    #01 - Pittsburgh Steelers
    Geno Smith, QB West Virginia

They've got Brock Osweiller a second round pick from last year with old man river David Garrard himself playing backup and throw in Adam Weber as the obligatory clipboard holder and you can see the Steelers want to cover their bases just in case Osweiller faulters.

    #02 - New England Patriots
    Dee Milliner, CB Alabama

Even with some of the additions to their defensive backfield the Patriots have needed a lot of help at corner. Stop gaps like Nate Clements and Quentin Jammer won't be enough for the future and could struggle to provide the Patriots with the type of pass defense they need to get back to the Superbowl. Enter Milliner who will develop into the Patriots own shutdown corner.

    #03 - Oakland Raiders
    Luke Joekel, OT Texas A&M

Safest pick in the draft, if the Raiders were picking first we'd have another Long-Ryan debate. However because the Raiders lack any creativity they'll do what is expected of them. However I'm still expecting a quarterback at this pick... Tyler Wilson.

    #04 - Detroit Lions
    Jarvis Jones, LB Georgia

They've got several holes after big moves this offseason dumping some of their key pieces like Megatron and Suh, but now they get to start fresh with three of the top ten picks. They still have Nick Fairley at one defensive tackle position but feel Dan Williams is good enough to start in middle as well. Instead they address their lack of a pass rush and take Jones who will add a premier pass rush from the outside linebacker position for them.

    #05 - Detroit Lions
    Dion Jordan, DE Oregon

Speed kills and you can't have enough pass rushers are two cliches that have dominated the league for forever it seems. The Lions believe in that mantra and add a freak of a specimen to their defensive end rotation and now teams will have to contain the firm of Jones and Jordan.

    #06 - Miami Dolphins
    Kenny Vaccaro, S Texas

The Dolphins has spent a lot of their offensive and defensive lines the past offseason and this years. There are a few spots they could look to improve, especially in the offensive skill positions but instead of nabbing a multi-purpose weapon like Tavon Austin, the Phins select Kenny Vaccaro who is a smooth athlete at his position and possibly the most polished. Another option would be Xavier Rhodes who offers great size at the corner position.

    #07 - Detroit Lions

    Lane Johnson, OT Oklahoma

The Lions opt for the most athletic of the top tackles, and one with the higher ceiling. They hope to make their team more dynamic overall and Johnson fits the profile. Most would expect a quarterback but the Lions aren't ready to commit to any of the quarterbacks in this class, this early.

    #08 - Cincinnati Bengals
    Eric Fisher, OT Central Michigan

One of the more glaring needs for the Bengals after their makeover is offensive tackle as Jamaal Brown hasn't been very good during his career, and Cincinnati will want to give Dalton as much time as possible to throw to his receivers. Eric Fisher immediately upgrades the offensive line with his addition and could be a premier left tackle in a couple seasons.

    #09 - Baltimore Ravens
    Cordarrelle Patterson, WR Tennessee

Lacking a true number one receiver, the Ravens have a nice collection of complimentary pass catchers. So expect them to nab the best receiver prospect in the eyes of the majority of experts. He offers great size and athleticism, but if they don't go receiver expect some depth to be added on the defensive line with raw project Ziggy Ensah.

    #10 - Tennessee Titans
    Desmond Trufant, CB Washington

Outside of Jason McCourty there isn't a whole lot in the way of a starting cornerback, so the Titans spend a little early to get a rookie who has a strong lineage at the position. The first family of corners add another first round pick to their mantle. The most fluid prospect at corner will be able to step in from day one and contribute.

    #11 - Houston Texans
    Chance Warmack, OG Alabama

Unfortunately this hasn't been the best offseason for the Texans in terms of thier offensive line as they have now cobbled together a mostly veteran line of stop gap solutions. It's important for them to continue their dominance in the run game and to be able to protect an older Peyton Manning, so they get a mauler of a guard in the Alabama product. With the big three tackles gone expect one to be added in the third round.

    #12 - Cleveland Browns
    Tavon Austin, WR West Virginia

They started out the offseason with a bang and kept making a lot of noise with the number of trades they were able to generate, but since then have fell off the radar. Come draft time they come out and add a desperately needed playmaker to their offense. Tavon should be able to add a dominate slot man and returner. Dynamic barely covers the type of player the Browns will be able to steal at number twelver.

    #13 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
    Keenan Allen, WR California

The Buccaneers move into the thirteenth pick after trading away Vincent Jackson but should have really avoided the pick as they left themselves weak at the position. Sure they still have Percy Harvin but they don't have a game changer at running back like Adrian Peterson to alleviate any worries for when Harvin takes a third of the season off with headaches. Allen is a safe pick and has good hands, but will take a few seasons before he can be the target Vincent Jackson was.

    #14 - Baltimore Ravens
    Ziggy Ensah, DE BYU

The Ravens look to build thier defense of the future by adding a raw project, but one that grades out with the highest ceiling of any prospect in the draft. He could be Jason Pierre-Paul, or the next Vernon Gholston but I fully expect a player in like with JPP. He's disruptive and that's not knowing the game of football.

    #15 - New Orleans Saints
    Star Lotulelei, DT Utah

Health concerns drop Star down halfway through the first round and the Saints find themselves winners as they are in need of a nose tackle for their 3-4 defense. With nothing more than Bunkley New Orleans takes the best defensive tackle in the draft, who could be vesitile enough to play outside at end as well.

    #16 - St. Louis Rams
    Alec Ogletree, LB Georgia

Looking a little thing at linebacker the Rams ignore their need for a cowbell back and select Ogletree who can play both inside and outside linebacker. The most scheme versitile linebacker in the draft offers the Rams a lot of options in their defense and should make Jeff Fisher happy.

    #17 - Kansas City Chiefs
    Jonathan Cooper, OG North Carolina

One of the most conservative GMs in the league the man behind the Chiefs will add to their line by selecting the best guard available. The Chiefs know they have to open holes and protect their quarterback and looking at their roster they know the interior of the offensive line needs some attention.

    #18 - Dallas Cowboys
    Bjoern Werner, DE Florida State

Cowboys had trouble nailing down any free agents and was looking at adding some linebackers or defensive ends in free agency to no avail so they decide to draft Bjoern Werner one of the best outside rushing prospects to fill a need. This works out as he is BPA and fills a need.

    #19 - New York Giants
    DJ Fluker, OT Alabama

They did a good job bringing back some of their key offensive players. They feel they can get by with their runningbacks for now and because it is a deep draft for runners will hold on until later rounds. Instead they address the hole opposite Will Beatty. They elect to take a tackle that reminds them of Phil Loadholt. Fluker is a massive young man and could even move inside if they make a late move to acquire a right tackle.

    #20 - Chicago Bears
    Tyler Eifert, TE Notre Dame

Barely removed from St Patricks Day and the Bears don't have to travel far to fill the biggest need on their team. Kellen Davis isn't a starting tight end and the Bears could do with another receiving option, especially one who will cause mismatches in the redzone. He should be more effective that Rudolph was for the Vikings. Davis finds himself as the backup where he belongs.

    #21 - Denver Broncos
    Damontre Moore, DE Texas A&M

A little thin at linebacker the Broncos may conside moving Burfict to the other inside spot beside Fletcher. They add Moore to the lineup who should be starting opposite Nate Irving from day one.

    #22 - St. Louis Rams
    Terrance Williams, WR Baylor

There are rumblins that the Rams are about to sign Ahmad Bradshaw and could erase their need for Lacy, but that is still a possibility. Instead the Rams will address the need for a number one receiver with the lost of Amendola. So they pick up a big bodied Williams who should be ready to start over Pettis or Givens.

    #23 - Minnesota Vikings
    Ryan Nassib, QB Syracuse

Christian Ponder isn't the answer so the Vikings grab someone he doesn't mind playing outside in the cold and has a much stronger arm. Nassib can make the throws you expect at the next level and was well coached at Syracuse and fits the offense run in Minnesota.

    #24 - Green Bay Packers
    Eddie Lacy, RB Alabama

Much like their divisional rivals the Packers own the first round... it just happens to be the last third of it with three picks in the finals eight picks. Unlike the Rams the Packers aren't afraid to address a need with the likes of Beanie Wells as their number one they need a change at running back. Lacy is closer to Trent Richardson then he is Mark Ingram. A three down back that can catch the ball gives the Packers a running back they haven't had since Ryan Grant, but will actually remind fans more of Ahman Green during his heyday.

    #25 - Seattle Seahawks
    Sheldon Richardson, DT Missouri

They addressed their need for a new TE after the trade for Dustin Keller and adding both John Carlson and Ben Watson in free agency so they continue to add more depth to their defensive line with the prospect with the best combination of size, athleticism, balance and high motor. For the Seahawks you can never have enough quality defensive lineman.

    #26 - Green Bay Packers
    Xavier Rhodes, CB Florida State

The Packers can never have enough corners and take the tallest one off the board. Rhodes should blossom opposite Sam Shields and give the Packers a low cost tandem that should infuriate offensive coordinators for years to come.

    #27 - Jacksonville Jaguars
    Zach Ertz, TE Stanford

Lacking a big presence at Tight End the Jaguars get the best blocking pass catcher at the position. Ertz didn't exactly wow at the combine but he still adds a dynamic presence at Tight End as evident by his game tape. Hopefully he makes a better impression than Coby Fleener during an injury filled season.

    #28 - San Francisco 49ers
    Datone Jones, DE UCLA

A prospect that was rising up the draft charts finds himself in San Francisco where they have no depth beyond their starters on the defensive line. He's a well built and athletic player that might be more of a tweener than a true defensive end, but already at a good weight he can still play outside the tackle and attack similar to Seattles use of their rushers from the Leo position.

    #29 - New England Patriots
    Da'Rick Rogers, WR Tennessee Tech

The Patriots need help at receiver desparately and now believe that there is value on the board instead of taking a potential Charles Rogers with pick number two. They grab an underrated receiver who may have been expected to go a round or two later. However he is a big strong specimen that have scouts drooling at the prospect of a Julio Jones clone. Whether that is true or not, the Patriots can't wait for the number of draftable receivers to dry up.

    #30 - Detroit Lions
    EJ Manuel, QB Florida State

What a surprise the Lions with another first round pick, this time they pull the trigger and take their next starter at quarterback. The Seminole quarterback has some raw athletic tools that will help him escape a collapsing pocket and has good arm strength. If coaches to properly deal with pressure Manuel may be able to overcome his inability to get rid of the ball in a timely manner.

    #31 - San Francisco 49ers
Mike Glennon, QB North Carolina State

The 49ers see the string of quarterbacks disappearing and believe Alex Smith is an effective quarterback but not the kind to take you to a Superbowl. Glennon is nothing close to a read option quarterback but has better size and arm strength than tiny hands Smith. Much like Kaepernick, Glennon can sit behind and learn under the tuteledge of coach Harbaugh.

    #32 - Green Bay Packers
    Matt Elam, S Florida

The Packers with their third and final pick of the first round address the concerns at safety and take the hard hitting Matt Elam. He reminds me of John Lynch without the height, but will be a liability in coverage. With some coaching he just might be passable in coverage, but the Packers will want him to send a message to running backs in the NFC North. Hello Adrian!

Rams don't have holes. AJ Jenkins coming over from San Fran.... my linebackers are sollid... Bradham will be my starting SLB. He'll come out on third down nickel situations... Deangelo Hall will play free safety and corner at the same time.
