Even being a non Yankee fan, I thought it was a really cool and great baseball moment. Guy deserved it, was well liked and respected never did or said anything bad. Like I said really cool baseball moment, even cooler Yankee moment.

Makes you wonder what the heck the Yankees will do when Jeter retires.

The thing was after Mo left the game, did the curtain call, and the game started again, they were panning around the ballpark at the fans....and forget Jeter they had that "wtf are we going to do now" look on their faces already....everyone did......

Hey Daly came in and struck out the guy so hell give in a shot!!

Yeah the Twins one was cool, Balts was good too, White Sox was nice, TB's sand sculpture was bomb (altho not sure how you take that home hahaah)

My favorite though was the "42" scoreboard placard from Fenway.....the significance is so real, that placard is older than all of us and even him....it wont be used anymore, just a great thing....the roast was balls too....

I wished they would have played in Wrigley this year.....

Yeah I personally thought the Sox gifts were 2nd best after the Twins of course. But it's a matter of opinion.

Some of the mocking was funny though!

Agreed. They're awful but you don't see every MLB pitcher throwing CG against them. Great final start for Pettitte. As a Sox fan I certainly won't miss Rivera or Pettitte. As a baseball fan I will.

Si.com still has the article on the front page "Pettitte tosses shutout in last start" do they even watch sports? First Henne leads a epic comeback for us and now this. Anyway I thought it was a great way for Pettitte to go out! Yeah its the Astros but still to do it at his home is pretty cool! The coolest thing is, and he got lucky that the Yankees actually scored for him, barely though, is that he has gone 18 seasons without a losing record. He should have had a winning record this year, because he pitched a lot better then his record shows, but him going 11-11 prevented him from his first losing season! Great job Andy and Mo! Gonna miss you guys and thanks for everything!

I think the white Sox pick is the 3rd so it's protected. So if he signs there' the Yankees would get a second rounder or a sandwich pick.

problem is the yankees cant scout talent and have certainly not been able to develop what they do end up with. I hope girardi walks, i wont complain if he stays, but his style of managing is getting on my nerves. I hate how he stuck with stewart this year when it was clear that Romine was getting better with more at bats.

I get your frustration FFG, drafting is though the way to build the team...you have to be competent at it, no if's an' or but's....look at the Cards, Sox, TB, Oak, Tex, Atl, Wash, all draft well....Miami has some very very nice players as well, only a matter of time before they start being good again....

The simple answer is THEY NEED TO START SCOUTING, DRAFTING AND DEVELOPING PLAYERS. You cant and I know you agree not continue to try an acquire draft picks (if you can) because you are faulty in that area. It is a godman shame their best drafted player to date is Gardner, it is a joke honestly.

Cashman needs to ****can that whole department, but here is my worry, I don't think he can. I think the Oppenheimer's are in with Levin and Hal and they aren't going anywhere. I read a Daily News article the other day about Cashman's frustration with them (scouts).

Girardi I wont bag on him, I think he did well with the team as constituted this year. That being said I don't care if he stays or goes, I wouldn't mind seeing Pena....I would like to see them sign Joe and trade him to the Cubs

4M is pretty good for him in that market, he gets incentives as well for winning the Division, etc.....he said in his interview that he doesnt really have much in Chicago left anymore, parents are dead......kids go to school in NY and are settled....

Like I said I could take him or leave him......hey maybe they trade him to Chicago for Castro and Rizzo  (Fink's head explodes)

Last time he signed a contract with the yankees we went on winning atleast 1 world series. Hopefully same thing happens this time. I was in the take him or leaving him. I thought he did a great job this season so I am glad hes back. Now lets get Cano for a good price

Agree with every word. You can see Cashman has no control just by his comments. He went out of his way tosay he had no authority to make any moves during the winter meetings, he's expressed his frustration with being forced to trade for sori. I think he hates his job and to be perfectly honest I kind of wish he would have walked away. It doesn't matter who has his job till Hal and hank sell the team to people who care about baseball.

I'm fine with girardi re signing, but he has to stop showing so much loyalty. If a guy sucks you can't put him in there time and time against hoping he gets lucky.

Right on about Cashman, he is getting frustrated, imagine have the strings reigned back on you, your viewpoint constantly question, hell I would tell A-Rod to shut up as well too!! I think I posted here a few months ago about how Levine is ruining this organization and you are right I might have to add Hal into it as well....Hank eh he was told to disappear after that A-Rod fiasco....but I really think Hal is like Stephen Ross, no clue about the sports part of it, except that Levine is the master manipulator....ugh go away, and take Sterling with you...
