Ian Rapaport reported on NFL Network that he talked with Mike Dee and Dee told him that Ross selling the team may depend on how the 2013 season goes as far as wins and losses, if Ross feels he has a playoff type team he may decide to keep the team for a few years. Dee was asked whether or not Ross will sell in the very near future and said it was too early to tell.

Maybe, you can turn over the GM w/o changing Staff or your Qb, if they succeed then all the better.

Sounds to me like Ross is putting the heat on the organization, and if folks recall, Wayne H sold the team, or the sale was finalized, in 2008 when we made that run to the playoffs.

Nah, usual suspects have a hard time complaining about the player moves, so they have to latch onto something.

Players just signed and free agents at the end of the year can't be joyed about this kind of talk...instability is not good..

I need to hear from Ross.

Again... those comments are directed towards Tallahassee, not the fans of Miami. Its all blatant posturing. This team isn't going anywhere. These comments will apply pressure on Tallahassee to loosen their belts a little when this comes around next time (aka - next year)...

Dee has been his mouthpiece the last few days, and I'm sure the message he's been selling us the last couple of days, has been blessed by Ross before being spread to the public.

Nasty I don't think you get this.....Tallahassee doesn't give two ****s about what happens in Miami-Dade, as just witnessed by what happened last Friday. No manner of pressure on them will get them to act differently towards Miami-Dade...they hate us, and actually take pleasure in making life as difficult as possible for Miami-Dade and its government & citizens.

But make no mistake, they love the tax money we generate for them.

lol. If South Florida lost the Dolphins... whoever had a hand in not doing what it took to keep them would either not continue to advance position and/or would not get re-elected. Opposing it to the point of losing the team would be career suicide for any politician in Florida.

It wont ever get to that...

Yep, they say now. A year from now, they'll be back. Ross wants this to happen. He may not front almost 5mil before its even possible to go to vote like last time... but Ross isn't just going to throw up his hands. He owns that stadium, and he wants it improved.

Lol the statements from Dee were intended to do exactly what they are doing.

Ross may come out and say again, that he isn't moving. That way the fans can see Ross say it but the message is already out there for consumption

Probably what the Dolphins' plan is. Full-court press and see if they succumb to the pressure.

There is no plan B. It's over. Dee has been adament saying this is the end. They will not move forward with the stadium renovations, period.

And how do you know that's not them trying to put pressure on the city? How do you know they won't try again?

They're angry, I wouldn't take what they say now as complete truth.

That's what makes me think that Ross was trying to get this done to sell. He and Dee were sure of it, and when it didn't happen were completely taken off guard. That might be the reason why they are acting out so to speak. These are men most people are afraid to lie to, since they usually hold so much power over those people they interact with, they don't usually have to deal with this kind of behavior and react to it.

They've just said that they want to blow up Tallahassee, so you expect them to crawl back next year after threatening them?

I don't care one way or another as long as the team stays where it is. I don't want to see threats of relocation.

Well he certainly will now......that is why what they did so damaging. Weatherford will never allow the Dolphins anything while he still has the power to do so, and as long as Ross & Dee are in the picture. I'm not sure he would even allow a new owner to get a bill passed.

They kind of sunk their own boat with their actions. This is why it looks to me like it was a one shot thing all along. If it went through, good for Ross he gets his stadium upgrade just in time to sell the new improved stadium & team, if it doesn't go through, they put out doom & gloom about the team being sold and possibly moved.

To me its pretty nasty and really disgusting if that is what is really going on.

That's not what's happening at all, nor is Tallahassee going to give Ross what he wants next year after what he and Dee have said over the last 2 days. Ross and Dee have burned bridges intentionally.

If Mike Dee said the things the original poster says, all the more reason he deserves to be fired.

However I can't find confirmation that what the original poster said Ian Rapoport has reported is actually true. On his NFL Network segment the worst he said is that when asked whether this will mean Ross sells the team, Mike Dee said "it's too early to tell" and earlier in the report Rapoport said that they won't relocate while Steve Ross is the owner, but "in 5 years or 10 years, who knows?"

I saw nothing saying specifically that how the team does in 2013, whether they make the playoffs or not, will determine whether Ross keeps the team or sells it.

Watch the segment again, it's in there. He clearly says that Dee told him that wins and losses and the business side of things will be the deciding factor of whether or not he sells.
