10:30am Hoping to continue hearing about Tannehill leading the offense/huddle. Want to see some good things from Egnew/the rookies Continue progress from Keller and his connection with Tannehill. Anything you wanna see? Obviously its just a practice, but who isnt excited for SOMETHING at this point?!!?
I don't want Egnew to make plays because I think it'll be significant. It is just OTAs, after all. But the sadist in me knows that any/all notes about plays Michael Egnew is making in OTAs will actually genuinely anger a fairly sizable portion of the fanbase that has decided that Egnew is the epitome of all draft busts and human excrement...based on him not playing much as a rookie, and about 60 seconds of television that made him look bad. Other than that I think we should take odds on who this year's J.R. Tolver Memorial OTA Wide Deceiver will be. Early favorite is Armon Binns.
Who was last year's winner? Legedu Naanee? Chris Hogan? I hope Egnew proves all the doubters wrong, but we'll see, I'm not going to give him much credit unless he shows up in preseason. These are, as you stated, OTA's. But I'm really anxious to see how much his blocking and attitude has improved.
I guess I'd want to see updates on how Dallas Thomas and Lance Louis are progressing in rehab. Those two guys could be very key to the O-line this year. Hopefully those two, along with Jamar Taylor and Dion Jordan are up to 100% by training camp; potential contract issues aside.
Even though Chris Hogan is close, ultimately I would have to give the award to Legedu "No Holes" Naanee because he actually impressed the coaches not only enough to make the team but to be a starter, and then his play from that point was just stunningly bad to where he was cut. You can't really get more 'deceptive' than that.
I don't think you're going to see any of the above involved in this OTA and I wouldn't expect a close-up report on their "progress" since the media has no way of measuring it and if they talked to someone that does have a way of measuring it, you're very likely to get a very canned response (e.g. "He's making progress. We'll see.")
Would've been funny if he started talking about Sinkfield like that since Sinkfield just got cut already to make room for Courtney Gardner.
any news will be welcome, its so slow already and still like 99 days till week 1 Sent from my iPhone 5 using Tapatalk
"Whoa Whoa Whoa Tannehill, slow down a bit. You don't have to even throw further than 20 yards in the air to win ball games in the Noodle Football League" --- Pennington
Or: "yeah uhm Ryan, your ball placement sucks, maybe you should take up dart throwing? archery?" "Devlin, you and me have a lot in common..."
What I'd like to hear more about is the injuries, of course. I'd also like to hear things about Martin and his progress and JJ and his weight/progress...Is it real or is it memorex that we've been hearing about JJ ??
This is still no pads, right? All I care about is avoiding injury and that the offense looks fast and efficient. I want the D to look fast. I want to hear that not many passes are hitting the ground.
Get used to that. Until one of them gets hurt, that's what we're likely going to see for a while. My pet theory is that Will Davis will creep over top of Jamar Taylor and take nickel.
That and it's always a good thing when a unknown surprises in OTA's. W/o contact all you really have is short area quickness and fast assimilation of the offense as the only real indicators of much of anything.
