    Steven Moffat, who has written some of the most acclaimed episodes of the BBC's Doctor Who, has been named the lead writer and executive producer of the hit SF series, replacing show runner Russell T. Davies, the British Guardian newspaper reported.

    Moffat wrote "Blink," an episode that won him the writer prize at this year's BAFTA Craft Awards.

    Davies, the key creative figure behind the Doctor Who revival in 2005, will leave the show next season. The fifth season will be broadcast on BBC1 in 2010; Doctor Who airs in the United States on SCI FI Channel Fridays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

    Moffat's previous episodes include "The Girl in the Fireplace," which earned him his second Hugo Award, and the two-art "The Empty Child," which won him his first Hugo.

    Moffat also wrote the six-part BBC series Jekyll, starring James Nesbitt and Michelle Ryan.

    Anybody notice the tweaks to the theme this year? It's a bit more rocky and driving. Not quite sure I like it.

    It was an awesome episode and she is one hot looking young lady. She is the daughter of a former Doctor Who (Peter Davidson) and tried out for the part of Rose.

    Freema Agyeman has been cast in a new BBC re-imagining of classic Seventies drama series Survivors, based on the novel by Dalek creator, Terry Nation.
    Originally launched in April 1975 on BBC One, Survivors ran for 38 episodes over three series.
    The new series, set in the present day, focuses on the world in the aftermath of a devastating virus which wipes out most of the world's population.
    Freema has been cast as Jenny Collins, a bright and lively young teacher in a primary school who must face choices beyond anything she could have imagined.

    Y'know, this was the closest thing to a misfire we've had this season, IMO. The whole thing was written a bit heavy-handedly, and the see-it-from-a-mile-away resurrection at the end was downright clunky. Enjoyable, yes, but not quite on par with what has been an outstanding season.

    Yeah, I was expecting a little better. Here is a little info from this episode.

    Like Celtkin said
    Georgia Moffett is the daughter of Fifth Doctor, Peter Davison. He was recently seen alongside the Tenth Doctor in the 2007 Children in Need special, Time Crash. Back in 2004 Georgia was considered for the role of a certain Rose Tyler... Georgia also appeared with her Dad in the Doctor Who audio adventure Red Dawn.

    The Eighth Doctor adopted a daughter called Miranda, created by author Lance Parkin for the range of tie-in novels published by BBC Books

    In case you're wondering, a female Time Lord is called a Time Lady. Amongst the ones we've encountered so far are Rodan in 1978's The Invasion Of Time and Romana (first seen in 1978's The Ribos Operation).

    The TARDIS and the Doctor's hand detected the presence of a Time Lord (or Lady) before Jenny had been created. The TARDIS then arrived at the planet so she could be created... hence detecting her presence in Time and Space

    Upcomig episode Turn Left trailer. Also there is alot of stuff out there about the finale, hard to tell how much is correct but this seasons finale looks like its gonna be Amazing. :up:

    I am a bit behind in the series. I am watching the Unicorn episode and was happy to see a lead role by one of my favorite Brit comedic actresses - Felicity Kendal.

    I downloaded all the episodes up to episode 11 of this year. :)

    For what it is worth, I always thought that Felicity Kendal was the 'perfect wife'. The fans of Good Neighbors (aka The Good Life) will be familiar with her role as Barbara, the wife of Tom Good.

    I am watching the second part of the library episode now --- awesome episode(s).

    As for the Agatha Christy episode, I like it too. It reminded me of the early Doctor Who episodes -- campy, bad effects and just plain fun.

    Brilliant episode. :)

    So many forward-reaching tendrils to spark future episodes that have happened often the past two seasons -- Captain Jack -- The Doctor's Daughter -- things from this episode that I won't spoil.

    David Troughton is the son of Second Doctor, Patrick Troughton. He's not directly related to new series director Alice Troughton, though! After Georgia Moffett, he's the second progeny of a past Doctor actor to appear in Series Four. David previously appeared in three Doctor Who stories: 1967's The Enemy of the World (uncredited), 1969's The War Games and 1972's The Curse of Peladon.

    FYI: Rose doesn't appear in the Midnight episode until the previews of the next week's episode Turn Left.

    This episode was originally intended to be episode 8, before Steven Moffat's two-parter, but was pushed back to episode 10. The name of the shuttle bus, Crusader 50, was a reference to it originally being in the 50th episode of the new series to be screened.
