Lol now you are straw manning. My point was never about the quality of offense of any of the teams but purely based on speed. The speed differential from two incredibly plodding teams to the Heat is pretty big. If the Knicks advance they would likely be at the wrong speed for at least one game. Look back at the Heat Celtics series from last year. Same thing happened to the C's and in game one they looked like they were at the wrong speed. The Bulls O is crappy, but the Knicks aren't a fast team so the speed difference isn't really a big deal, if they face the Heat in the ECF

You're 100% correct about the tempo change, but I think I'm correct in stating we will have a much easier time in the paint than the previous series assuming we get there. The Knicks also are much better offensively than Chicago or Brooklyn. Make no mistake, IF its Miami vs NY in the ECF it will take the April Melo and JR, the NOW Felton and Iman, the 2012 Steve Novak and Tyson Chandler to beat the Heat. My goal has always been to get to the ECF and be competitive vs Miami, those will meet my expectations as a logical fan.
TNT needs to carry every game in that series. And have guest color commentator Spike Lee with Reggie. Only entertaining part of those televised matchups would be that back and forth.
NY has got to lose the ISO ball to beat Miami. Holding the rock doesn't work against the Heat. The ball would have to flow around the perimeter and generate easier threes. Also players besides Carmelo need to not just score, but score efficiently. And then you have to hope you don't get ugly face Lebron from game 6 against the C's last year.
Completely agree. But the Knicks do a great job playing to their strength and dictating tempo. The possessions per game against in April and vs Boston is very low and it was to the point where Boston was trying to get out and run. They had quite a bit of trouble scoring in the half court. The Knicks would do well to employ the Boston strategy of foregoing offensive rebounds to shut down the Heats transition game if they get in to a series. ISO ball falls a lot on Woodson. Melo and JR can definitely tend to isolate at times but last night for exaple there was about a 3 minute stretch in the late 4th when Woodson was having Melo bring the ball up and then not move it. Thats how Iso Joe (Johnson) got his nickname in Atlanta. Woodson falls in to this trap too often. Melo was eventually smart enough to move the ball to Felton and let the PG do his thing. Speaking of Felton, great job vs Pierce in the Boston series. Played underneath him all series and Pierce looked really uncomfortable. His FG% was reflective of that. Who was our PG last year again? Whatever it is about NY, this is the 2nd time Ray Felton has been a knick and the 2nd time hes playing really well.
The caveat is both teams are a minimum of four games away from this even being a discussion worth bringing up.

You have some work to do before you throw around historically... Over the last 20 years you see teams like Detroit, SA, LA, Hou, and ofcourse Chicago have all won consecutive and/ or multiple titles. You need to reel off a few more titles before you can even call yourself the best team in the past 20 years, let alone ever. Ofcourse the needle is pointing up for Miami as that's a damn good basketball team, just make sure you win a few more titles before you start getting too crazy.

It was me, I voted for him. As far as Game 1, I don't want to go all Miami Hurricane on everyone...but the Knicks were on the wrong side of a lot of questionable calls. Also here is a fun tidbit, NY has NEVER won a playoff series after losing game 1 @ home. So not looking good. Question, as Heat fans who are you rooting for?? Obviously most of you HATE the Knicks, but wouldn't it be funner to kick their asses yourself rather than playing Indiana in the ECF??
Boston isnt dirtier then Indiana? KG isnt a dirtier player then Hibbert? Not to mention better. Pierce is as big an actor as there is in the league. Theyre also better coached. To be fair though..1)Carmelo has a bum shoulder and 2) Miami can win if Lebron has an off night. The Knicks struggle like hell a lot of times. The Knicks NEED Melo to score. They dont have anyone else who can drop 30 regularly. Wade and Bosh can. Thats what separates the Heat right now.
Tougher than Boston? Absolutely. Demonstrably so. They are 6th in rim defense. Boston is 12th. I didn't make up the stat. It actually happened. Indiana is #1.
Oh boy...I saw this all week, and it bit you in the ***. Knick fans really dismissed that Indiana Defense. Statistically speaking..this Pacer Defense is the 2000 Ravens. They are (here is that word Fin-O) HISTORICALLY good. well..now you know. They are tough. You got to beat them on the inside, piece by piece. Go after Hibbert..get him in P&R's. then attack West. Their front line goes..so goes the rest of that team.
I wanted the Knicks..because it's sexy. Indiana is annoying as all hell, and they talk waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much for what they are.... So Heat fans have a lot of motivation to hate both and want both.
