Not really a matter of us thinking we'll steam roll the bills, but more so hoping. Your backup qb, who ended up having a good game gainst the bengals, doesn't scare us. Before the 4th qtr he looked very forgettable. Our defense will be the healthiest it's been since training camp. Spiller/Jackson can burn us so we have to keep that in check, but overall your offense should struggle IMO. Now your defensive line, that I'm terrified of. Secondary's good too. Going to have to play mistake free and hopefully the gameplan works out, We are coming off a bye, against a backup qb, at home. Yes, we should win.
If my sister had nuts she'd be my brother. I expect Buffalo to play us tough on defense. The issues our offensive line has been having doesn't bode well against the Bills front seven. If Miami doesn't figure out a way to get that cleaned up, it could be rough at times. That being said, I expect Miami to shut down Lewis. This is where a guy like him can wind up struggling. There's film available now, and Coyle should have a good idea of what to expect.
Well, you're completely wrong to call Chan Gailey's system "below" average. The only reason Fitz was the best Bills quarterback since Kelly (sad, but true) and the only reason Stevie became the first Bills receiver with three consecutive 1,000 yard seasons is BECAUSE of the system. I said he's insanely good at getting open. He is. What I also said was he's not the focal point of the offense. He's also been away tending to family issues and he's nursing a poor back. Did you mean to argue the point that he's the focal point of the offense? What precisely are you trying to convince me of that I haven't already made mention of?
I think your completely underselling your best player over the past 4 years, at least that's what I got out of your first post..no problem, doesn't matter to me, I just hope he's out.
The very fact that this debate is happening--between you and me, between Bills fans elsewhere--confirms he most definitely has NOT been the Bills best player. In fact, the Bills fans arguing thusly are vastly outnumbered by those arguing to the contrary.
Of course. But plain and simple: Stevie has not been the best player on the Bills. He's been a very good player on the Bills, there's no questioning in that, not the best though. But we're not talking about history. We're talking this year. And I maintain that the conditions under which he thrived with Chan/Fitz no longer exist. He'll still be a very good receiver, but he won't impact games like he used to.
Care to post your list of better players over the last four years on offense? It's nothing to be ashamed off, he's really good..hell.lol, Pouncey and Hartline are our best and stevie is better than Hartline. You can make a case for Byrd on defense..
Fred Jackson, 1 one thousand yard season, in his career.. Steve Johnson..3 one thousand yard seasons, along with 23 tds, in his last four years.. You lose.
Looks like Ellerbe is gonna miss the game, with Jenkins taking his place.. Wish we could move the strength of Koa Misi inside and have DJ take his place on the outside..
Oh, you're using stats to make your case? Then why do spend any time watching the games? The box scores must tell us EVERYTHING we need to know. Haha, why are you trying to tell me about my own team, bro?
In fact, Manny Lawson is quietly the most valuable player on the Bills D. Now that Alan Branch is getting more snaps with Carrington out, he's proving to be a nice little FA addition, too.
I'm thinking he was referring to the injuries since the beginning of the season causing him to have to shuffle his DBs around and limit what he really wanted to do on defense. We've been limited in every game and still kept them close apart from the Saints game. Sucks that we still don't have Ellerbe back.
like Dupree said short answer No...but can they keep the rush off of him enough times to make some plays..Obviously the bookends on the Line are very below average but T Hill has still managed to make a lot of plays.
Try and play games when you will not have your primary cover corner, your nickel CB, your starting FS, and for a few games your other starting CB. See how your team can do on defense.
Patterson, Taylor and Davis are 3 of out top 5 CBs, Wake is our best pass player, and they've all been out.
Exactly. Don't want to hear s*** from other teams about injuries. We've been losing starters and dealing with injuries since camp and have lost either starters and/or 2nd stringers every fn regular season game since.
Well we're healthy and into it. I expect a blowout in our favor, but I always expect a win against Buffalo. They always seem to manage to get one from us. Kudos to them if they pull off the upset. Tough to do on the road and playing a team coming off their bye.
Holy sh&$' Jim Irsay. was just in sportscenter doing an interview....hammered...no BS, hammered...lol
No I just used them to back up my assertion that Johnson has been your best player, three strait thousand yards seasons and 23 tds is serious production..Fred Jackson is a good player, stevie is very good.
Where did he say that? Most do pay more attention to their Div opponents more than other teams so a different opinion can be expected.
All I know is that when I think of the city Buffalo, I think of the city in the movie "Pinnochio" where all the kids get lured to and turn into jackasses...
That's not nice nor true. I've lived near both cities. But here's the reason why I'm posting here. I always get a kick out of my Bills brethren who come on other teams boards to discuss how great our players are, and that your team is in a lot of trouble this week. Yes, a lot. I know because they said it last week on the Bengals board as well. The fact is we are 2-4 with four home games played already, and we can easily be 0-6 or 4-2. But that doesn't matter. 75% of all NFL games are decided by one or two plays, yet somehow our opponents always make those 1 or 2 plays, not the Bills. No self-respecting Bills fan should be coming on another team's board and boasting until we can actually go 8-8 in a season (not even asking for 9-7, mind you). Realistically, why would one possibly think we can go in and defeat a team with a winning record at home after a bye when we couldn't beat the Browns on the road on national TV? Oh yes, Jonathon Martin is your left tackle so that automatically means we are going to get 10 sacks and that will make the difference. This, despite the fact we are starting an undrafted PS QB. That of course doesn't come into play when Bills fans prognosticate this week's game. It's always your one guy stinks here, or this guy is injured there. Never mind our QB with all of his two games of NFL experience. I'm sure we'll be in the game for awhile, but let's face it, the money is on the Dolphins winning by a TD or more, and us Bills fans will go home embarrassed at their 2-5 record going into New Orleans. Let's just call it 2-6. I guess even 8-8 not looking so good, huh? So Big Cat and others, stay off their board.
It depends on what aspect of the team your talking about, knowing your team, it's backups, their backups, the schemes and coaches, doesn't mean you know how to evaluate talent..
Shoot, I can't remember the last time we had 4 plays over 40 yards with tds... lol, that was funny how that dude presented his case...lol... OH YEAH!!! Well our defense only let Geno boombatz smith throw 4 big pays over 40 with two tds...so what!!!!
I know enough to know you take yourself too seriously. And to know that it's completely irrelevant. Because the point stands: SJ is not the focal point of our offense, never was, won't be on Sunday, and won't cause you guys that much trouble. I could be wrong. May be he'll catch career TD no. 2 against Miami.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...miami-dolphins-breaking-down-miamis-game-plan Preview about the Bills game. There's a nugget about the sections of the field where the Bills defense is strongest against the pass that people might like. Personally I would just assume NOT challenge Kiko Alonzo's area of the field.
Your talking a different tune now, my case was only based on who has been your best player over the past four years..and I would bet if I polled your own fans, stevie Johnson is gonna get the majority in that poll, so unless your willing to put your money where your mouth is why don't you just admit it. Lol, see I'm not to serious bills fan.
This link would indicate I've said the same thing over and over: http://www.thephins.com/forums/show...uffalo-Bills&p=2175116&viewfull=1#post2175116
In That post you basically trash your best player over the past four years.. And You admit your own fans don't agree with you...neither do I.. Anyways..I believe the bills are gonna come out passing so we better be ready for that..
No, Bills fans--by and large--love Stevie. There is a growing sect that does not. But most Bills fans think he can do no wrong. However, the majority of Bills would agree he isn't and hasn't been our best player. But don't take my word for it. Just read the poll you asked me to conduct: http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/162848-best-bill-of-the-last-four-years/
