    I think $1500 for first. $400 for 2nd. And $100 for 3rd

Then I minutes later made this trade.

I'm sals pals. Hurt to trade Longo and Myers but what I got back in return was to much to say no.

Sorry to turn this into a fantasy thread. Just figured some real baseball fans would like stuff like this. My girlfriends hates it and I tell her everything just to piss her off.

No good stuff. I like both trades for you. Getting Trout AND Harper was amazing for a keeper league.

TB gets RHP Jesse Crain, who's been on the DL for awhile. Depending on how much and how well he pitches depends on who they will give back to the White Sox. Good gamble although I know the Red Sox were scared off by his second DL trip recently.

Well here's the thing with that. Because we are an auction league. There is 20% inflammation on what they were drafted last year. With a $250 budget for the draft, Trouts about $60 tag, he will be to much to keep. Harpers price tag would likely be keepable. But I traded Myers who I could of kept for $10. So that hurts. But I'm hoping Bogaerts gets called up soon and can become a keeper for me.

We should have our own fantasy thread here, anyway. Between you, Ray, myself, ad a few others, we could probably put together good sleepers, waiver wire pickups, etc.

I'd love to be in a league like that. Sounds amazing.

I'm all in favor of instant replays at plays at home plate starting yesterday. What a shame an intense playoff like game was ruined because an ump was out of position.

I say bring me Cliff Lee and let the Sox and Rays get automatic byes to the ALCS.

Kinda like when Nunez was clearly safe against the Sox stealing 2nd a few games back?? This year calls have been blatantly awful....

A TB/Sox series would be the heat kinda....although dont count out the Yanks!!!! hahahah seriously how are they only 2 games out of the wildcardddddddddddddddddddddddddd???

I have no idea what you're talking about.... what Yankee game? Who's Nunez? 2nd base? (moving on) Seriously though I think even the umps would be in favor of replay.

The Yankees are only 2 games out of the wildcard because the rest of the league is just ok. There's no one great team in baseball. Even in the NL. When you add the 2nd wild card almost every team has a choice now. Which is why they probably should move the trading deadline to mid August at the very least.

The extra inning game the Sox and Yanks played last series, Nunez tried to steal second in extra innings and it wasnt even close how safe he was, and they calling him out, it was pretty much as easy as a call to make...not saying he would have scored or not, but you dont know....

I'm interesting in everyone and anyone. But of course it all depends on the price tag. I'd rather have Cliff Lee then Peavy but again all depends on what those teams want in return. In my mind Bogaerts is untouchable and LHP Henry Owens and CF JBJ very close to that. Anyone else is fair game.

The Red Sox aren't trading Bogaerts for Cliff Lee. The only realistic player that could be moved that the Sox would think about trading Bogaerts for would be for Giancarlo Stanton and even then I think they would hold on to Xander.

It all depends if any money comes off the books....I agree it doesn't make sense, but if Philly doesn't care about getting any money back, they could ask for blue chippers...

That's fine. Getting Lee should net them some good prospects coming back but not a top 5 prospect in all of baseball.

honestly they are better off going either Peavy or Norris....decent pitchers available for ALOT less....

What about Young at 3B, and then go get Lee......I mean it is all about winning Championships right? That move puts you guys in a very good position....Young would mash in Fenway....

So the Phillies basically want Bogaerts, JBJ and Workman for Lee? Yeah no thanks.

I'm not sure I'd want Norris. FanGraphs did an interesting study on him and it looks like he's been pretty lucky and probably would only be a 4 or 5 starter. Again if they can get him for nothing (i.e. not a top 10 prospect in their system) go for it. Otherwise Workman would probably give them the same output.

As much as I'm not a big Young fan, he'd be a huge offensive improvement over anything the Sox got out of the 3B position this year. Again if they can get him on the cheap it's worth a shot.

For whatever it's worth Gammons tweeted that Bogaerts is not being traded, period. He would know. Not that he's really going out on a limb there.

I wouldn't consider anything young does at this point called mashing. He is in a current extreme hitters park. Look at his away splits. He has a problem generating power anymore.

I don't mean home runs, gotta think he hits well in that park however....plus it doesn't take much power to hit that wall...he has never been a big home run hitter...

Look it where he has hit the best the past 3 years out of our favorite teams.....

Ha. .375 against yall. 655 OPS at Fenway too. Small sample size, but still.

Also, just wanted to share because I am excited. Ive been working on becoming a hitting instructor, both at a institution and privately. Well I think I may be able to finally get it down. I have a meeting with an Academy Thursday afternoon with the director, who is also the owner. He wants to sit down and talk to me about my vision on hitting and how to the kids will become better. I am hoping it works out. I am one step closer to having the career Ive always wanted. At least starting in the career.

Not that I ever expect to get to that level but, Yankees would never hire me because I don't have the ML experience. You would be surprised how many ML hitting coaches teach wrong hitting techniques.

One thing I've learned quickly while learning about these things, hitting and teaching, for the most part do as they do, not as they say.

Guys like Don Mattingly don't preach what they practiced. When they practiced the correct hitting techniques.

I know the Sox always loved Stanton, man I really wish we could have gotten him for Manny back in 2008, but I can't see how they could ever land him without including Bogaerts and I'm not sure the Sox would even trade Bogaerts at this point. I mean it's tough to give up a 20 year old SS that's hitting as well as he is in Triple A right now. I know a lot of people like to compare him to Hanley, but Hanley never put up the numbers Bogaerts put up in the minors.

Yankees do alot hiring within their org, hey you got to start somewhere right.

There are so many hacks coaches professional sports today on all levels, it has to do more with politics than actually being competent at the profession. Keep your head down, build a good rep and you never know where the journey leads. For now, just grind.

Do we have an idea of compensation? My friend said he heard it's just Iglesias, which is highway robbery.

For Iglesias and another player (so far JBJ, Ranuado and Middlebrooks have been ruled out). Depending on who the other player(s) are I might do a backflip. This is called selling high.
