The few critics that shut up after last year will reawaken and the topic will again be that Lebron just isn't a winner.
Lebron still has a long way to go before being call 3rd GOAT. There's still Magic, Kareem, Bird ahead of him to name a few.
You wouldn't be shaking your head the morning after their first superbowl in a long time no matter what dumb nonsense was said. Let's not kid ourselves. Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk 2
LOL its already begun. The narrative will be that "despite winning 2 championships they are not as good as advertised."
The lack of reassurance from Section has me really worried right now. Where is Sec? Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk 2
Agreed on all counts. I didnt say the referring was perfect. Its not. NBA officiating leaves something to be desired because the unwritten rule is to keep games close which keeps people watching. Consistency is big in officiating and thats the biggest problem I have with a lot of sports officials not just NBA. You cant call it one way one game and another way the next game. It should be like your favorite drink; it should be the same every time. Thats cause you and most of these cats have class. I still hate the Heat but a small part of me feels bad for ya'll. Its a nuance but the result of a moving pick or illegal pick is generally contact but its not required. Technically if youre moving and I try and go over/under the pick and your movement makes my path more difficult even if there is no contact, its still a foul because your movement is impeding my progress. I refereed basketball at the HS level and could have gone further with it and I used to always explain stuff like this because it would frustrate people sometimes. http://www.nba.com/features/misunderstoodrules_051128.html Eh to me hes better then Bird. I have him tied 7th if I were doing an all time ranking....MJ, Russell, Oscar, Wilt, Olajuwon, Shaq, Magic/Lebron.
Really? Most of what I've seen has been about how 'Miami plays best with their backs against the wall." Aren't they something like 7 pt favorites tonight?
Go to any of the major sports rags. Everything is about Lebron's failures and how the Heat are being outplayed. Of course the headlines were 180 the other way on Sunday morning.
Joey Crawford isn't favorable for them. He once ejected Tim Duncan from a game for laughing at him from the bench.
Danny Crawford or Joey Crawford are the two most favorables the Heat could get. Fortunately we won't be seeing Brothers again as he is the FU crew for the Heat.
Nooooo. Brothers has done two games which is the most a crew will do. And two more than Tony deserves.
Joey Crawford was suspended for a year following the Duncan incident, and although he hasn't gotten into any tiffs with the Spurs since then, the Spurs record in games reffed by Joey are way below their normal percentages. Joey hasn't been great for the Heat either. His crew has fouled LBJ out the last two post seasons Danny Crawford is historically the Heat's most favorable official, the Heat is 19-4 the last 23 playoff games he's reffed, although the 4th was Game 3 of the Finals. But no amount of ref help would've made a difference in that game with Green and Neal going off they way they did.
Major boon for us if we make it there then. I think Joey Crawford is the most corrupt crew of them all. If the league wants a certain result his crew will see that it happens...whatever it takes.
I'm excited for tonight - the Heat are obviously great in elimination games - but LeBron logged 43 minutes and Wade 40 last game - then had to travel and now play just 2 days later. They may need a random Chalmers or Haslem game to alleviate some of the scoring pressure they've shouldered the last 2 games. I would think they want to try to blow it open in the 3rd rather than keep it close since they HAVE to be feeling some fatigue and you don't want a tired LeBron to have to take Parker late in the game. The Spurs meanwhile shot over 60% last game but also had 19 turnovers. Can they stay hot from 3p? Can they hold off a Game 2 type explosion from the Heat like they did in Game 1? Fun series.
Heat still have to play well. I'm sure the league would've preferred a Game 7 two years ago as well, but the Heat played like crap and no amount of ref massaging would've made a difference. I just want legitimate calls made. If LBJ gets hit going to the basket he should get the call.
Totally agree on Crawford. As Ive posted before, hes been suspended a few times by the NBA. Once for the airline ticket scam he once tried to run (tried downgrading from 1st class to coach and pocketing the difference-was suspended for life before Stern brought him back) and he was suspended for the Duncan incident. I mean who even messes with Tim Duncan? Even if you hate the Spurs Duncan is one of the more likeable players around in any sport. Crawford is ALWAYS at the center of a controversy and he feels the need to continuously be the story.
I don't disagree the Heat have to play better. But they come into this one with a real advantage as long as they also bring the effort and actually take the time to defend three point shooters.
All this controversy surrounding him. Yet he still gets the nod in these huge games. If it doesn't make you wonder you aren't paying attention.
I thought they mentioned during game 4 LeBron was one tech away from a suspension, is that true? When he did that 360 spin freak out when he didn't get a call last game I was really surprised he didn't get a tech.
Not saying I can't be wrong, but I am like 95% sure that is NOT the case. Lebron is hit with very few techs.
Just checked. Suspension occurs after 7 techs in the playoffs and Lebron has 4 so he is safe on that front.

Green is three 3's away from setting a record for the mos 3 pointers made in a playoff series. He will have it by halftime.
