football beyond high school, but I had a great HS coach who told us years ago that you have to take the good with the bad and that when the bad happens, good teams overcome it. I played in games where I felt the refs made some terrible calls, but our coach told us that it was up to us to overcome those calls and not whine about them.

I learned this lesson over 40 years ago and I have always felt that the better team will find a way to win, even when some calls go against them.Especially when there was as much time left in the game as there was today when these calls were made. If the Dolphins had scored points in the second half, those bad calls would be irrelevant. The Patriots outscored the Dolphins 24-0 in the second half and that is why the Dolphins loss. Even though the refs may have made a few mistakes which hurt the Dolphins. They had nothing to do with the six sacks, two interceptions, one fumble, and two missed field goals by the Dolphins in the second half.

If it makes you feel better about the loss by blaming it on the refs and not on the players and coaches, feel free to do so.

I think the TO's are losing Tannehill some respect with his teammates. All around though Tannehill and the receivers especially Wallace, leave much to be desired. Next time spend 25 Mil on the OL and 25 Mil on a receiver instead of blowing $50 Mil on a receiver. Ross is losing out big time on this team.

I'd love to have Johnny. Have watched almost every game he played at A&M so far. Love that guy. My pro comparison to him is Russell Wilson. Wouldn't be too bad. I think he's gonna be a first round pick. All that said, I still believe Ryan's the guy. But maybe the new GM and coaches want their own QB. :shifty:

Will be real interested in seeing attendance on Thursday night. I know Ross will be paying attention. Ross is a business man. He has got to know a bad investment when he sees it. He doesn't appear to be a indecisive person either. So what will his reaction be to all this?

The ref calls most certainly DID have something to do with the sacks, INTs, etc. Quit living in a goddam vacuum. Our entire game plan was altered b/c of all the points that resulted from those calls. It affected the game's momentum, and it emotionally affected both teams, demoralizing Miami players and lifting New England's. You can't spot an opponent 13 points on the road, especially Tom Brady, and then suggest it's their fault for not overcoming it.

If it makes you feel better to obtusely live in a bubble, feel free to do so.

Keep the excuses coming. They sound very much like the Chad Henne excuses all of you were making, as a matter of fact they're the same exact excuses. Meanwhile Tannehill has as much INT's as he does TD's. Don't see much difference between Sanchez and him, except Sanchez actually has made the playoffs twice coming out of USC with little experience.

On the surface 3-4 isn't that bad, but what is bad about this record is 0 for last 4. That, and a tough game against the Bengals on Thursday, makes this a critical point of the season. 0 and 5 could force Ross's hand in some way. I remember how bad the stands looked against Buffalo. It was embarrassing. As a matter of fact, I watched the Hurricane game yesterday and that looked pretty pathetic for a undefeated team.

Ross has no one to blame but himself. He made the decision to hang onto Ireland, even though fans, other coaches and many in the NFL have said he is not a good GM. If the fans can see it, and you ignore them, you reap what you sow.

No you're right. Time to give up on a high 1st round QB before he's even half way through his second year b/c player development and learning curves are obsolete in the NFL.

I would say convert him to a wide receiver, he might be as good as 30 million dollar receiver Brian Hartline, the slowest off the snap. Ryan probably has the same speed as the guy.

I'm sitting here listening to the local sports reporters on TV here in Miami discuss the game today. Some of these reporters are former NFL players. While they agreed that the calls were bad, every single one of them noted that these calls were not the reason the Dolphins lost the game today.

They blame the loss on the the Dolphins not being able to do anything on offense or defense in the second half. They even stated that calls sometimes go against a team and that good teams find a way to overcome these bad calls. As was pointed out on the show, it comes down to 60 minutes of competing, not just 30 minutes. The Dolphins played great for the first 30 minutes and failed to do anything on offense or defense after Sturgis missed the FG attempt early in the third quarter.

until you can say with a reasonable degree of certainty that player development & learning curves can no longer be an excuse. Typically at least 3 years for a 1st round QB.
