Good job man, I smoke one every now and then when I have a couple, everyone in my family has become addicted to them at some point in time which is why I try and stay away. Now only if I can stop doing the dip. I've been doing it for about 4 months now.
It really is disgusting, but I associate it from when I play baseball. I always dip when I play softball as well, I'm starting to ease up on it though, but it's hard since everyone around my college campus does it.
Well, it's only been 4 months, and I do it in moderation, I usually will do it for a week straight, but then stop for 1-2 weeks. I've run out of money anyways, So I'm done for a while, lol.
Gratz Sick and Fin D. I quit smoking myself about 3 months ago and thoroughly enjoying no longer smoking. I had actually started smoking again around 2010 after at that time being quit for over 5 years. Its amazing, once your a smoker your always a smoker and have to keep your guard up to stay quit. Stay strong guys and gratz on 1yr anniversary.
Yuppers. Just got a new car too (well, new to me anyway) and its never been smoked in. First time that's ever been important to me. My wife and I were laughing about how we're not going to have any of the tell tale burn marks on the front part of the door around the window, like every smoker has.
I'm a smoker cause I like it. I never smoke in the car though. The gal doesn't like it. She is an ex smoker. I just go kill myself in our garage.
Smoked for 4 years and quit a month ago kinda just decided I was done my last cigarette tasted disgusting, so I just decided to stop. Other than first 3 days killing me and having a hard time to stay out of bed definitely feel great now.
Still not smoking myself either. Been pretty easy too, went out bowling and drinking. Finished the night up around smokers and me drinking, had no issues or urges at all to smoke.
Welp, I've been dip free for 2 weeks now, I have no urges to really do it anymore. Caramels, and candy offset the urge. I may do it when I play softball/baseball, and that's very rare. It's definitely a once and a while thing now, and on certain occasions. Went out drinking as well, and didn't crave one, I was surprised, as my mom's side of the family has addiction issues with tobacco. I'm doing well so far.
I didn't know you smoked in the past. Good job though! I can imagine you've saved a good chunk of cash.
Mostly social, with drinks and what-not, but then I started getting a pack a day or so. And yes, it has saved a ton of money, but now I am spending that elsewhere of course...
That's fantastic bro! I got to tell you, it feels good to remove the things from your life that have control over you.
Congrats guys! I've been a smoker for about 5 years now. Started when I was having anxiety issues because they helped calm me down. Got hooked and here we are. I will quit one of these days but for the time being I enjoy it, especially in the warmer months. It amazes me how many smokers smoke 2 packs a day. I smoke a little over half of a pack a day and I sometimes feel like I'm going to die. It's weird, I could quit cold turkey (I have twice) for 5-6 months at a time, and then all of a sudden the craving hits me like a ton of bricks out of the blue and I get hooked again. You all should be proud of yourselves, especially you Fin D considering you've smoked for almost 25 years. That's almost as long as I've been alive. Man this thread has got my juices flowing. Brb, time for a smoke.
I'm smoking right now. My Dad smoked for 65 years. Died of lung cancer. He was 76 years old. Cuts down on the drooling years.
Congratulations. Well done. It is likely the cravings will never disappear but you have beaten them. Well done!.
I was at 1/3 pack a day but I've cut it to 1 cig in the morning and then help throughout the day with e-cigarette stuff. I have about 2 smokes left in my "morning pack" and I'm not buying another. When I run out of e-cig stuff I'm not reupping on that either. I've smoked for 11 years and I'm very tired of it. I've quit for a month before but folded during Memorial Day weekend. This time im trying to get a good start by starting after. I will be avoiding all Martin Scorsese movies, they really feed the urge. Wish me luck.
