Doubt it's this guy..but Darnell Dockett I hear is in a *****y mood in Zona...why not place a call? Worst that can happen is that they say no to an offer of a 3rd round pick. The guy is still a monster.
I like Vaccaro alot. He can really cover ground in the secondary at FS. It wouldn't surprise me if they do select Vaccaro, there are some draftniks who have Vaccaro @ #12 to Miami. The Dolphins do need a playmaker at FS and Vaccaro has above average cover skills for a FS.
I'm still thinking Tavon Austin. I think Darlington is hinting that this is something many won't expect. After signing Mike Wallace, I really don't think many would expect them to take Tavon Austin. There's a lot of dot connecting with Tavon as well.
Guys, if you use some logic you can get a good idea about who Con is talking about. It's a defensive player that was a FREE AGENT target, but now the'll have to trade for him. That means he's been tagged. That leaves two players in my eyes: Anthony Spencer and Michael Johnson and I think I can guess which one out of the two it is.
So if he's a FA but you need to trade for him it's either a RFA or franchised tag player. Arthur Jones from Baltimore has a 2nd round tender and looks like an improving player. They tell us to go get ****ed though after stealing Ellerbe. Franchised, maybe Anthony Spencer? I doubt the Bengals want to move Johnson. How are the Bears against the cap with Melton? **** it, I've no idea.
I agree that OT, CB, and TE are priority at this time. Unless the Dolphins are still able to fill one of these positions in free agency. While I am not a big Chris Clemons fan, his signing today probably makes the safety position a lower priority for the Dolphins front office. Perhaps they will use one of their picks in the later rounds to bring in another safety but I just don't see them using one of their first five picks on this position.
Drafting Austin after signing Wallace makes more sense to me, not less. If you drop that kind of coin on Wallace you gotta take steps to maximize his impact, which most certainly would entail drafting Austin to keep safeties from keying as much on Mike. Could be quite a harmonious, dynamic relationship between those 2 on the field together.
Last yr we more or less thought we had a trade lined up for Maclin or Washington Trent Cole seems a bit not our type though
If the Dolphins are able to find a replacement for Long in free agency, I will agree with you. If they don't find a replacement, I think their first round selection will be another offensive lineman.
He is projected by the experts to be a top five pick. The only way the Dolphins get him is to trade up into the top five picks. This would probably cost them their first round pick, one of their second round picks and probably another one of their 2013 picks. I just don't see them giving up that much to trade up for him.
