Oh man this is going to get interesting between Arod and Cashman: http://espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/sto...tells-alex-rodriguez-new-york-yankees-shut-up
I love it, get him Cash!!!!!! Ultimately the Yankees are just going to designate him and eat the money....there is no way he is play on NY for another 5 years.....simply no way....
They should have never had him come back. He should have gotten the damn surgery when he was injured. Now you have one player that could be getting paid by the insurance company not because of the Yankees stupidity and they arent mad at Teix.....
I actually think Cashman, while the comment was funny, was totally unprofessional. How is it even remotely appropiate for him to say that in public? Or Granderson or any of the other Yankees who have Tweeted they're cleared to play or how their rehab is going. Bad job by Cashman here.
Eh it is a non-story, but enough is enough, A-Rod broke command, and always thinks it is his world, well it isn't....and Cashamn is reaffirming that... Was the tact correct? Maybe not, but I have no problem with what he said....I actually applaud his honesty..... If I am Cashman and I read those comments, I am calling around to teams interested in trading and extending....I would gladly take the pick, but a package of players would be even better...
But he comes off looking like a hypocrite, when other Yankees like Granderson and Teixeira tweeted things out about their rehab earlier this year and he said nothing. Why should Arod get yelled at in public but not them? Plus what exactly did Arod say that was so bad? I think things like this should be done in private. Cashman is the one making this into a story when it didn't have to be.
He doesn't.....Tex tweeted after his first game about being back and how happy he was, it is different than A-Rod saying while injured that HIS doctor gave him clearance to play in games NOT the team doctor. Futhermore the team makes those decisions..... And also when you read his account it just started, you can tell his handlers are doing it not him, they are the ones who screwed up. I love that A-Rod has a twitter account though he will be sticking his foot in his mouth all the time now... A-Rod is in thw wrong here, not Cashman.....and again non-story but it goes to a better point that there is a riff with A-Rod and the team and that's good....
How is it not wrong for any boss/owner/GM/manager to say STFU to a player in public when all the player did was say he's been cleared to play? If it was Granderson or Sabathia for example that Cashman said that to people would be going crazy but because it's Arod and no matter what he does it's ALWAYS wrong people have a problem with it. I'm sorry but it's unprofessional to do. You don't say that to the media. Maybe you say it to the player in private but I think it's just wrong, especially the language that Cashman used. He could have gotten his point across in a professional way simply by saying something like "I would wish Arod wouldn't be tweeting things specificially about his rehab proccess especially since the Yankee doctors, who are the ones monitoring the situation closely, have the ultimate say in the matter as to whether he's cleared to play or not. While I appreciate his excitement to being close to returning to game action, I wish that moving forward he would keep this matter private until we make the official announcement". Boom, simply as that. And I'm not sure why a riff is good, the Yankees have this guy for 5 more years, it's not like if they're mean to him he's just going to quit and walk away from all that money owed to him and right now I have more trade value then he does. I just think the whole thing is petty. Just Cashman being Bobby V right now.
Because players don't make that decision, the team does, it undermines the team and the GM.....Cashman is right A-Rod should just STFU....I am glad that in today's PC world he wasn't and told the truth, who knows maybe he gets a hint. It is about time people get fet up with his antics, players, fans everybody, for years he has gone around the league on and off and carried himself as a total douche bag, cheated (whether it was legal or not), and while the production was there you turn the other eye maybe but now he is a liability. Yes he will be paid for 5 years by the Yankees barring something unforeseen contractually but he isn't going to be in a Yankee uniform much longer, he can't be....The battle lines are drawn and he is too much of a distraction to the overall team. I would be surprised if he doesn't get suspend the rest of the year this year that his even plays this year because as you said you and I have more trade value and it isn't worth the headache of having him there.... Not sure why you aren't getting how the 2 things are different between A-Rod and Grand/Tex.....Tweet about you are making progress, snap a pic of you rehabbing and say "rehabbing yay!!!" get back to game action as Tex and Grand did and tweet how it is great to be playing baseball again BUT when you relay medical opinions from 3rd partys from people who aren't affiliated with the team you are wrong. The samething happened with Arian Foster tweeted a pic of his calf MRI and got in deep **** for it by Houston...you cant do that stuff.... Cashman could have be more tactful I agree, Tex and Grand are genuinely good people (yes that plays a part in it if you dont think so you are naive), but it is A-Rod and all he genuinely is good at is being a dickmouth and his act is getting old especially in light that he cant reach the outfield fence anymore....
Agree to disagree I guess. I just don't think a harmless tweet (and let's face it, it is harmless and meaningless) was worthy to get that type of response back. It was handled wrong, that's my issue with it.
Again Granderson Teix and Jeter were not called out for the very same things. Hell Jeter was even going against doctors advice by insisting he was going to play in ST.
I'm with arod in this and think cashman over reacted. Calm down buddy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
In all three cases, they didn't do the samethings as A-Rod, it is an entirely different issue.....all of them got clearance to play by the team's doctors and then played in games....
Interesting read..... http://leeinks.weei.com/sports/2013...-salary?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter How is this possible though I thought that if you get suspended you lose the cash? How would he be getting paid while suspended? Also why doesnt A-Rod care about the insurance kicking in, he is being paid the 28M anyway? Alex still gets paid whether it is from the Yankees or insurance, so why would he be paranoid?? Unless if he misses the whole year there is an out clause for the remainder of his contract?? This is going to be very interesting... And the fact that if you as a player voluntarily retire because you can't play BUT are allowed to be paid the contract in full is what is EXACTLY wrong with the way baseball players are paid under this CBA...
Is that confirmed though that those players were cleared by Yankee doctors before they tweeted things out though? Teixeira tweeted about swinging the bat for the first time and how his wrist was feeling numerous times before (I'm assuming here) he was cleared to play in actual games. Geez even typing out a response to this just makes this whole thing just silly and dumb and still don't get why Cashman not only added gasoline but lit the match to this.
I think you have to take the NY Daily News story with a grain of salt and consider what the "sources" are saying. It smells like a Yankee smear campaign starting up. The Yankees have much more to gain from a retirement of Arod then Arod does. The more Arod plays, the chances of him to make even more money is there, so it makes zero sense for him to walk away.
yes it is silly and stupid..... I am going on whats reported and they showed the tweet Tex did, there wasn't even one from Grand or CC.....but the comparison I saw was from Tex after his first game back saying how he was happy blah blah blah..... Again even if Tex did while rehabbing say "swinging the bat good" isn't says "cleared to play by my doctor" again a doctor whom has no relationship or involvement with the team, the team any team makes announcements when it comes to injures.....A-Rod's other tweets are of him talking about making progress "me in the weight room" "with my biggest fan rehabbing" which was his daughter...that's cool and Cash or anybody didn't have a problem with it.... the problem lies again solely with him declaring himself ready to play games on his own...and thats wrong.... really don't understand how you aren't getting this....unless you are busting my balls hahaha
It's a mix of ball busting and thinking the whole thing is incredibly insanely dumb so why not keep talking about it.
Phewwww thank god because I was starting to think either you were getting a divorce and having a mental breakdown or not as smart as I know you are
Yankees dont have a sucker to pawn their bad contracts off to. Sadly we learned from the Red Sox by..... trading for Wells???
Miguel Cabrera is so much better than everybody.....you thrown at him, he makes fun of you then puts it in the fish tank lol....
He didn't do it last night when he looked stupid while striking out just after getting some chin music.
Yeah, the Yankees most likely won't be able to find any takers for Arod, Teixeira, Wells or possibly Sabathia.
Don't make yourself look like a fool because you aren't Nappy. The guy is just 100% unf$ckwithable regardless of what team is going against him....
