now that Backus has retired. Which means Miami really needs to shat or get off the pot. Option 1: Re-sign Jake Long Option 2: Move Martin to LT and sign Eric Winston at RT. Option 3: Trade up in the draft to get Luke Joeckel at LT and keep Martin at RT. Something needs to happen because Long is going to end up somewhere and you better believe Detroit is about to jump into the mix if St. Louis doesn't seal the deal here shortly.
It would be a waste of resources to trade up for Joeckel. Fisher and Johnson are just as good. If Jake signs with the Rams, just figure on Martin being the LT, like it or not, and a RT signed or drafted.
Well what did we expect ? We got a couple of days of clarity and smart thinking, and then he, well........turned back into Ireland.
Id much have Lane Johnson or pickup Winston. There's also Watson in the draft. We've got options available. I'm hoping Jake gives us a chance to match as long as it's reasonable.
I thought Detroit was really tight up against the cap. I dont think its possible they can afford Jake Long.
Jeff shot his wad already, were going to have to wait for jeffs eagle eye to find talent that falls off other teams trees during training camp to fill the huge holes we have now on both side of the ball. 1. LT 2. Corner / Safety 3. TE 4. Running Back
There are lots of tackles in this draft. No way we have to move up we can grab one at 12 if need be but would rather sign a FA or sign Jake back.
Not after KC re-signed Branden Albert. KC's moves prior to free agency tell us exactly what they think about the players considered to be at the top of this draft. Geno Smith? Matt Barkley? No thanks, we'll take Alex Smith. No WRs? At all? Come on back, Dwayne Bowe. Luke Joeckel, Eric Fisher? Have a contract, Branden Albert.
