I think he nailed it and spoke the truth. Everyone has different motivations, and the guys who want to win it, it shows, whether they do or not. Then there are others who just love the lifestyle, its not often you see them winning a SB.
Does this strike anyone else as odd: "You play this game to win a championship,” Taylor continued. “Everybody has different motivations. Some guys want to be famous. Some guys want to make money. Some guys just want to get into clubs for free. Some guys want to win championships." Taylor really sounds like hes contradicting himself here. He's said before that he wants a chance to win a championship this year, and then he goes and talks about how much he wants to act and be in hollywood (famous). Doesn't make much sense why he would throw that famous jab in there with the other ones when thats exactly what he wants to do.
And the Taylor saga is renewed........ On a serious note, I don't think he was talking or trying to about himself. I think he was talking in general about NFL players and their motivations. As for himself, I think he is looking toward playing for a championship right NOW but in the future, he may want to be famous for his acting in Hollywood. One thing is that it seems some are assuming he wants to go to Hollywood to be famous. Maybe it was just one of his childhood dreams to be an actor as well as a professional football player.
I could take a million shots at Taylor but its really a waste of time at this point. The article is about Strahan anyways. Stray will always be one of my favorite players. He made me feel a lot better about living in NY and having to deal with the other annoying franchises lol. How he carried himself, he was always the real definition of a leader. His retirement is a far bigger deal then Favre's for me. I hope he gets his desk job on ESPN asap.
Are you ok with what JT is doing then? Because strahan held himself out until like 2 days before the season started.
I just wish JT would be straight up with what hes doing instead of contradicting himself and trying to save face. If he was just honest and open about what he wanted one way or the other I would have a lot more respect for him.
You're reading way to much into this man. Thats how the whole taylor drama started, people read into things waaaayy to much.
I'm not reading into it like he has a secret agenda. I just thought it was the pot calling the kettle black.
The way i read it is that JT is referring his comments purely to the motivation of playing football. Some (others) play football to be famous. JT doesn't, instead he plays football to win a championship. JT will go to Hollywood after football to be famous. I don't these guys are satisfied going to the football hall of FAME in Canton. They want to win the SB (see Marino). He'll go to Hollywood to be famous. I think he really believes they are mutually exclusive priorities.
