These team has been pleasantly surprising me, hit the boards like monsters....all kinds of secondary scoring...by far. The most impressive win during this streak.

I'm hoping we get to 36....that would be the last 8(I think) regular season games and then 4 rounds at 4 games apiece in the postseason :)

What??? The big three all mysteriously ave random minor ailments they are working through that came to light immediately after the streak ended and we pretty much tied up home court advantage? Ailments that allow them to occasionally take the court one at a time to "test things out"? Shocking!!!!

Seerious question for Boik and Fin-O. Are you worried that Melo is gonna burn himself out by the post season?

I dont worry about Carmelo. I worry about the rest of the team pulling their weight and not burning out....
Ray Felton has never been on a team that made a deep playoff run
Tyson Chandler has a bulging disk in his neck
Amare has a bum knee as we know
Kmart, Kidd, Camby, Kurt Thomas and Prigioni are OLD. And for Prigioni this is his first year in the US playing an 82 game season.

Those are the players that concern me. Guys like JR, Novak, Copeland are what they are.

The numbers bring up a Giant red flag that indicates that the Knicks can't beat the Pacers.

Pacers are #1 vs. the 3 pt. shot.

Knicks average 10.8 3's per game.

They hit half of that in the three meetings with Indy.

They shot 12-73 for 16% from 3 vs. Indy.

The key ingredient. Offensive Efficiency. For a ****ty offensive team, Indiana for whatever reason, was efficient vs. NY. They averaged well over 100 pts. per 100 poss. in the 4th quarter of all three games.

Lets worry about Indiana later, the scary thing about NY is they don't get points in the paint. When you rely on jumpshots 3 point or not, you stand the risk of going cold. And that doesn't allow you to overlook anyone. The flipside is we have fantastic ball movement and when we are on??? Can beat anyone in the league. I think closer to playoff time we see less minutes from guys like Kidd Melo and Chandler.

As far as Melo burning out, obviously it would be nice for his heater to have started next month not this month. But he isn't playing very aggressive, just jumpshots and not taking a lot of contact. In crunch time I think we see him driving to the lane much more making him a nightmare for whoever is in front of him that night.

The Knicks are vulnerable vs anyone so ill take the wait and see approach and hope they keep suprising me.

There are two things with the Pacers that I see giving them serious trouble with the Knicks:
    1. Theyre having a lot of trouble scoring. I know they are a very good defensive team but the Knicks can definitely score the basketball with just about anyone. They will be the type of matchup that gives the Pacers trouble especially if Amar'e can contribute 10-15 minutes a night and give them a post presence.
    2. No Danny Granger. This is going to make Paul George's job a lot harder having to guard either JR or Iman Shumpert.

Not saying NY will cakewalk through them...they havent earned that kind of faith in them. But the Pacers better get their stuff together or they may not make it past Atlanta or Chicago in round 1.

And last year the Knicks destroyed the Pacers in 2 of 3 after D'Antoni got fired. They actually whipped them on back to back games. They can beat the Pacers. Not saying they will but they can. They have struggled with them so far this year but we know how much the Heat struggled with the Bulls in 2010 during the regular season...that worked itself out.

Being a Buckeye was inevitable as I grew up 10 minutes from the Shoe...I don't owe any alliegence to any of the pro teams in Ohio after all I live in Columbus with no major professional team (blue jackets meh).

It was fate that led me to the agony of being fans of those teams, be it a goofy looking faded aqua hat from my gma in Florida at 9 years old...the stories of Ken Griffey Sr I heard wich led me too follow his son as a rookie, to the Sunday NBC games in the early 90's featuring a team full of bad mofo's who whooped you physically.

Good news for me is the Knicks will never miss the playoffs again while Melo is on the team, Jeff Ireland looks to have found a brain, and the Mariners??? Well.....I just don't have much hope for.

    That was different.

Those games were close, and there was anomalous numbers in favor of Chicago, to the point that I called their shot that year (I said 4-1).

    This is different.

it's schematic. If you watch what Indiana dis vs. the Knicks this year, you realize that they put a massive emphasis on the 3 pt. shot, and cutting off the corner. They also pick up very high and short circuit ball movement.

The Pacers are susceptible to foul trouble, and pick and roll paint points. Neither of which the Knicks force well.

I bet playoff basketball, and am good at it. I bet it based on numbers. That series is the largest red flag I have so far.

If the Lakers make the playoffs the Cavs get the Lakers draft pick, but if the Lakers dont make the playoffs, the Suns get aforementioned pick.

the Bulls are in tank mode..trying to avoid the 5th spot.

If Tyson plays...they win...if he doesn't and Joakim does (not likely)...then things change.

Bulls have slowly fallen apart since snapping the Heat's streak. They look like a team with leprosy.

As Frumundah mentioned. The Cavs hold their own pick this year as well as the Heat's 1st round pick. As part of the Ramon Sessions' trade last year, the Cavs get the ability to swap their least favorable 1st rd draft pick, whether their own (not going to happen) or the Heat pick, so long as the Lakers' pick doesn't reside in the lottery. The Suns have full rights to the Lakers' pick if it is in the lottery.

Lakers pull out the W! Now just have to win at least as many as the Jazz in the next 3 and they're in. I hope the Spurs are sitting people when they play the Lakers.
