Hey I'm not saying I would be concerned, don't you remember me drinking Rizzo's bath water since 2011? Just that it might make some GMs/owners a bit nervous.

    Yeah them too.

He's doing ok for a 23 year old in his first full season in the big leagues. He's not lighting the world on fire but he's not falling on his face either. He's just a streaky hitter right now.

Nope. We have a few nice OFers and Polanco is meh to me. Not saying he's not a nice prospect but Stanton should fetch better.

Same as above. Tavares is a nice prospect but we have a ton of OFers and basically no infield prospects outside of Dietrich and Moran.

Now if they want to throw Miller, Martinez, and Tavares this way, I'm all about it.

Its sad that trading Stanton is even something we serious consider.

I wonder what prospects we will get for the prospects we trade Stanton for once they've matured!

He mismanages the bullpen, in my opinion, and we sacrifice bunt way too much.

The first thing could get better with experience, the second thing is just a philosophy thing and that's unlikely to change.

I think the first thing will get better probably. Haven't seen enough of our games to know if the second is a problem, however I do think the sac bunt is underutilized in todays game. Not that I want good hitters doing it....

Its a philosophy thing as you said. I'd rather a slumping .240 hitter move a runner into scoring position than hack away. Especially if my team has issues generating runs.

I don't know if you understand what I'm saying exactly.

I'm not saying it's always a smart idea to bunt a runner over. I'm not saying you should waste at bats every game. I'm saying there are certain situations with certain hitters where perhaps it is better to move the runner over than to let a below average hitter take his chances at the plate. It depends on the inning, score, hitter, pitcher, and even in my opinion what kind of groove a player is in.

Maybe improperly utilized is a better way of saying it, rather than under which implies I think it should be done more.

More like some people just don't believe that every scenario has a predictable outcome through numbers alone. There is the human aspect to consider.

It's not about predictability. It's probability.

I don't think all bunts are bad but it's done far more often than it should be.

I don't disagree with your statement. In certain cases there are times to go against the mode or norm.

    And there's this too.

If you are going to make a below average hitter bunt a guy over because he's a below average hitter, are you going to make the guy batting below that below average hitting bunt that guy to 3rd? Because if he's hitting below a below average hitter, then he must be on par or worse then that below average hitter?

You do realize that a .300 hitter only has a 6% more of a chance of getting a hit as compared to that .240 hitter. And let's not even start digging into OBPs and stuff like that. Bunting generally is not a good play. There are small situations, especially in the NL with the pitcher, where bunting is smart. But outside of those its mostly not smart.

I really hope we spend some money in the next few years. With the way things are looking now, we could be a pretty damn good team as early as next year with a few breaks and some smart spending.

I honestly don't know as I haven't looked, but I think a guy like JJ would be a good reclamation project. Get him out of the AL East and into our big *** park with our kick *** defense and watch him be good again. He still has good peripherals.

Do you know the best place to find upcoming free agents?

Well, get him out of the AL period. He doesn't have to pitch to Toronto and the Yankees have no offense. Obviously the other three are all varying degrees of good but it's probably not as bad pitching in the AL East this year as it would have been in years past.

Toronto ballpark plays short, but yeah it is pretty much the same, as while the Yanks offense is down, it would just be replaced by say Baltimore's who is having a good year offensively, Tampa I believe is top 10 in baseball offense and they ranked near the bottom last year...AL East is what it is still...

Not with the current organizational structure. Also, the team doesn't want to deal with JJ's phantom shoulder anymore, so you can forget that idea.

As for free agents… Brian McCann? Whichever free agents the Marlins bring in, if any, need to help out the offense. The pitching will take care of itself.

Dempster has been dealing with a sore groin for about a month now that could be affecting his performance.

As for Peavy he's been in the AL for 5 years now, pitching in an extreme hitters park, no reason to think he can't handle it.
