I don't think the plan is to start Garner at RT, but I don't think it is a laughable proposition either. He played pretty well there at the end of last year in 4 of the 5 games he played. He struggled against the Pats, but I think just about everyone on the team did. It was bitterly cold that day (I was in Boston and was supposed to go the game with my son, but he was sick and it was just way too cold to have him outside) and not normal game conditions. He fared OK against the Pats in the game in Miami. I think Garner was better at OT in those last 4-5 games than Martin was at LT. He's a huge guy who has learned enough of several OL positions to be trusted by two different coaches at a few different spots. Again, I don't think the plan is to start him, but if they did, it wouldn't surprise me to see him do pretty well.
There are varying degrees of fit. It is not just "fits" and "doesn't fit." Garner has some versatility and played pretty well in our blocking system last year.
Well the one problem is phinsational is in Mayberry, North Carolina hanging out with Andy, Barney, Opie and Gomer, and I'm high up in the mountains of the Oregon Cascades, living like a hermit in my log cabin.
