I fully support seeing more of Nunez, Murphy, Romine (especially behind the plate), Claiborne, David Adams and Zolio Almonte play everyday.

Eehhh it's over now. Props for hanging in with all the injuries. Couldve easily tanked the season but they fought till the end. Enjoyed the grit this team showed

Ever go to the website Sporacle.com to play their games? When I'm bored I sometimes go on and try to guess the opening day rosters of MLB teams or the full rosters of certain Red Sox seasons, so when someone makes a "Name all the players on the 2013 Yankee roster" I bet no one will ever get a 100% score without cheating.

Many people in the NY media said "big changes are coming" I don't get it, what are they going to do?? What big changes? Out of all the FA they have potentially leaving, Cano is the only guy that is a must.....that being said that is just to retain their own guy, other than that what "big" changes can they realistically do? Ellsbury? Girardi coming or going is pretty big, but I would honestly just hire Pena (would love to see him get a shot), maybe Cashman? as it stands after this year they have a payroll going into next year of 89M, add Cano's 19-25 he is about to get and it is around 110M....

I think they're mainly talking about how the old guard like Rivera, Pettitte and Jeter are leaving (in Jeter's case close to it), the crap with Arod and there is a lot of uncertainty with next year in terms of payroll and the roster. But you're right "big changes" is vague and misleading perhaps.

Solid outing by nova. We did our part today. Hoping team lose that need to but it's hard since everyone playing each other so hope they keep splitting and we keep winning. And need Houston to win.
Also let's say yanks are out, last game at Yankee stadium no matter what you put mo in, but what if the pitcher pitching is throwing a perfect game.

Angels are on a roll 8-2 in last ten. They end the season playing a series against the A's and Rangers. Hopefully the Angels keep kicking *** and take texas out

Nice ceremony for rivera at the stadium. Metallica played sandman and gave rivera a custom guitar and speaker. Wouldve liked a mention of petitte but I guess the announcement came too late and it was mariano's day

Pettite threw two gems last two outings and we lost both. What a shame

That whole day was amazing....In between the innings they had all messages to Mo from players and managers around the league....

The President of Panama was there....when the President of your Country shows up I guess you made it in life...

Good to see Wetland again, he really loves that guy...

He thanked San Fransisco for "allowing him to complete against them".......think about that....lol he thanked America....

There was almost a revolt at the Stadium last night....it was Mo Bobblehead night and they came late, so people waited in line to get them, turns out they didnt show up until like the 4-5 inning....

People were BS.....probably a good thing though, they got smacked up.....

I heard he really wants to play the OF. If the Yankees are seriously going to let him do that I bet he does it in Houston where the games will be meaningless. I'm sure if he did it against the Rays, Cleveland and Texas would go crazy and with good reason.

Girardi said he isn't doing that against TB, that he owes it to the game to play it out....Right call....

    He will in Houston...

So they are officially gone...good luck the rest of the way to the other teams...

It is the 2nd time in the past 19 years the Yanks haven't made the playoffs.......

so yeah feel bad for me...

Good, that would annoy me if they had Rivera out there against a team in the playoff hunt.

Again give the Yankees credit for hanging on until September 25th to be officially eliminated from the playoffs with the roster issues they had all year.

Would be cool to see Mo play outfield for a full game in houston, all 3 games! Would make not making the playoffs worth it. Like getting full 3-4 at bats. Would love to see that

Good to see his idiotic comments about the Yankees and 9/11 got him canned from the TBS post season baseball gig. I guess some people will just never learn.

A-Rod left the team, isn't playing the last 3 games of the season so he can "prepare" for his arbitration......quitter...

Yeah Deadspin reported it today. The real question is why would TBS even want him in the first place?

Yeah I saw that Arod wasn't going on the trip to Houston but heard the Astros are going to honor both Rivera and Pettitte and Clemens is suppose to be there. Should be interesting and awkward to have Clemens and Pettitte together.

EDIT: ESPNNY is reporting that Cashman said the reports of Arod skipping the Houston series is false.

AP should punch that jerkmouth....the sad part is AP didn't have to do it....

What is cool is AP can literally like go home after Sunday, no flight trip back to NY or anything just a "Have a nice life guys, see ya around"

I am sorry but that was one of the coolest things I have seen in sports! There will never be another Mariano! He was simply the greatest! Sad to see him go but I enjoyed all the years I got to watch him play, and the times I got to see him pitch in person! Sad day for Yankee fans!
