I had to do some leg work to help my mother in law get a new car. She got a new Beetle today with leather, airbags galore, and a 6 cd changer. They have 0% interest for 72 months. She got the car for 300.00 below msrp. I just thought I would share that incase someone was thinking about buying a new car with great financing.
A loaded car for 20,000.00 my mother in law is so happy. I know it is not a Pagan hot rod, but they have some nice cars.
I wouldn't mind getting a jetta or passat. However, I am still holding out hope that I get a company car.
the Passat is a sweet ride. my wife had one before girl child number three came along and then she went minivan on me.
I dont rust anything from Volkswagen anymore. Everytime I knew someone that had a Passat, Jetta or Cabrio, there was always problems with the clutch, the trasmission, or something else. Beware the germans!
I've had a couple friends with Passats, and they were not reliable and constantly in the shop. But they were all from 2000 to 2003. I would guess the new ones are a lot better.
My sis had an 03 Passat. The engine had to be replaced (about 10 Grand for a new one) along with countless other problems. I would never by a VW based on the problems she had with that car.
2000-2003? I would say that is still pretty new. Funny I see this thread. I passed a GUY driving a shiny silver Beetle yesterday, and all I could think was "Ahhhh how nice, your husband bought you a car"
Bro...my everyday driver is a 2002 Saturn SC2. Doesn't hafta be a hot rod to be nice. She should have looked into a Corolla though. Better price and better gas mileage. Don't know about the financing though.
Yes bro I know about the Corolla. I drive a 2004 Toyota Matrix XRS. My mother in law wanted either a beetle or a prius. My concern with the prius is changing the battery out after 8-10 years and the costs associated with that, as they will be retired at that time. They own there cars for quite a while. Bro I appreciate all your hot rods, I was just saying this is a transport car.
This weighed a lot on my decision to recommend a car for my mother in law. Plus at that time they will be both retired, and more than likely we will be living in the same house. My family knows how in depth I go on my research of cars, so they give me the job of ensuring they are getting a good safe car.
One more spin on the "Hybrid" cars is that you better be an Electrical Engineer to even have a chance to work on one. Heaven forbid anything actually goes wrong with the Electrical end of it. Can you imagine what the cost for a "Specialist" would be to do any significant work on one
