That's all true, I'm just saying the reps he took for us he looked good, quick, seemed to mimick better than what we were seeing from our scrubs, I'm not proclaiming anything, but I'm not counting him out because he had issues with his former team..you know how that goes..Some people think mike Wallace had a down year because of his attitude, maybe it was because his Qb and off coordinator had beef, which they did..you never know.. If he gets the gig at two or three, just add up the top 3 salaries, and we got it good for this year I would think.
If Patterson isn't cut this year he'll definitely get the axe next offseason when he's 5.4 mil against the cap...and Richard Marshall's 2014 cap number is 6.5 mil, so he's a goner too. So this will be the last year for both of them.
I do not see it as necessary to cut a good player now to resign any particular player next offseason. I am not responsible for working the salary cap. I want the best and most productive players currently on the 90 man roster now, to make the 53 man roster to better the chances of winning this season.
I hope the guy performs well for us as I hope all players do. Just IMO the opportunity cost of spending 4.5 on him when Richard Marshall seems better suited for the slot doesn't sound like the best allocation of resources. Who knows what we could do with that 4.5 if we roll it over to next season, you know?
I'd like to think so, but honestly it would not surprise me a whole helluva lot. After what he did last year, I wouldn't be surprised to see Ireland keep Grimes, Carroll, Taylor, Davis, Stanford and Posey.
