I'm not arguing this. I haven't been since my first post in this thread. My point all along, the kid KNOWS it's against the rules/laws whatever you want to throw out there. He understands the consequences. He has been REPEATEDLY "warned" and yet....minimum of 10 times...that's where he lost count? No way in hell am I spending a high draft pick on this kid. He obviously cares much more about getting high that he does playing football. He can verbally tell me all he wants, but his actions have repeatedly shown me much differently.
I was debating on just the talent alone, I guess most folks don't even believe in that from what I'm reading...I think he's a fantastic prospect with special instincts, and I agree, first round talent..one of the few players to chase down mr Austin. Clean, when I'm watching this kids reps, I can't describe some of the things he does with his footwork that allows him to get to the action as quick as he does..that's why I called it Majic...their lightning quick short area footwork jabs that shift his body in different directions effortlessly and very quickly...one thing that is not talked about enough is that this is a tough football player..he will fu&$ing come up, no matter how big you are, and stick you, he needs to learn to wrap better but the instincts and balls are there C...I'm totally shocked at the he's not that talented comments from some talented eyes..one of us isn't seeing what the other is..I guess that's what makes the draft great.
last time I checked our defense was void of playmakers besides Wake..last time I checked this kid is one of the best play makers in the draft..we have starters in place, we could use a talented safety prospect on our team, besides that, I'm just really debating on his skillset and how it projects at the next level..

I don't think this guy is on our board at all. I hope he turns it around and grows up and has a successful career and a rewarding family life. But it won't start in Miami if I read Philbin correctly and if any shred of Parcells is left in Ireland. If we had stronger veteran leadership in the lockerroom.. maybe. But we keep cutting those guys.

Our defense has been void of play makers for years, decades, I'm not relying on a couple of backers, I want a secondary player who reads the field, and makes plays, this guy is also without question in my eyes, the best blitzing secondary player in the draft..he makes play in the air, he makes them on the ground as well...I've seen him use those special feet to get around players twice his size to the Qb, multiple players, on the same rep..I've see him time the Qb in his head and predict the arm slot, contorting his body with small explosive movements last second to strip the football.. Not to mention what he brings to the punt return game..both sides..natural defensive football player.

I'm not surprised to hear a cop say this, and I say that as someone who worked for the public defenders officer in law school. That attitude is prevalent at that level and it scares me. Not saying it's a bad thing or what not, just seems to be part of the cycle. But this is all a secondary discussion to the real point of this thread - T.M. I personally wouldn't draft him, kid clearly has a **** load of demons and I can't imagine the NFL fame and money will break him out of that cycle
The best playmaker in the draft at the cornerback position is Johnthan Banks. Everyone wants to focus on his forty time, but no one seems to mention that he and Dee Milliner were almost identical in the 3 cone drill and short shuttle. Plus, he's 6'2" with long arms and a 34 inch vertical. Much to my chagrin though, the Dolphins have not had any reported interest in Banks. It looks like Banks may go to Atlanta at the end of the first round. They, along with San Francisco and New England have been the teams looking at him the most. He doesn't get passed the Jaguars at the top of the 2nd round. Physically, Banks is very similar to Richard Sherman, and there will be some teams in the top half of this draft that will regret passing on him long term. Thing is, I don't think Darius Slay is far behind him. According to the stats that NUGap has on the cornerbacks, Slay probably gets his hands on more balls than any other cornerback in the draft. The guy has tremendous athleticism and also tremendous ball skills. Slay and Banks probably played a more difficult style to play than any other corner outside of Dee Milliner in this draft, as they mixed in a lot of cover 3 with off man coverage. Neither one pressed much, and both are very adept at reading the cornerback and then picking up their receiver mid stem. Slay is about 6'1" and runs sub 4.4 along with a 36 inch vertical. He's going to be an early 2nd round pick if he doesn't sneak into the 1st. Alas, I haven't seen any reports of Miami showing interest in him either. Both are better than Tyrann Mathieu though, and neither have the off the field baggage that Mathieu brings.
Agreed on all counts, the attitude is prevalent and concerning in law enforcement and not the point of this thread. I wouldn't draft the kid b/c I see no reason to believe that he'll be any different when he has money and time. I see the odds of him becoming an inmate in the next few years are far, far likelier than the odds of him becoming the next Polamalu.
Do you think Mathieu is tight hipped? KB does, and Stitches agreed. I think he is very fluid hipped and it's one of his best attributes. What is your opinion?
Why are we questioning things before suspension? I want to know what he has done since he declared for the draft.
