Wow just a fantastic episode. I don't think I've watched a TV show with that much tension since the final episode of The Sopranos. So much happened in this last episode. The acting, as always, was great, every character just nailed all of their scenes. Can't believe there are only 2 episodes left.
When Hank, with misty eyes looked up to walt....and spoke to him as Walter and not Heisenberg for the first time in a longggg time.....and said "You're the smartest man I've ever known.." and that gun went off.....I wept like a child. It was so ****ing intense.
Also....Lydia has been reallllllllly noticabley absent the last couple of episodes.....I have a feeling she comes back someway and causes a stir somehow.
Well she was in the previous week's episode when she told Todd that the product wasn't good enough nor was it blue. But yeah you're right her role in all of this is far from over. Maybe she's the one that spares Jesse's life since he was the one that saved hers last season.
And I have a feeling this isn't the last time Walt sees Jesse either. I really thought Walt was going to let Jesse go in the dessert, then when he told the gang where he is and then told Jesse about Jane it was such a gut punch. Crazy how many emotions this show puts you through. First you hate Walt, then feel sorry for him, then hate him again. I still don't know whether or not to root for him.
Lydia was who I was thinking of as a possibility to who picked up Walt at the end. It would be interesting if he strikes up a deal with her to cook again in exchange for him getting revenge on the Nazis. She would have the resources to do that.
I feel the same about Jesse. Am I happy hes a slave? Does he deserve it?!? I am torn like a leaf.... And I recall Jesse saying their last scene they shot together (he and cranston) they were "in this thing...." and then they "yelled cut" and they didnt want to get out. It was surreal. I wonder if filming "in this thing" has been showed yet? Was that RV part in the begining an actual part of an episode early on or did they have jesse and walt try to look younger and film it now?
Based on this, I'm guessing Walt figures out a way to poison the entire Nazi crew with the Ricin, making his transformation into Gus complete. But the other under the radar transformation has been Lydia into Walt. Even though she's not the one cooking, the similarities are there. Someone who, at first seems way over her head but is becoming more and more comfortable in her increasing role as the drug kingpin. Could Lydia be the one who does Walt in to really bring things full circle? Lydia saves Jesse and Jesse kills Walt? Not sure. That would blow my deathbed scene finale prediction right out the window but it's another possibility. At this point I could care less whether my "predictions" are wrong or right, I know this show is going to deliver a rewarding finish.
It's not really a secret. It's Saul's guy. It was the same person who came to pick Jesse up. I'm fairly confident we never see who exactly it was who picked Walt up as it's not a critical detail to the plot.
Even more interesting is this is the Ozymandias statue........ Vince and the writers are incredible. Edit: Which this episode was titled "Ozymandias"
Yup so that MAY be the last scene they filmed together.....so possibly the last film of Walt and Jesse together...
I mean they obviously filmed that scene last, after everything else, since Jesse was shaved and everything, so it could have been the last scene filmed together, but not because its the last scene they are together.
This. TV shows and movies rarely film in the same sequences as it's shown on the script. One day they could be filming the last scene, the next day they could be filming scene 2.
As much as i liked the sopranos, this show had blown it right out of the water. Sent from my LG-MS770 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Yeah I really like The Sopranos but let's face it there was tons of wasted time on storylines with no pay offs and it stayed on the air probably 1 season too long. I think overall Breaking Bad is a better show.
The Sopranos had a lot more humor and cultural aspects in it. It also focused more on people's personalities and the questions everyone has. Breaking Bad is more of a one track story w a lot of twists and turns where as The Sopranos was open-ended. Completely diff show imo.
Oh yeah definitely a different show. And me saying Breaking Bad is overall a better show isn't to knock The Sopranos by any means. I just think that as good as The Sopranos was, and it's still one of my favorite shows ever, I think it had a lot of slow and wasted episodes and a lot of missed opportunities with dropped storylines. I personally can't stand filler episodes, especially when there are only 12 or so episodes a season and The Sopranos had a lot of them.
I'm in a debate with my friend. I say that Todd's uncle came because of the coordinates were so specific that he knew it was important. She thinks that they came because Walt said if they didnt they wouldn't have a cook
but your friend could argue the shovel was to bury the bodies. But still, curiosity got the best of the uncle b/c like he said- it wasn't just your basic directions like left at the gas station, right at Lmeister's mother's house. They were coordinates to a specific spot in the desert. Plus, Walt called him off but he still came, so he obviously wanted to see what the coordinates represented.
here's the scene. 11:39 mark: http://www.videoweed.es/file/33ab3f30d0442 to me it's obvious he came b/c of the coordinates.
I didn't delete the episode and just went back. He grabbed it out of Hanks truck and said "they even brought a shovel"
Here's the dialogue: Uncle didn't give 2 sh-ts about the meth cooking stuff. It was all about the coordinates.
It was. When the uncle pulled it out he said, they even brough us a shovel. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
Wasted episodes: basically the first half of Season 6 after Tony gets shot by Junior. Between his dreams and Vito in New Hampshire it didn't add anything to the story. I feel like they wasted so much time with the filler stuff that the end storyline with the war with New York felt extremely rushed. The episode where Tony is in a New York hotel and just has dreams the whole episode. The episode where Tony meets his father's girlfriend. I also think there were a lot of filler stuff especially with anything AJ was doing. Anything to do with Junior after he shot Tony. Missed storyline opportunities: I still think there should have been a bigger showdown between Christopher and Tony, Christopher's death especially was a huge let down. I mean I understand why Tony did it but after years or teasing them coming to blows it ends with a car accident and Chris coked up. I also think Paulie was almost a non factor for the rest of the series after the woods in the winter episode, except when they teased him betraying Tony. The Furio stuff, just came and went, I felt like it was unresolved. I thought they could have done more with Meadows' character instead of focusing more on AJ in the last seasons. That's the stuff I can think of off the top of my head real quickly since I haven't rewatched the episodes in awhile. Again I love The Sopranos and some of it is definitely me being nitpicky. But there were some episodes that after you watch it it leaves you feeling underwhelmed.
Dude I literally just watched it again because you made me think I was losing my mind. He reached in the dark SUV with all the windows blown out.
